Chapter 56: Confrontation
Xie Yingmian's face darkened.
"Madam Fang, be careful with your words," she said sternly. "I am Princess Ling, enshrined in the imperial royal family, not just any random person from your Fang family."
"Whether I'm divorced or drowned, it's a royal affair, not something you, a minister's wife, can interfere with."
"Even if the royal family wants to punish me, they must have a reason."
"The laws of the Dayu Dynasty are all recorded. Please do not rely on your status as a concubine to bully others and do such treasonous things."
"If Madam Fang continues to speak without restraint and criticize me at will, don't blame me for being rude."
Mrs. Fang was embarrassed when she was scolded by a junior named Xie Yingmian.
There were blue and red patches on the face.
She couldn't argue with Xie Yingmian, so she turned her attention to the Concubine Dowager.
"Little sister, she's about to make a scene, aren't you going to do anything about it?"

She stood straight, her eyes firm and powerful. "I am the consort of His Royal Highness Prince Ling. If the Concubine Dowager insists on my death, I dare not disobey. I can die."
"But, I died because the Toffee asked me to, not because I did something wrong."
"I deny everything Miss Fang has slandered me against, and I also disagree with Mrs. Fang's accusations."
"I, Xie Yingmian, swear here that I have not harmed Fang Yilin. If I say anything false, I will be struck by lightning and die a miserable death."
The concubine was shocked by Xie Yingmian's words.
She had never thought that a village girl from a village could have such character.
The toffee felt mixed emotions.
Fang Yilin grew up by her side since he was a child, and she has a good understanding of Fang Yilin's character.
Fang Yilin is a person who never suffers any loss.

Madam Fang asked, "Who says that if you're afraid of water, we can't meet at the lakeside cottage?"
Xie Yingmian retorted, "Who said that if you're afraid of water, you can't jump into the lake?"
"You!" Mrs. Fang was so angry that she was fuming. "You are just making up nonsense."
Xie Yingmian refused to give in. "Madam Fang just said that people who are afraid of water won't go near the water easily, and then she said that even if you're afraid of water, you can still meet at the lakeside cottage. Aren't you contradicting yourself?"
"Mrs. Fang doesn't speak the truth or reason, and you just rely on your imagination."
Mrs. Fang has met many people.
But this is the first time I have met someone as straightforward and disrespectful as Xie Yingmian.
She was so angry that her face turned blue, and her lips moved several times, but she didn't say a word.
