Chapter 6 Tear Apart

Shen Jinmo put down his wine glass, picked up the invitation Qi Mingli had placed on the table, and looked down at it carefully.

The three characters "Lu Zhiwei" were jarring and unfamiliar.

The Shen and Lu families are irreconcilable enemies.

Lu Zhiwei knew perfectly well that Lu Yunsheng was the culprit who indirectly caused her father's death.

Yet she still concealed her identity and remained his wife for so many years.

No wonder she never saw any guests at the Shen family home.

No wonder she was so focused on hiding her talents.

He even suspected that the car accident three years ago was something she had meticulously planned.

That was the key to her infiltrating the Shen family.

"Lu Zhiwei, you've been hiding your true colors well." Shen Jinmo clenched the invitation in his hand, his dark face burning with boundless rage, a fury that seemed capable of destroying the world.

"Give me the invitation, and I'll go to the banquet in your place."

“Hey…” Qi Mingli tried to stop him.

But the person has already gone far away.

Lu Family Villa.

One after another, top-of-the-line luxury cars drove into the villa's backyard parking lot.

This grand banquet was attended by the elite of Yunzhou, all of whom were wealthy and powerful.

At the entrance of the villa, a row of bodyguards stood checking invitations. Apart from specially invited reporters and guests, all other people were kept out.

A black Bugatti supercar arrogantly roared to the door.

The car window was rolled down halfway.

He revealed half of his handsome face, with sunglasses perched on his high nose bridge. He wore an expensive suit, and the Patek Philippe watch on his wrist highlighted his extraordinary status. His long, slender, pale hands rested lazily on the steering wheel, exuding a cool and unruly aura.

"Sir, please show me your invitation." The bodyguard said respectfully.

Shen Jinmo handed the invitation out the car window, holding it between his fingers.

The bodyguard took it with both hands and glanced at it; it was Qi Mingli, the young master of Qi's Entertainment.

Then compare it to the person inside the car window with a furrowed brow.

It doesn't seem like it!

Young Master Qi's brows are not like this; they look like they've caught a dead fly.

"Is it ready yet?" Shen Jinmo asked impatiently.

The other party wouldn't open the gate, so his car couldn't get in.

The bodyguards were being cautious, not wanting to let in members of their arch-rival, the Shen family.

I quickly took out my phone and went online to look up Qi Mingli's photos.

After finding out, compare them carefully.

A whole row of luxury cars were stuck behind them.

“You look different from the photo,” the bodyguard said.

"In person, I am naturally more handsome than in the photos." Shen Jinmo's expression was arrogant and calm, with no trace of panic on his handsome face as he was about to be exposed.

Even if he is recognized, he can still choose to do the same thing as he did the year his father died.

He drove through the gate, causing chaos at the Lu family's house.

Beep beep—

The car behind kept honking its horn.

The bodyguards had no choice but to temporarily open the gate to avoid missing the grand event in the banquet hall.

The magnificent banquet hall was brightly lit and filled with celebrities.

Shen Jinmo, who rarely makes a public appearance at banquets or in front of the media, did not attract much attention. He found a quiet corner to sit down and wait.

A considerable commotion ensued.

Lu Yunsheng, the head of the Lu family, dressed in a suit and tie, was escorted by a girl in her early twenties as they gracefully descended the spiral staircase.

"This is Lu Zhiwei, the daughter born to President Lu's first wife!"

"It's so beautiful!"

Amidst the praises of the guests.

Wearing a white Suzhou-embroidered cheongsam, Lu Zhiwei's hair was styled up, her makeup was exquisite, and her slender figure was breathtakingly beautiful under the outline of the traditional Chinese cheongsam.

Her beauty is the kind that is bright, flamboyant, and extremely aggressive, with an inherent sharpness that no one can rival.

Shen Jinmo, who was sitting in the corner, stared intently at Lu Zhiwei, unable to resist being drawn in.

He could deny everything about Lu Zhiwei, but he would never deny her beauty and figure.

Lu Yunsheng, beaming with pride, gripped the microphone and addressed the guests: "Thank you all for taking time out of your busy schedules to attend this banquet in honor of my daughter, Lu Zhiwei. She is my most beloved daughter. She suffered some hardships abroad before, but from now on, she will be the apple of my eye, and I will never let her suffer even the slightest grievance again..."

Lu Zhiwei was not paying attention as she listened to Lu Yunsheng's speech.

Her beautiful eyes swept across the guests and crowd, and she seemed to spot a familiar figure.

As she expected, the man came attracted by the scent.

Shen Jinmo's deep and gloomy gaze met hers, as if he wanted to tear her apart from afar.

Lu Zhiwei turned her head away, rejecting his murderous gaze, and took Lu Yunsheng's arm to entertain the guests.

Lu Jingyao, whose limelight had been stolen, listened to her father, Lu Yunsheng, openly praising Lu Yunwei as his most beloved daughter. She gritted her teeth, a surge of jealousy rising in her heart.

"Mom, she's taking everything away from me. I'm not willing to accept this. Please think of something." Lu Jingyao playfully tugged at the elegant Zhao Xiuying beside her.

Zhao Xiuying patted the back of her hand and whispered to comfort her, "Your dad is telling me to avoid Lu Zhiwei as much as possible, because he's afraid she'll be unhappy if she sees me. What can I do right now? Don't worry. I'll always find a way to deal with her. Haste makes waste. Everything the Lu family owns will eventually be ours."

"If you're not going, then I will." Lu Jingyao, young and impetuous, couldn't hold back her anger and took a glass of red wine from the waiter, heading straight for Lu Zhiwei.

"Make way, everyone make way. Weiwei is my sister, so I should be the first to toast her." Lu Jingyao pushed her way into the crowd, deliberately tripping herself.

He spilled the entire glass of red wine over there.

Lu Zhiwei reacted quickly, turning around and hiding behind Lu Yunsheng.

After she returned home, Lu Yunsheng told her that if the sky fell, her father would hold it up, and now it was his turn to hold it up.

During her years living abroad, she, as a young girl, struggled to support her ailing mother, enduring hunger and cold, and even begging on the streets. If she hadn't met that person, she might not have survived.
