☆ A complete makeover, spending money like water
"Mommy, my birthday is in a little over ten days. Can I invite my friends over?" Chengcheng asked Gu Li when she tucked the little guy into bed that evening.
"Okay." Gu Li never refused her son's birthday wishes. She leaned down and kissed Chengcheng on the forehead. At first, she was a little worried that the little guy wouldn't be able to adapt to the school atmosphere. Chengcheng was the center of attention wherever he went. All the girls adored this handsome little boy, but the boys his age didn't like him. So Chengcheng was often bullied and ignored. Gu Li was always worried that he wouldn't be able to make friends, but she didn't expect him to become friends with his friends so quickly.
China truly deserves to be called a land of etiquette.
"Yay!" Chengcheng was overjoyed. He hugged Gu Li's neck as she lowered her head and kissed her radiant face several times. "Mommy, I love you."
"Go to sleep. If you can't get up tomorrow, I won't wake you up." Gu Li touched her face, which was covered in drool, and said with great disgust.
After turning off the light for the little one, Gu Li returned to her room, lay down on the bed, and stared blankly at the ceiling, lost in suffocating memories.
If she could, she would rather never remember that painful past.
She was so naive back then, believing that people could reciprocate each other's sincerity. She thought that if you gave your heart, the other person would reciprocate with the same sincerity. But what did she get in return?
She was ruthlessly pushed into the sea by her newlywed husband.
She struggled in the sea, while he laughed on the cruise ship.
What a cruel scene.
She would never forget that utterly heartless, ruthless smile that showed she wanted to kill them. Even if she couldn't get revenge, she would curse the Chu family to a terrible death for the rest of her life.
Of course, besides Chengcheng...
besides……
Her heart started pounding uncontrollably, and her mind wandered, conjuring up a handsome, arrogant, and domineering face. Gu Li was annoyed; why did she have to think of him?
My heart was beating faster and faster, my face turned red, and my mouth felt dry.
She hadn't consciously tried to think about it, but for some reason, her mind was filled with the scene she saw when she entered his house. He was wearing a gray loungewear set, the zipper half-open, revealing his toned abs—incredibly sexy. Actually, Hades and Chu Yaofeng had similar physiques. Over the years, Gu Li had become accustomed to men with good bodies, almost numb to it, like someone who'd eaten pork all the time and no longer found it novel. But today, for some reason, she was stimulated by his good physique, even having some inappropriate thoughts.

Two weeks later, on this Friday, the weather was sunny and the sun wasn't too strong, perfect for a trip with friends.
"Xiao Li, why are you so late? The president has been waiting for you for half an hour." Gu Li hadn't even had time to put down her bag when Nana came running over to tell her.
Gu Li glanced at her watch subconsciously; she wasn't late.
Gu Li was a specially recruited assistant to the president, whose main job was to serve the president and be at his beck and call. There was nothing particularly important about her work, so she started work half an hour later than the secretaries.
She hesitated for a moment, then, remembering how she had accidentally broken Chu Yaofeng's coffee cup on her way home from get off work last night, she asked with lingering fear, "Nana, is the president angry about the cup?"
"No, I don't think so." Nana remembered that the CEO smiled at her today and said her clothes were nice, looking both smug and sweet. She twirled around and asked, "Xiao Li, don't you think my outfit is especially pretty today?"
"Uh...yes." Gu Li was puzzled. She saw her wearing this light green tight-fitting dress every week, so it was nothing new. Why was she only asking about it today?
"The CEO also said it looks good." Nana laughed, her face beaming with joy, as if good things were about to happen.
Gu Li's heart skipped a beat. Nana was the prettiest and had the biggest breasts in the entire secretarial team. If Chu Yaofeng wanted to target someone close to him, she would definitely be the first person he chose.
Thinking of this, Gu Li felt a pang of bitterness.
"The president needs to see you urgently, you should go quickly," Nana urged, snapping out of her infatuation.
Gu Li nodded to her, put down her bag, and went to the president's office.
Standing at the door, she suddenly hesitated, her raised hand lingering there.
Chu Yaofeng was in such a hurry to find her that he had a new prey and was ordering her to run errands. She used to be able to do it with ease, but now she felt a tightness in her chest.
Why is this happening?
"You're here, why don't you come in?"
The door was suddenly pulled open from the inside. Chu Yaofeng was wearing a silver-gray suit with a white shirt underneath, which was not surprising. What was surprising was that he was wearing a red bow tie today, and his hair was obviously styled and carefully styled.
Gu Li looked down and saw the white leather shoes on his feet. In her memory, this was the first time she'd ever seen him wear anything other than black shoes. (Ah, you're probably going to say slippers, but that doesn't count!)
She glanced at him briefly. The visual impact of black and light gray could only be described as transformative. If black made people feel aloof and domineering, then light gray was much more approachable. It was a restrained kind of domineering, not ostentatious or arrogant, but elegant and friendly, making people want to drown in it and fall at his feet.
Gu Li felt as if her eyes were being burned by fire, and she lost her senses. Chu Yaofeng called her twice before she looked at him blankly.
"What are you thinking about?" Chu Yaofeng frowned. She was ignoring him and daydreaming. Did she deserve a beating?
"I wasn't thinking anything." Gu Li shook her head hastily, afraid that he would expose her, and hurriedly asked, "What do you need me for, President?"
"Go order me a bouquet of flowers." Chu Yaofeng's mind was elsewhere, so he didn't make things difficult for her.
She definitely has a new love interest.
Gu Li felt a pang of heartache at her own uncanny foresight, and gasped as she asked, "What flower?"
"What kind of flower?" Chu Yaofeng hesitated for a moment before replying, "Anything, you decide." She was a woman too, she should know what flowers women liked.
"Then let's order roses." Anyway, he always told every woman to order roses.
"Let's try another one."
"Change what?"
"Didn't I tell you to make the decision?" Chu Yaofeng glanced at her.
“My suggestion is roses.” Gu Li’s tone was a little stiff, even she herself didn’t realize it, but Chu Yaofeng noticed it.
He paused for a moment, then laughed and said deliberately, "Rose is too vulgar."
You know it's vulgar, don't you?
Gu Li silently scoffed, "What flower matches what person? All of his previous rumored girlfriends were vulgar."
“I’m serious this time,” Chu Yaofeng suddenly blurted out.
Gu Li felt as if she had been struck by lightning, her heart sank to the bottom of the valley, and her face quickly lost its color, turning pale and cold.
Her fingers suddenly dug into his heart. She pursed her lips, while he curled his lips into a smile, looking like a captivating figure, yet she felt a suffocating pain in her heart.
Chu Yaofeng looked down at her small face, his eyes filled with unfathomable emotions. Looking at her bloodless lips, heaven knows how hard he had to hold back from kissing her.
"Why are you looking at me like that? Do you notice something different about me today?" He chuckled, breaking the strange silence.
Gu Li realized he had lost his composure and immediately took a step back, stammering, "Yes, yes."
"What's different? Tell me." He looked very interested and listened attentively.
Gu Li frowned and pursed her lips.
Damn it, who's going to stare at you every day when you change clothes?
Well, even so, Gu Li really did pay attention to his daily appearance, from the color of his suit to the color of his shoes, cufflinks, and even the color of his socks.
Oh my god, how could she have such a hobby!
"The color of the president's suit today is very festive." In Gu Li's opinion, apart from black being an unlucky color, all other colors are good.
"Hmm." Chu Yaofeng crossed his arms, nodded, and said with a half-smile, "Continue."
"Uh, the bow tie looks good too." Her handsome husband has one too, but it's blue, and it looks much cleaner than this one. It's so strange for a grown man to wear such a bright color. Does his new girlfriend like it? Ugh, is that woman a Barbie fanatic? How childish!
"Anything else?" Chu Yaofeng's eyes crinkled with laughter.
"Your hair is styled very well, this hairstyle suits you well, finally covering up your big head." Hmph, this is endless and clearly going too far. I should have just given you a couple of compliments, but you still won't stop. No wonder she's so sharp-tongued.
Chu Yaofeng's smug expression vanished instantly. He raised an eyelid and retorted with a serious expression, "Do I have a big head?"
"Didn't I tell you? With this hairstyle, you can't tell at all." Now it was Gu Li's turn to laugh. NO. zuo ni ga si! no. die!
Chu Yaofeng's handsome face darkened as he glared at her, then smiled warmly again, running his hands up his hair from both sides of his head in a very cool gesture. "She just likes my big head."
"..." Gu Li wasn't in the mood to argue with him, and said coldly, "Besides ordering flowers, is there anything else you need?"
"Book a restaurant, book an amusement park, and book a ship. I want the whole place to myself, understand?"
"clear."
Wow, another makeover and extravagant spending, this time they're really serious!
In the past, Gu Li would have felt immense sympathy for the woman he had set his sights on, but this time, she felt inexplicably envious…
