Chapter 11: Clairaudience

Tang Huaixu had completely gotten used to his sister's impulsive behavior over the past few days, so he nodded and agreed without even thinking about it.

For Tang Huaixu, as long as his sister is happy, he can do anything.

Seeing her daughter's cheerful look, Su Meijuan reminded her, "That river is quite deep. You must pay attention to safety when you go fishing, okay?"

"I know, Mom, don't worry."

After saying that, Tang Wanning hurriedly took the simple bamboo pole he had made earlier and went out, while Tang Huaixu went to look for the shovel and bucket for digging earthworms.

Before he could choose which bucket to use to hold the fish, his sister was nowhere to be seen. Tang Huaixu had no choice but to grab a bucket and two small stools and chase after her.

What's wrong with my sister today? It's not the first time we go fishing by the river, why are you so anxious?

Although he didn't understand, Tang Huaixu had no complaints at all. He just walked a little faster, trying to catch up with his sister.

By the stream.

Tang Wanning has successfully found a suitable position to observe the entrance of the brigade headquarters, but not easily noticed.

After confirming the location, Tang Wanning finally breathed a sigh of relief. Today was the day Bai Xiuying would receive a phone call, and she couldn't miss it. She had to keep a close eye on her.

After relaxing, Tang Wanning finally remembered her younger brother whom she had forgotten. Just when she was hesitating whether to go and greet her younger brother, she saw his figure from a distance.

"Xiao Xu, I'm here."

Seeing his sister waving at him, Tang Huaixu couldn't help but sigh in his heart.

Even though his sister is two years older than him, he still acts like a child. It seems that he needs to grow up as soon as possible so that he can better protect his family.

Looking at her exhausted and breathless little brother, Tang Wanning touched the tip of her nose awkwardly, "Xiao Xu, I haven't fished in a long time. I got excited and ran a little fast. Thank you for your hard work."

"Sister, it's okay. These things don't weigh much anyway." Tang Huaixu wiped the sweat from his forehead. "Just sit and wait for me. I'll go over there and dig some earthworms."

"I'll go with you."

Thinking of his sister's expression when she saw the earthworm, Tang Huaixu said, "I can go by myself. You sit and wait for me for a while. It will be over soon."

After hearing what her brother said, Tang Wanning no longer insisted, because she was also afraid of missing Bai Xiuying's arrival.

Tang Huaixu picked a dark and damp piece of soil by the river and started digging with a shovel. Sure enough, not long after, he saw several twisting earthworms. This scene made Tang Huaixu's scalp tingle.

But when he thought of his sister's excited look just now, he closed his eyes, hardened his heart, and directly picked up the earthworm and threw it into the bucket.

He dug a few more and then Tang Huaixu was so disgusted that he stopped. He took a deep breath, adjusted his expression, and then walked to his sister with the bucket.

"Sister, these earthworms are for you. You can fish for them first, and I'll go dig a few more."

Watching the earthworms twisting left and right in the bucket, Tang Wanning's hair stood up instantly. At this moment, she felt that fishing was a really bad decision!

Seeing his sister's reaction, Tang Huaixu suppressed his inner discomfort and took the initiative to pick up an earthworm and hook it on his sister's fishing hook. "Okay, sister, cast the rod."

After he finished speaking, Tang Huaixu quickly ran to the river to wash his hands. He didn't take out his handkerchief until there was no dirt on his hands.

However, Tang Wanning did not notice her brother's abnormality because her attention was all on the brigade headquarters. Not only that, she didn't even know that her fishing rod was hooked.

Looking at his sister who was daydreaming, Tang Huaixu's heart suddenly skipped a beat.

It turned out that his sister ran so fast that she even forgot to take the bucket of fish. Tang Huaixu really thought that his sister was so happy to go fishing.

But after arriving at the river, my sister was not in a hurry anymore. She kept staring at the entrance of the brigade headquarters. So my sister didn't want to fish at all, but was waiting for someone?

But my sister grew up in the village and all the people she knows are in the village. Who would she be waiting for?

No matter who she is waiting for, her sister must be hiding something from him, and she is hiding it from the family.

After figuring it out, Tang Huaixu became even more worried, but he didn't show it. Anyway, his sister would take him with her wherever she went these days. If something really happened, he would be the first to know.

Looking at the ripples in the water, Tang Huaixu did not remind his sister. Instead, he looked towards the brigade headquarters from time to time.

It was only when Tang Wanning felt a strong pull coming from the fishing rod that she realized she had taken the bait.

This is really an unexpected success.

However, it is always a happy thing to catch a fish, because it means there will be fish to eat at noon.

Tang Wanning quickly stood up, held the bamboo pole tightly with both hands, and tried to pull the fish ashore. Since the crucian carp weighed only a little over one kilogram, she succeeded in one try.

Looking at the fish flopping on the ground, Tang Wanning was overjoyed. "Xiao Xu, look, I caught a fish."

"Sister, you're amazing." Tang Huaixu praised as he stood up and put the fish his sister had caught into the bucket, then put another earthworm on her hook. "It's only been a few minutes, and you've already caught a fish. My fishing rod didn't even react."

"That's right, I'm a little fishing genius!"

After saying this, Tang Wanning threw the fishing hook into the river again and stared intently in the direction of the brigade headquarters.

Over the next three hours, fish were caught one after another, but Tang Wanning was not happy at all because she never saw anyone coming out of the brigade headquarters.

Could it be that the call came in the afternoon?

Just when Tang Wanning was feeling restless, the captain came out in a hurry, which made her nervous.

Here we come!

Tang Wanning said excitedly, "Xiao Xu, watch over the fishing rod for me. I'm going to the restroom at the brigade headquarters."

Seeing his sister's excitement, Tang Huaixu blurted out, "Sister, I want to go to the bathroom too. How about I go with you?"

Tang Wanning went there to gather information, so how could she possibly bring her brother with her? Besides, there were so many fish here. If both of them were not there and someone else took the opportunity to take them away, she would cry to death.

"You're a guy, why don't you just find a place to take care of yourself?" Tang Wanning said anxiously, "I'll be back soon, just keep an eye on the fish."

After saying this, Tang Wanning didn't wait for his brother to answer and quickly ran towards the toilet in the brigade headquarters.

Originally, she planned to eavesdrop at the door, but the risk of being exposed was too great, and she might not be able to hear clearly, so Tang Wanning thought of the "Super Ear" in the system mall.

She had just found a suitable place to hide when she saw the village chief and Bai Xiuying hurried into the brigade headquarters. After waiting for a while, Tang Wanning opened the system mall.
