Chapter 13 No wonder Mrs. Jiang and I look like a married couple
Xu Xian was struck by lightning, and the look of astonishment on her face could not be hidden. In the end, she could only close her eyes and move closer to the Chinese medicine. When she was a few centimeters away, she still couldn't bring herself to take a bite. The bitterness at the tip of her nose irritated her nerves and forced her to retreat.
"Any candy?"
"There should only be rock sugar at home. Do you want some?" Jiang Shibai was slightly stunned. He didn't expect Xu Xian to be so afraid of Chinese medicine, but there was really no candy at home.
He has never liked snacks, so naturally there is no candy in his house.
"No." Xu Xian shook her head. She didn't like chewing rock candy.
Seeing that she really didn't want to drink, Jiang Shibai sighed softly, "Drink it later! I'll take you to the supermarket to buy candy."
His tone was light, but if you listened carefully, you could hear a hint of doting in it.
"Ah?" Xu Xian, who originally wanted to force-feed him the medicine, raised his head instantly and looked at him blankly, not realizing the meaning of his words.
Jiang Shibai didn't explain any further. He stood up and said, "I'm going upstairs to change clothes. Wait for me."
Xu Xian, who was sitting alone in the restaurant, was still in a mess. He stared at the black Chinese medicine in the bowl, and his mood became a little subtle.
Why did she feel that Jiang Shibai was weird? This feeling had lasted from yesterday to today.
If she didn't know that Jiang Shibai just wanted to get married to satisfy his family's pressure to get married, she would have suspected that he liked her.
She still didn't figure out the problem until she went to the supermarket.
"What are you thinking about?" Jiang Shibai pushed the shopping cart and looked at the ingredient list of snacks. There were all kinds of snacks and they were not healthy at all.
"Ah? I want to put some flowers in the house." Xu Xian said something nonsense, but as soon as she said it, she felt it was inappropriate. She was living in someone else's house and was picky.
Jiang Shibai paused slightly as he held the potato chips, then tightened his grip slightly, causing the tin foil shell to crack.
He chuckled softly, his chest shaking slightly. "Mrs. Jiang can make the decision on such trivial matters. This is also your house, your home."
The look in his eyes when he spoke was hard to read, filled with a storm of thick ink, hidden and restrained.
Xu Xian almost forgot that in a sense, she also owned a share of the house, but the look in his eyes when he spoke was really strange. She subconsciously avoided his gaze and pretended to be busy taking potato chips from the shelf.
Jiang Shibai glanced at the snacks in the shopping cart, resisted the urge to take them out, and could only hope that the little ancestor in front of him would eat less.
In the end, Xu Xian stopped after loading most of the car. There were dried fruits, potato chips, biscuits, desserts, candies, and everything else. The colorful packaging gave Jiang Shibai a headache.
The two pushed the cart to buy some items. When they passed the prepared food area, the supermarket specially found a master who could make sugar figures in order to attract children, and a group of children gathered in front.
Xu Xian took a curious look and saw that the sugar figures were lifelike, mostly animals. She sighed a little because she loved eating them when she was a child.
Jiang Shibai saw her behavior and asked in a low voice, "Want to eat?"
"I don't want it. Only children eat this." Xu Xian felt a little embarrassed. After all, the people who were buying candy figures were all children. It would be weird if she squeezed past them.
Jiang Shibai saw through her duplicity and smiled with the corners of his eyes, "But I want to eat."
"You like to eat too?" Xu Xian was slightly surprised and exposed herself directly.
Realizing something was wrong, she immediately covered her mouth and her eyes rolled around.
Jiang Shibai didn't tease her. He handed the cart to her and went to line up.
The man was tall, with sharp eyebrows and bright eyes, and his angular features were handsome. Even a simple white sweatshirt could not hinder his aura of a superior. Wherever he stood, he would attract a lot of people's attention.
Xu Xian was originally inconspicuous in the crowd, but unexpectedly, when it was almost his turn, he turned around, looked in Xu Xian's direction, and said in a neither loud nor soft voice, "Xianxian, what pattern do you want?"
At this moment, Xu Xian clearly saw that the eyes of the people around her were all on her, and she even heard some people in the crowd vaguely discussing the two of them.
"Look at other people's boyfriends. Not only are they handsome, they're also willing to queue up to buy candy figures for their girlfriends. Now look at you!"
"Okay, okay, I'll go buy it too."
“It’s too late!”
Xu Xian glared at him secretly. A man who is too good-looking can easily cause emotional crisis in others.
I seriously suspect that he did it on purpose. He could have waved to let her come over, but he had to call her in public.
Facing so many gazes, it was obviously inappropriate for her to stand there, so she had to bite the bullet and walk over.
The two stood together, one tall and one short, the man was just a head taller than the woman. He lowered his head slightly, his eyes were gentle, his thin lips raised slightly, he looked at her gently, and his silence was worth a thousand words.
Xu Xian glanced at the sugar man, tilted his head slightly, stared into his eyes, and lowered his voice deliberately, "I want the little tiger."
It's a bit embarrassing to say it, but she saw that among the sugar figures next to the stall, the little tiger was particularly cute, with a big and fierce face.
Jiang Shibai chuckled softly, the laughter was not obvious, but Xu Xian heard it clearly. She had reason to suspect that he was laughing at her childishness.
"Okay, the little tiger is cute, just like you."
His voice was steady, neither too loud nor too soft, completely focusing the teasing gazes from the surroundings on Xu Xian's face. Her ears turned red and her cheeks were suspiciously flushed.
"You are cute too." Xu Xian's counterattack was neither too light nor too heavy, and it had no lethality at all.
He looks rather stern, not even gentle, let alone cute, and it sounds like a mockery of him.
Jiang Shibai didn't intend to end the topic. His unclear eyes fell on her face, very shamelessly, "No wonder Mrs. Jiang and I look like a couple."
After being outmaneuvered, Xu Xian completely ignored Jiang Shibai. She felt that this rumored President Jiang was not the same person.
Talking dirty all the time?
You can judge a person by his appearance but not by his heart. People in the company describe him as a cold-faced devil, who is impartial, strict and serious, and cannot tolerate even a grain of sand in his eyes.
But after these two days of contact, she felt that he was as gentle as jade, sometimes a little overbearing, but his mouth was particularly good at attracting girls.
The word "quiet" doesn't fit at all.
The one drawing the sugar figures was an old man who had obviously heard the conversation between the two. When it was Jiang Shibai's turn, he said with a smile, "Let me draw you two little tigers playing together. I wish you a sweet and long-lasting love."
Before Xu Xian could refuse, Jiang Shibai answered, "Of course. Thank you very much."
The old man has great skills and he drips the syrup evenly onto the whiteboard with ease. The sugar painting of two little tigers sitting opposite each other with their heads resting on hydrangeas comes alive.
Jiang Shibai thanked him and took it, then handed it to Xu Xian, his eyes filled with smiles, "For a long, long time."
Xu Xian's heart couldn't help but tremble, and he stared at Jiang Shibai in a daze. A tingling sensation spread along his spine and throughout his limbs.
"Let's go, let's go." She stuttered, pinched the stick at the bottom of the sugar painting and turned to leave, not daring to look at him for a second.
The man's ink-black eyes seemed to have a kind of magic that made people fall into it and unable to extricate themselves.
