Chapter 5 You're So Despicable

Lu Zhiwei saw the disdain in Shen Jinmo's eyes, picked up her pen and sketchbook, and walked toward the eyewitness.

"I'll show you who's really causing trouble!"

Before Qin Hai committed suicide, an eyewitness saw him meet someone.

Not long after the meeting, they went up to the rooftop, and as if their minds were being controlled, they jumped off without saying a word.

Listening carefully to the eyewitness's description, Lu Zhiwei held a pencil in her hand, skillfully sketched a face on the drawing paper.

Shen Jinmo squinted at Lu Zhiwei, who stood there confidently and gracefully, her figure slender and beautiful.

He never knew she could paint. She had never picked up a paintbrush at home before. The only time he saw her pick up a brush was when she used it to clean the dust off the ornaments.

She had been living abroad since childhood and had no literary talent whatsoever. Whenever guests visited or there was a large banquet at home, she would hide in her room and refuse to see anyone, claiming that she was not worthy of such a refined occasion.

So she was deliberately hiding her true abilities?

About ten minutes later, Lu Zhiwei smiled and handed the painting to the police.

The policeman smiled, took the painting, shook hands with her, and thanked her.

Lu Zhiwei put away her easel and withdrew from the crowd.

Shen Jinmo's tall and upright figure walked up to her, blocking the light from her eyes.

"I thought you only knew how to cuddle with me and ask for hugs, or to ask for money. When did you learn to draw?"

"I was self-taught while I was abroad. I only have a few tricks up my sleeve, and I wouldn't dare to show them off," Lu Zhiwei explained perfunctorily with a smile.

"Is it that you dare not, or that you do not want to?" A chill ran down Shen Jingmo's face.

Lu Zhiwei was silent for a few seconds: "Your only requirement for Mrs. Shen is that she be good in bed. You never care about her other talents. Why are you suddenly interested today?"

Shen Jinmo fell silent: "..."

Then, he turned around, retrieved his car, and drove it to Lu Zhiwei's feet: "Get in. We'll talk about it when we get back."

Lu Zhiwei opened the back door and got in.

Shen Jinmo growled, "Sit in the passenger seat. Who gave you permission to sit in the back? I'm not your driver, and you're not my boss."

"Your passenger seat no longer belongs to me. I know my limits," Lu Zhiwei said sarcastically.

Shen Jinmo didn't say anything more, turned the steering wheel with one hand, and drove the car into the traffic.

Lu Zhiwei looked out the window. "Have you signed the divorce agreement? If you have, let's go to the Civil Affairs Bureau now to get the divorce certificate."

Her life is back on track, and it's time to say goodbye to the past completely.

Speaking of divorce agreements.

Shen Jinmo was furious: "Do you think I would sign?"

"If you don't sign, I've already started having affairs. If I accidentally cheat on you, people will laugh at me when I go out," Lu Zhiwei kindly reminded him.

Shen Jinmo angrily slammed the car horn.

The piercing horn sounded, carrying with it a violent resentment.

"Lu Zhiwei, this is the first time I've ever seen you so despicable." The car stopped on the side of the road, and the atmosphere became tense.

Lu Zhiwei's face paled slightly, and her lowered eyes betrayed a deep sadness.

Three years of marriage, and all I got in return was a call of being despicable.

“Since there are no economic disputes in the agreement, let’s go to the Civil Affairs Bureau now to get our marriage certificate. It’s 10 a.m. now, we have enough time.” Lu Zhiwei held her breath, not letting out all her emotions.

At least, she has to endure it until Shen Jinmo and she get their divorce certificate.

"You're dreaming! Get out of here." Shen Jingmo gave him the order to leave.

Lu Zhiwei wasn't angry and obediently opened the car door and got out.

Anyway, it won't be long before Shen Jinmo comes begging to get a divorce.

He turned around and hailed a taxi back to the Lu family home.

Lu Family Villa.

The servants were busy decorating the entire banquet hall.

When Lu Yunsheng saw his daughter return, he greeted her with a smile, "Daughter, do you have any opinions on the arrangement of the hall? If there's anything you're not happy about, I'll have it changed immediately."

Lu Zhiwei glanced around dismissively. "I'm satisfied. I'm going back to my room to sleep."

Lu Yunsheng was going to throw her a world-renowned homecoming banquet.

Watching Lu Zhiwei's retreating figure, Lu Yunsheng sighed.

No matter how well he behaves, he can never make up for what he owes his daughter.

After returning home, her daughter was always polite but distant towards her.

I go back to my room and sleep for the whole day.

When Lu Zhiwei woke up, the maid had already entered the room, carrying an evening gown, high heels, and jewelry to style her hair.

Lu Jingyao walked in carrying a jewelry box.

“Little sister, these are homecoming gifts from my mother and me.” Lu Jingyao opened the box.

The red velvet gift box displays a top-quality ruby pendant and a white jade bracelet, both appearing to be quite valuable.

Back then, after Lu Zhiwei's biological mother, Su Wan, divorced Lu Yunsheng while pregnant, she had just left the country when Lu Yunsheng's secretary, Zhao Xiuying, moved into the Lu family home while heavily pregnant and soon gave birth to Lu Jingyao.

Lu Jingyao was born a few days earlier than Lu Zhiwei. Zhao Xiuying claimed that her daughter was premature, but only the doctor who delivered her knew that Lu Jingyao was born healthy and at full term.

Three years ago, Su Wan, who had been bedridden for a long time, passed away abroad. Before her death, she sent a letter back to the Lu family.

Only then did Lu Yunsheng and the entire Lu family learn of Lu Zhiwei's existence.

"Thank you." Lu Zhiwei accepted the thanks without hesitation.

Lu Jingyao bit her lip, her face pale, thinking that she would at least be polite.

“I was worried that my sister wouldn’t accept it. People in China like to be polite, and I forgot that my sister has been living abroad for many years, so her lifestyle is naturally different from ours. I just like my sister’s straightforward and easygoing personality.”

How could she possibly like this younger sister who suddenly appeared and was fighting her for the inheritance? All she was doing was putting on a show to please her father.
