As night fell, the dock was completely dark, with only scattered lights flickering in the wind on the opposite shore.
A hooded kidnapper helped a woman off a speedboat from the shore.
Shen Jinmo waited on the beach with a maid who had been painted to resemble Lu Zhiwei.
The man ripped the sack off Xia Wanying's head, revealing a panicked little face.
Xia Wanying burst into tears upon seeing Shen Jinmo: "Brother Shen, you've finally come!"
The kidnapper beckoned to Shen Jingmo: "Bring Lu Zhiwei over. We'll release this woman then."
Shen Jinmo secretly examined the kidnapper's ear and, sure enough, there was a scorpion tattoo behind the man's ear.
His cold, sharp eyes narrowed, and his thin lips curled slightly. "What if I said I wouldn't send Lu Zhiwei over?"
Upon hearing this, both the kidnapper and Xia Wanying were visibly stunned.
Even Lu Zhiwei, who was disguised as William, was surprised.
"Do you want your beloved woman to die by my hand?" The kidnapper pulled out a black gun, the dark muzzle pointed at Xia Wanying's temple.
“She is not the woman I love. How could a woman with intellectual disabilities be worthy of me? Lu Zhiwei was my wife for at least three years. I still can’t bear to part with her.”
Lu Zhiwei, who was silently watching the show, got goosebumps all over her body. If she didn't know that he was a cold-hearted person, she would have almost believed him.
"I have made my choice. Do it." Shen Jinmo announced coldly.
Lu Zhiwei recalled the same scene on the rooftop.
Both had a gun pointed at their heads.
He spoke cold and heartless words, just as he did today.
She thought Xia Wanying would be an exception.
It seems she was wrong.
Lu Zhiwei suddenly felt a pang of sympathy for Xia Wanying.
She put on a show, but Shen Jinmo ruthlessly kicked over the stage and even wanted to tear off her mask on stage himself.
"Brother Chen, how could you treat Yingying like this? What did Yingying do wrong?" Xia Wanying shook her head and cried bitterly, tears streaming down her face like broken beads.

The kidnappers couldn't bear to kill Xia Wanying.
Now, pointing a gun directly at Lu Zhiwei is clearly an act of standing up for Xia Wanying.
"Shen Jinmo, don't you love your ex-wife? Then I'll personally send her on her way. You'll pay the price for your choice today." The kidnapper cocked his gun.
Shen Jinmo made a gesture.
Police officers who had been lying in wait nearby began to emerge.
Armed, they prepared to close the net.
"I won't allow you to hurt Sister Lu." Upon seeing this, Xia Wanying suddenly rushed out and tightly hugged the kidnapper and "Lu Zhiwei".
He pushed hard into the sea behind him.

Xia Wanying plotted to test Shen Jinmo's favoritism towards her, unaware that Shen Jinmo was the mastermind behind it all.
Lu Zhiwei gave Shen Jinmo a serious look.
Ruthlessness and indifference are ingrained in his bones; no woman can truly receive favor from him.
That kind of man is terrifying.
She slowly turned around, preparing to go back on her own.
Shen Jinmo suddenly called out to him, "Mr. William, do you need a ride?"
Lu Zhiwei waved her hand: "I'll take the police car back."
The police car should be warmer than his car.
Inside the black Maybach.
Xia Wanying was wearing a dry coat, but her whole body was still dripping wet, and her face was eerily pale.
Lin Jing, who was driving, was tense all over, and a chilling atmosphere filled the car.
"Did you enjoy the performance?" Shen Jinmo's deep, cold voice rang out.
Xia Wanying's eyes trembled: "Brother Chen, I don't understand what you're talking about."
"How long are you going to keep lying to me?" Shen Jinmo asked calmly.
He wasn't as angry as he had imagined; he knew she wasn't mentally unstable. The guilt he had been suppressing deep inside him was now being released in a frenzy.
"Brother Chen, are you angry because Yingying climbed over the wall and got kidnapped by bad guys? If so, Yingying apologizes and will never do it again." Xia Wanying tugged at his sleeve and said sweetly.
"Aren't you tired of pretending?" Shen Jinmo shook off her hand, not letting her get any closer.
Sensing his deliberate aloofness, Xia Wanying burst into tears. "Brother Chen, what's wrong with you? Why are you saying such strange things? I'm so scared."
"First, you staged a kidnapping yourself, making me mistakenly believe that Lu Zhiwei kidnapped you. When you saw that I didn't fall for it, you changed it to making me choose between you and Lu Zhiwei. You shouldn't have crossed my line." Shen Jinmo said with a sullen face, rubbing his temples.
