Chapter 52 Grandmother is Murdered

"As our defeated opponent, what are your thoughts?" Luo Wuyan sensed a strange, clear stupidity in the boy's eyes, patted him on the shoulder, and deliberately teased him.

Shen Jiarui straightened his back: "I have no feelings. Let's play another round. I'm going to get my humiliation back from you two."

"Second Young Master Shen, I have a feeling you're trying to add another stain to the pillar of shame?" Luo Wuyan mocked mercilessly.

Shen Jiarui clenched his fingers and gritted his teeth: "You brat, don't be so arrogant. I'll teach you a lesson later."

Luo Wuyan laughed hysterically and insisted on dragging Lu Zhiwei out of the mountains.

"Weiwei, this guy wants to take on two people at once. How about we give him a chance to realize just how useless he really is?"

With nothing else to do today, Lu Zhiwei could certainly give it a try.

Shen Jiarui gritted his teeth and ordered people to prepare race cars for them.

Dark clouds gathered, and lightning flashed and thunder roared.

A torrential downpour began.

Three identical race cars sped off from the starting line.

Braving the wind and rain, we rushed forward.

Inside the Cayenne.

My phone, which was on the seat, kept vibrating.

The phone rang again and again, but no one answered.

At the summit of Yunshan Mountain, mist swirled around the mountainside after the rain.

Lu Zhiwei's race car pulled ahead of the pack, and she was the first to cross the finish line.

Luo Wuyan followed closely behind, with only a two-second difference between them.

Despite giving it his all, Shen Jiarui was still the last to reach the finish line.

After being brutally defeated again, he was so angry that he pounded on the steering wheel and sat in the car, too afraid to get out.

I was afraid they would humiliate me in a way that was too harsh.

After Luo Wuyan got out of the car, he walked to the car door and knocked on the window: "Kid, get out of the car and accept the shameful trial."

Shen Jiarui ignored him.

Luo Wuyan picked up a stone from the roadside and was about to smash it against his car window.

Shen Jiarui obediently opened the car door and got out: "Sister-in-law, is this what you meant by 'knowing a little'?"

Lu Zhiwei crossed her arms, her red lips curving slightly: "Compared to before, she's really fallen far behind." She had indeed regressed somewhat.

"..." Shen Jiarui was speechless.

Can we please stop with this Versailles-like attitude? With her current performance, she could easily finish in the top three in any international competition.

We came down from the mountain.

The rain has stopped.

Lu Zhiwei walked to her Cayenne, opened the car door, and took her phone from the seat.

She didn't bring her phone with her when she was racing.

Unlock your phone.

She saw many missed calls.

The calls came from nursing home caregivers, Shen Jinmo, and Captain Liu from the police station.

Why would three people with no apparent connection call her so many times at the same time?

A very bad premonition welled up in Lu Zhiwei's heart.

She immediately called the nursing home back.

The call was connected.

The familiar yet unsettling sound of police sirens echoed from the other end of the phone.

"Miss Lu, your grandmother has passed away."

boom--

A thunderbolt cleaved through the darkness.

Lu Zhiwei's heart sank suddenly, and she slumped into the car seat.

Seeing her body go limp, Luo Wuyan rushed over and hugged her, asking, "Weiwei, what's wrong?"

Tears streamed down my face uncontrollably.

Grandma was eating the food she made at noon, saying she wanted to eat it often in the future.

How could this be? How could it be so sudden?

Lu Zhiwei clutched her convulsing heart and managed to squeeze out a few words: "Take me to a nursing home. I can't drive right now. Grandma... is gone."

"Okay." Upon hearing this devastating news, Luo Wuyan frowned and, without delay, immediately helped Lu Zhiwei into the passenger seat.

Shen Jiarui felt uneasy seeing Luo Wuyan, a grown man, hugging his sister-in-law.

After all, this was a woman her brother had once possessed; how could she let other men lay a finger on her? He had to keep a close eye on this pretty boy for his brother's sake.

He stepped over and said, "You two sit in the back, I'll drive for you."

Lu Zhiwei needed comforting at this moment, so Luo Wuyan didn't say much and took Lu Zhiwei to sit in the back seat.

Shen Jiarui personally drove them to the sanatorium.

The rain started falling again outside the car window, the torrential rain pounding against the window like thorns piercing Lu Zhiwei's heart.

She didn't spend much time with her grandmother, but she really liked the old lady.

They possess the simplicity and tradition of rural people, and are kind and gentle in nature.

This was the first time she had felt the love of a true family since losing her mother.

This is something you can't experience at the Lu family home.

The car was parked at the sanatorium.

The entrance to the large sanatorium was cordoned off by the police.

If it were a simple death from illness, there would be absolutely no way so many police officers would come.

After getting out of the car, Lu Zhiwei calmed herself down and went straight up to the third floor to enter the ward.

On the hospital bed, the old lady lay peacefully, covered with a white sheet. The police were investigating the surroundings, checking everything that seemed suspicious.

Liu Changqing, who was in charge of the case, saw that Lu Zhiwei's face was pale and her lips were bloodless. He came over and handed her a pair of gloves: "Go and check on the old lady, but don't touch the body directly. The old lady's heart was pierced by a sharp weapon. We need to have the forensic doctor conduct further examination, but we can preliminarily determine that it was not suicide or death from illness, but homicide."

Lu Zhiwei, wearing gloves, slowly lifted the white cloth.

The corpse on the hospital bed was deathly pale, its eyes slightly open, and it had multiple cuts of varying depths on its chest, especially the fatal wound that had torn open the flesh and was bottomless.

It's clear how much pain the old lady must have felt when she died.

Lu Zhiwei stood on the edge of the bed, unable to suppress her grief any longer, and burst into tears.

Who exactly is it?

They didn't even spare an elderly woman with poor health.
