"Lu Zhiwei, your strong will is only hurting your own body," Shen Jinmo warned her sternly.
“I am the one who makes the decisions about my own body. Luo Wuyan is my best friend, and I cannot let anything happen to her. Those race car drivers need to be thoroughly investigated. President Shen has absolute power in Yunzhou, so he should be able to find the culprit soon.”
"Yes, I've already sent people to investigate. Don't worry, we'll definitely give you an explanation," Shen Jingmo said, frowning.
Lu Zhiwei didn't say anything more. She picked up a branch from the ground, used it as a walking stick, and continued searching deeper into the woods.
Shen Jinmo followed silently behind, never leaving Lu Zhiwei's side for more than half a meter.
In a thicket of bushes at the foot of the mountain.
The two people who were unconscious gradually woke up.
Luo Wuyan opened her eyes and found Shen Jiarui's heavy body pressing down on her. Their helmets had disappeared when they rolled off the bed.
His face was covered in cuts of varying degrees from tree branches, and blood was seeping from it.
Luo Wuyan realized that the man on her body was cold and had no warmth at all.
I checked his nose, and it seemed like he was still breathing.
"Shen Jiarui, wake up." She patted his handsome face.
Shen Jiarui opened his eyes groggily, looked at the magnified features in front of him, and burst into tears of joy. He then reached out and hugged Luo Wuyan tightly.
"You didn't die, and I didn't die either. I told you we were both incredibly lucky."
"..." Luo Wuyan was being strangled so badly she could hardly breathe.
In a fit of anger, he kicked Shen Jiarui away.
The man's body was thrown onto the grass nearby, and pain came from his feet.
He wrapped Luo Wuyan up when they rolled down the hillside, so his injuries were more severe than hers.
Despite the extensive abrasions on his back, he didn't utter a single complaint of pain.
The pain in his leg made him cry out in pain.
"What's wrong with you?" Luo Wuyan saw him scream and thought she had stomped too hard, so she turned back to check his foot.
"It's probably a fracture."
"Why are you as fragile as a piece of crispy skin, Second Young Master Shen?" Luo Wuyan simply couldn't stand this delicate young master.
"I sacrificed this leg to protect you, how can you still scold me?"
“Even if you don’t hold me, I will come down unscathed. I have been professionally trained and know how to roll effectively to reduce abrasions.”
"Why didn't you say so sooner..." Shen Jiarui felt like he was a huge victim of injustice.
Finding a thick tree branch, Luo Wuyan took a handkerchief from his body and used it to bandage and immobilize his injured leg to prevent it from shifting and causing further injury.
"Do you have a lighter? I'll get some matches," Luo Wuyan asked him.
Shen Jiarui took out a custom-made lighter from his pocket and handed it to her.
Luo Wuyan was efficient and quickly found a pile of dry matches and lit them with a lighter.
"Why are you starting a fire?" Shen Jiarui asked, puzzled.
"First, the temperature is low in the mountains, and I'm afraid you'll get hypothermia. Second, the thick smoke is a distress signal, and the rescue team will find us soon. How can you be so clueless, like an idiot? How did you grow up like this?" Luo Wuyan increasingly felt that this man was a complete fool.
Shen Jiarui looked at Luo Wuyan with admiration: "I never needed to learn these things growing up, I only needed to eat, drink, and have fun. But can't we contact the rescue team with our phones? I have my phone with me."
"You think you can think of that? My phone is broken. I just found your phone on the grass not far away and dialed 110. In fact, there is no signal here at all."
Shen Jiarui was completely speechless in front of Luo Wuyan, an all-around capable woman.
He really seems to be a good-for-nothing.
It's a giant baby that needs to be fed.
"Oh right, didn't you say that if you beat me, I'd have to agree to one condition? Although our match didn't really determine a winner, considering your glorious injury, I'll consider this a win for you. Name your condition." Luo Wuyan sat cross-legged on the grass.
Anyway, it would take some time for the rescue team to arrive, so she could pass the time by chatting with him.
“I…” Shen Jiarui twisted his fingers together.
He originally wanted her to be his girlfriend.
But after this experience, he suddenly realized how ridiculous his request was.
He's no match for her at all.
"This kind of victory is dishonorable. I don't want your charity. I want to win fair and square first." Shen Jiarui kept his thoughts to himself.
If pursuing Shen Shuyuan was an obsession of his youth.
But his love for Luo Wuyan was a chaotic and turbulent affair for him alone.
He is no longer reckless; he will consider things carefully.
I wonder if I am worthy of the woman in front of me.
"No face—" Lu Zhiwei interrupted the seemingly ambiguous warmth in the woods when she approached them.
Luo Wuyan immediately abandoned Shen Jiarui and stood up to hug Lu Zhiwei: "Sister, I'm so lucky to be alive."
After each competition, they would hug each other tightly.
Racing is a life-or-death game; they don't even know which track they might never see each other again.
"You scared me to death." Lu Zhiwei patted her back lightly, finally letting out a sigh of relief.
Shen Jinmo came to Shen Jiarui's side and looked at his bandaged leg and the various scratches on his face.
"You both rolled down the mountain, so why are you in such much worse condition than her?" Shen Jinmo asked knowingly.
Shen Jiarui's earlobes turned red: "Can't I be delicate and precious?"
Shen Jinmo smiled slightly, but didn't expose her.
Seeing that Shen Jiarui was no longer fixated on Shen Shuyuan and had found new things to focus on, he, as the eldest brother, was also happy.
After being brought out of retirement, Shen Jiarui was immediately sent to the hospital for surgery.
Shen Jinmo ordered Lin Jing to thoroughly investigate the accident.
