Chapter 353 Determined to Take Revenge

In the hospital ward.

Lu Anyu woke up early in the morning. Sunlight streamed through the window and fell on him, casting a shadow on the little guy's curled eyelashes.

He sat quietly on the edge of the bed, holding a paintbrush and a pencil in his hand.

The little hand quickly sketched a drawing on the paper.

The nurse pushed the medicine over to give him the injection.

"Little Lu Anyu, it's time for your shot."

"Okay, nurse, could you be gentle? I'm afraid of pain."

Lu Anyu put down his paintbrush, took a sketch off the drawing board, and gave it to the nurse.

The nurse took the painting and saw that it depicted herself, and it looked exactly like a black and white photo taken at a photo studio.

"Little kid, you're so amazing!"

"I've already bribed the nurse, so please be gentle when you give me the injection, okay?"

"Don't worry, my skills are the best in our ward. President Luo has arranged the best doctors and nurses for you. It won't hurt, it'll feel like a mosquito bite."

"Um."

Lu Anyu stretched out his little hand.

When the needle pierced his vein, he bit his lip hard in pain, but he didn't cry.

If Mommy comes back, she'll laugh at him.

After the injection, the nurse pushed the cart to leave the ward.

Lu Anyu called out to her again: "Nurse, can I ask you a question?"

"Okay, go ahead and ask."

"Will I die?" Lu Anyu asked, his big, round, dark eyes wide open.

This question stumped the nurse.

Logically, she shouldn't tell a young child about his condition, as it would frighten him.

"If you cooperate actively with the treatment, you will definitely get better."

"How much longer can I live?" Lu Anyu asked again, using a different approach.

The little guy is very persistent, and he has a face that makes it impossible for anyone to hurt him.

The nurse took a piece of candy out of her pocket and handed it to Lu Anyu: "I'll give you a piece of candy every day from now on, until you finish all my candy."

Lu Anyu reached out and took the candy, unwrapped it, and put it in his mouth, chewing it vigorously, hoping to quickly absorb the sugar into his mouth and suppress the bitter taste.

Lu Zhiwei stood outside the ward door, leaning against the wall, quietly wiping away her tears.

After the nurse left the ward.

Lu Zhiwei then pushed open the door and went inside.

Upon seeing his mother return, the little guy immediately swallowed the unchewed candy, trying to erase the evidence of his candy-eating.

"Did you eat candy?"

Lu Zhiwei reached out and picked up the candy wrapper that he had dropped on the bed.

Lu Anyu hurriedly wiped his mouth: "Mommy, I'm sorry, I won't eat it anymore."

"I didn't let you eat it before because I was afraid you'd get aphids, but now you can eat it if you want." Lu Zhiwei magically produced a glass jar from behind her, filled with his favorite fruit candies.

Lu Anyu happily hugged the jar and kissed Lu Zhiwei: "Mommy, I love you."

"Why are you painting instead of resting properly?" Lu Zhiwei noticed the easel he had placed on his bedside table.

Lu Anyu seemed afraid that she would discover the drawing papers clipped to the drawing board, so he quickly turned around, snatched them, and hid them under the covers.

"Mommy, I'm just drawing randomly. When can I be discharged from the hospital? I want to go back to kindergarten. I don't want to stay here."

Lu Anyu was afraid that Lu Zhiwei would insist on looking at his drawing board, so he immediately changed the subject.

“An’an is sick and needs to stay in the hospital for treatment. I will help you apply for a leave of absence from kindergarten.”

"No, I have to go to school."

"You little rascal, I've never seen you so ambitious and eager to learn before." Lu Zhiwei rubbed Lu Anyu's head.

"Mommy, please say yes to An'an, please."

"Okay, okay, from now on, whatever An'an wants, Mommy will agree to it." Lu Zhiwei touched her son's face, her eyes glistening with tears of heartache.

Satisfied, Lu Anyu chuckled.

After feeding the little guy a bowl of millet porridge and finishing his morning IV drip, Lu Zhiwei let him sleep a little longer.

She stayed by the bedside the whole time, never leaving her side.

During this time, Luo Wuyan brought Shen Jiarui to visit once.

Luo Wuyan hugged Lu Anyu by the bedside and cried. After crying, she hugged Lu Zhiwei and cried, saying that she was sorry to Lu Zhiwei and that she had hurt An'an.

Lu Zhiwei was worried that Luo Wuyan would affect her son's mentality, so she asked Shen Jiarui to take her back first.

Wait until An'an is sound asleep.

Lu Zhiwei reached under the covers and took out the drawing board he had hidden.

A thick stack of drawing paper was clipped to the drawing board.

He must have drawn them all this morning.

The first picture shows what Lu Anyu looks like now. The little guy is good at drawing and is also very arrogant, so he drew himself to look exceptionally handsome.

In the lower right corner of the painting, Lu Anyu wrote four Chinese characters: An'an is five years old.

Turning to the next page, it's still Lu Anyu's appearance.

He seemed to have grown quite a bit taller at this time, and his features appeared more defined.

It says on it: An'an is six years old.

Scrolling down further, the ages of An'an are seven, eight, ten, and up to about eighteen.

Eighteen-year-old Lu Anyu is tall, handsome, and full of youthful energy.

Lu Zhiwei knew he probably hadn't finished painting yet; there were still scenes from nineteen to twenty years old, all the way to old age—

The little one wants to draw himself each year and leave it in the world as a keepsake for her.

Lu Zhiwei's tears fell uncontrollably, like a burst dam.

Her An'an is so sensible and kind.

Why did you do this to him?

Put down the easel.

Lu Zhiwei wiped away the tears from the corners of her eyes.

What's the use of crying?

What she had to do first and foremost was to cure her son's illness.

Secondly, those who murdered their son should pay a heavy price.
