Chapter 114 Don't Try Any Tricks

After walking for more than twenty days, they finally emerged from the desert. Those who were still alive had all lost a lot of skin; they were considered lucky.

Those who didn't survive were buried directly in the yellow sand.

Looking at the condition of the third branch of the family, it was actually better than that of the officials.

Ma Dazhuang was jealous. The third wife's family wasn't exiled; they were just traveling to a different place.

There was no shortage of good food and drink along the way. Mu Wanting was so lucky that she always managed to find wild game, wild vegetables, and a whole cart full of food by chance.

Even the officials had to try and get a piece of the action.

As they passed through the city gate, they were stopped by the officials. The officials were holding notices and comparing the names of those being exiled with those of ordinary people.

Sensing something was wrong, he irritably pushed the person away.

"Walk."

The officials were quite surprised, wondering what was going on.

Mu Wanting took out five taels of silver and asked the officials.

"Sir, may I ask what happened?"

The soldier figured it wasn't a secret, so he spoke up.

"Our prefect's son has been poisoned and has been in a coma for over two months. We are currently searching for him as much as possible."

Mu Wanting's heart skipped a beat; her symptoms were so similar to her third brother's.

She said, "May I see the portrait?"

Mu Wanting glanced at him, then raised an eyebrow. This person seemed so familiar.

He was previously more famous than his mother, but after his mother rose to prominence, he repeatedly provoked her, and over time, the two developed a personal feud. This person's poisons and Gu techniques are very potent, and his medical skills are also quite good.

Mu Wanting reasonably suspects that this person is the one who harmed her second and third brothers.

Mu Wanting wasn't sure, so she asked the soldier.

"I know medicine; may I examine your illness, young master?"

The soldiers didn't believe it, but Ma Dazhuang recommended him.

"Indeed, Mu Wanting is very good; she can even cure paralyzed people."

The soldiers then believed them and took Mu Wanting to the prefectural government, while Ma Dazhuang and his men went to the inn.

Mu Wanting went to get a diagnosis and found that it was indeed the same poison as her third brother's.

After thinking for a moment, she immediately decided to use herself as bait.

"I would like to see the prefect."

Prefect Song looked at Mu Wanting with some suspicion.

Are you sure it will really work?

Mu Wanting nodded.

"Of course, all you need to do is spread the word that the daughter of the number one divine doctor has now arrived in this prefecture."

Prefect Song's gaze toward Mu Wanting was not friendly.

"Hopefully this will work; otherwise, you know what will happen."

Mu Wanting smiled and said, "Of course it's useful. No one knows just how much that woman named Jiao Dai hates her mother."

All she needs to do now is stay in the mansion.

On the first day, Prefect Song, following Mu Wanting's instructions, spread the word that the daughter of the foremost divine physician had cured his son.

The next day, her son recovered and appeared on the street.

At first, no one believed it, but when they saw Young Master Song walking down the street with the same voice and appearance, they had no choice but to believe it.

Mu Wanting removed her height-increasing insoles and peeled off her human skin mask.

"Now, we just have to wait for the fish to take the bait."

Sure enough, that very night, a woman sneaked into the mansion and then manipulated others into revealing Mu Wanting's room.

Mu Wanting only needs to stay quietly in the room.

Mu Wanting heard a rustling sound, turned her head and saw that the venomous snakes and scorpions were almost at the bedside.

Taking advantage of the darkness, she slipped into the space.

There was no scream from Mu Wanting in the room. Jiao Dai was stunned and realized she had been tricked. She immediately tried to escape, but when she turned around, she was face to face with Mu Wanting and had a face full of sleeping pills.

Jiao Dai had some resistance to the drug, but Mu Wanting was quick and the drug was modified; it could knock out a cow, let alone Jiao Dai.

When Jiao Dai woke up again, she saw Mu Wanting, whose face was pale.

"As expected, she's the little bastard born of an old scumbag."

Mu Wanting slapped him across the face: "You're not as skilled as others, and you're narrow-minded, so who can you blame?"

Jiao Dai sneered: "If it weren't for her, I wouldn't have lost everything. I hate her the most now. I just can't find her, otherwise I would definitely catch her and tear her to pieces."

Mu Wanting pointed to her third and second brothers: "Did you poison them?"

Jiao Dai glanced at it, her eyes surging with hatred.

"I only regret that I didn't poison them, but instead thought about torturing them."

Mu Wanting slapped Jiao Dai across the face again.

Jiao Dai turned her head away, and just as Mu Wanting was about to slap her, a scorpion brandished its hook.

Mu Wanting scoffed and struck with her palm, smashing the scorpion to pieces.

"Trying to ambush me? You can't even beat me, yet you think you can compete with my mother?"

Jiao Dai was furious, her face turning ashen. Mu Wanting realized that the old poisoner was about to release poison again, so she immediately moved aside.

Jiao Dai's poisonous smoke was in vain, and was even fanned back by Mu Wanting with a fan.

Mu Yunxiao said, "Wan Ting, don't waste your energy on her, just let her confess."

As he spoke, he held a truth serum in his hand.

Jiao Dai and Xia Chan had known each other for so long, so naturally they knew what this was.

His expression was mocking.

"Do you think I don't know your mother's tricks? I've already thought of a solution. If you don't believe me, come and try."

Despite receiving several injections of truth serum, Jiao Dai's pupils did not dilate, even though she was clearly in great discomfort.

Mu Yunxiao was also getting anxious; this was the first time he had encountered such a troublesome person.
