Mu Wanting lowered her head, trying to make her voice as soft as possible: "Your Highness, the tea is here."
The Third Prince did not look up, but simply waved his hand and said, "Put it down."
Mu Wanting slowly approached the Third Prince, and when she was just a few steps away from him, she suddenly drew a dagger and held it to the Third Prince's throat.
"Don't move!" Mu Wanting said sternly.
The Third Prince was startled, then sneered, "Mu Wanting, you really dare to come."
Mu Wanting gritted her teeth and said, "Where is the antidote?"
The Third Prince remained calm and composed: "You think you can threaten me like this? Even if you kill me, you won't get the antidote."
Mu Wanting's hand trembled slightly: "Don't force me!"
Just then, the guards outside heard the commotion and rushed in.
"Release Your Highness!" the guards shouted.
Mu Wanting, holding the Third Prince hostage, retreated step by step: "Don't come any closer, or I'll kill him!"
The Third Prince burst into laughter: "Mu Wanting, you can't escape."
Suddenly, a cold arrow shot out from outside the window. Mu Wanting dodged to the side, and the Third Prince took the opportunity to break free from her control.
In an instant, chaos erupted as Mu Wanting engaged in a fierce battle with the guards.
She moved with agility, her dagger flashing like lightning, wounding several guards. But the enemy outnumbered her, and she gradually became exhausted.
Just when she was about to give up, several experts suddenly appeared.
"Your Highness, we are here to help you!"
It turned out that Shen Xinglan had asked Mu Yunxiao, and because she was worried about Mu Wanting and her leg injury had not yet healed, she had sent all the experts to Mu Wanting.
The group worked side by side and gradually turned the tide.
Seeing the situation was dire, the Third Prince tried to escape. Mu Wanting reacted quickly, throwing a dagger that stabbed the Third Prince in the leg.
"Third Prince, today is your end!" Mu Wanting rushed over and pressed the dagger against his throat again.
"Where is the antidote?" Mu Wanting glared angrily.
The third prince finally became frightened, and he said tremblingly, "It's in the secret compartment of my study."
Following his instructions, Mu Wanting found the hidden compartment and obtained the antidote.
"You have committed many evils, and today I will rid my people of this scourge!" Zhao Gao raised his knife.
Mu Wanting stopped him, saying, "Killing him would be easy, but it would bring us more trouble. It would be better to hand him over to the imperial court and let him receive the punishment he deserves."
Zhao hesitated for a moment, then finally put down the dagger.
They quickly left the mansion with the third prince and the antidote.
Back at their base, Mu Wanting quickly gave her elder brother the antidote.
As her elder brother's complexion gradually improved, Mu Wanting finally felt relieved.
However, their actions attracted the attention of the imperial court.
Soon after, the imperial court sent officials to investigate the matter.
There has also been progress in the case of the Crown Prince's disappearance. They found the Crown Prince's body in the lake, along with a jade pendant belonging to the Third Prince.
With the third prince imprisoned, the truth came out, and the group of exiles were able to continue their journey.
Mu Wanting returned to the inn and, as usual, gave Shen Xinglan acupuncture, massage, and helped him pack his luggage.
Shen Xinglan felt distressed seeing Mu Wanting and Shen Xingchi going out together these past two days.
"Now that you've chosen my older brother, why are you still being nice to me?"
Mu Wanting said, "This is my responsibility."
Shen Xinglan felt a pang of sadness: "Is your only feeling towards me responsibility?"
Mu Wanting nodded: "Yes."
Shen Xinglan and Mu Wanting continued their journey of exile, but since their conversation at the inn that day, they never shared a room again. Although they stayed in the same inn, it was as if an invisible wall separated them.
Shen Xinglan often stares blankly at Mu Wanting's room. He admits that he misses Mu Wanting, he misses her very much.
Under Mu Wanting's meticulous care, Shen Xinglan's legs gradually recovered. He was able to walk freely and was no longer as inconvenient as before. Although he still harbored many complex feelings for Mu Wanting, he continued to treat her very well in silence.
On the road, when Mu Wanting's shoes wore out, Shen Xinglan would quietly buy her a new pair; when encountering difficult sections of road, Shen Xinglan would always subconsciously reach out to help Mu Wanting; during meals, he would also carefully pick out the dishes that Mu Wanting liked to eat.
Shen Xingchi frequently sent letters, inquiring about her well-being, and would also send her various daily necessities and precious gifts. Every time Shen Xingchi's letters and packages arrived at the post station, Mu Wanting's face would light up with a happy smile.
Being remembered by friends is a happy thing in itself.
Shen Xinglan saw all of this and couldn't help but feel a little uncomfortable.
One day, they encountered a downpour on their journey and had to find shelter. The atmosphere in the dilapidated hut was somewhat somber.
"Wanting, you've had a tough time these past few days," Shen Xinglan broke the silence.
Mu Wanting was slightly taken aback, then said calmly, "It's no trouble at all, it's what I should do."
Looking at her cold demeanor, Shen Xinglan felt a pang of pain in her heart: "In your heart, am I just someone you need to take care of?"
Mu Wanting remained silent and turned to look at the rain outside the window.
After the rain stopped, they continued on their way. Shen Xinglan tried to find various topics to talk about with Mu Wanting, but Mu Wanting always gave only a few simple replies and no longer spoke freely with him as she used to.
A few days later, they arrived at a bustling town. Shen Xinglan took Mu Wanting to the market, wanting to buy her some things she liked.
"Wanting, look at this hairpin, it suits you very well," Shen Xinglan said, picking up an exquisite hairpin.
Mu Wanting glanced at it and said, "No need, thank you."
