Mu Wanting smiled and agreed, reaching out to touch Shen Yujiao's hair.
"Good sister, your second sister-in-law will not treat you badly."
Shen Yujiao puffed up her cheeks, her round eyes wide open, looking like she was about to explode.
Then Mu Wanting took out a handful of dried fish and handed it to her.
Shen Yujiao's anger instantly turned into joy, and she swallowed several times, smiling and acting coquettishly towards Mu Wanting.
"Thank you, Second Sister-in-law. You're so kind."
Mu Wanting couldn't help but laugh. She had to admit that her sister-in-law was a bit willful, but also straightforward and naive in a way that was quite endearing.
Shen Yujiao wasn't the only one craving this dried meat; the other members of the third branch of the family were also secretly swallowing their saliva.
Mu Wanting had plenty in her space, and then pretended to grab a large handful from her basket.
If the other items had a source, she could have produced even more.
Shen Xinghe was also very tempted, so Shen Xingyi grabbed a handful and gave it to him, which he took.
He subconsciously looked up at Mu Wanting and saw her looking at him with a half-smile, but quickly looked away.
Shen Xinghe's cheeks quickly turned red, but the dried fish smelled so good that he couldn't resist the aroma and stuffed one into his mouth.
The aroma of the fish and seasonings instantly filled his mouth. He had never tasted anything so delicious before, let alone now.
After realizing he had finished eating, Shen Xinghe licked his lips, wanting to eat more, but he just couldn't bring himself to open his mouth.
Fortunately, Shen Yujiao also remembered her third brother and gave him another handful of dried fish.
Seeing that Mu Wanting didn't say anything, Shen Xinghe felt a bit more favorably disposed towards Mu Wanting, and also regretted that his attitude had been too harsh just now.
Even if he couldn't call her "Second Sister-in-law," at least his tone would have been nicer...
Shen Xinglan woke up when she heard the noise.
Mu Wanting, with her keen senses, was the first to notice, and she promptly handed Shen Xinglan a handful of dried fish. After all, she still needed to cultivate a good relationship with him to find out her mother's whereabouts.
Shen Xinglan was somewhat surprised, then moved.
She was indeed watching him closely. Before anyone else even realized it, she had already brought him food, afraid that he would go hungry.
He took the dried fish and started eating it, glancing at Mu Wanting, who was quietly weaving there.
Her cheeks were fair, her lips were red and her teeth were white, and her long eyelashes were like wings, but she was surrounded by a tranquil and indifferent temperament, as if nothing in the world mattered to her.
When she has nothing to do, Mu Wanting is always very quiet and rarely says anything.
Mu Wanting noticed that Shen Xinglan had been looking at her. Thinking that there weren't enough dried fish, she smiled and grabbed a handful more and put it in his hand.
Her smile was so radiant that it made his heart skip a beat for no reason.
When he took the dried fish, he touched Mu Wanting's fingers again.
The tingling sensation spread from his fingers throughout his entire body, until it brought tears to the corners of his eyes.
He thanked him in a hoarse voice.
Mu Wanting smiled but didn't say anything.
He discovered that Mu Wanting was more captivating and mesmerizing than when she was pursuing him madly.
That night, everyone else was asleep, but Shen Xinglan couldn't sleep. He glanced at Mu Wanting, who was sleeping next to the stroller. She had lost her composure and was now obedient and cute.
By the time he came to his senses, his index finger had already traced her cheek.
Her skin was as smooth as a peeled egg, which made his heart itch.
He withdrew his hand, closed his eyes, and forced himself to fall asleep, his fingertips still feeling the smooth touch of her skin.
He was being very careful, completely unaware that Mu Wanting's consciousness had already sunk into the space to read and study.
She was completely unaware of such a slight touch.
The exiled caravan continued its journey, and after a few days, they indeed found that there were no more rivers ahead.
Xu Wencui and Zhang Caiyun looked at Mu Wanting with schadenfreude.
"Now that there are no rivers, some people can only eat spoiled black bread every day."
Mother Shen pursed her lips and looked at Mu Wanting with an anxious expression. Shen Yujiao also huddled next to Mu Wanting, chattering and asking what to do.
Shen Mingjiao was even more anxious, because she wasn't eating alone; she also had to breastfeed her eldest son.
They had clearly already made her their pillar of support.
Mu Wanting comforted the group.
"It's alright, we'll just eat whatever's available. This area isn't exactly desolate, we'll always find something to eat."
After she said that, the first and second wives became even more smug.
"That's true. At the very least, there's the black bread that can choke you to death."
Around noon, they rested in a dense forest. The others were so tired they were panting and didn't want to move, so they closed their eyes.
But amidst the wailing, Mu Wanting heard a faint rustling sound of grass.
Her eyes flashed like lightning as she looked in that direction and spotted a grayish-brown wild rabbit hopping across.
Mu Wanting immediately picked up a stone and threw it in that direction, with a soft thud.
The hare fell to the ground and began to struggle violently.
Mu Wanting immediately ran over, grabbed the wild rabbit, and while lifting it up, she also took out three more from her spatial storage.
"We caught a wild rabbit."
Everyone looked at her in surprise. They had only been sitting for ten minutes, and she had already caught a rabbit so quickly?
When they saw the four rabbits in her hands, the shock on everyone's faces was undisguised.
A hint of jealousy flashed in the eyes of the oval-faced girl from the Song family. She swallowed hard and muttered something under her breath.
"What's so great about it?"
Song Yuning was one of the aristocratic women who opposed Mu Wanting back then. She had also admired Shen Xinglan and was disgusted by Mu Wanting's shameless pursuit of Shen Xinglan.
