Chapter 161: No Progress
Although Jiang Lin was the only one who fell ill when they were in Lotus Town, his mind was inevitably affected by the daily battle with the disease.
The group rested in the inn for a few days before setting off again.
Qin Xiangnuan was lying in the gorgeous carriage with her eyes closed, feeling that she had not felt so comfortable for a long time.
"Miss Qin, are you satisfied with everything?" Jiang Lin didn't feel tired at first. He had survived the most difficult and harsh environments and had never complained of being tired. But for some reason, when he saw Qin Xiangnuan's relaxed and comfortable look at the moment, he felt sad all over and asked with a bit of anger and amusement.
When Jiang Lin walked to the carriage, Qin Xiangnuan noticed that this man knew how to whisper orders outside, but he didn't know how to hide it after entering the carriage.
Qin Xiangnuan opened her eyelids, glanced at him, and said, "No one will be dissatisfied with the prince's work."
After he finished speaking, he returned to his previous state. Jiang Lin stared at the person on the couch. Some images flashed through his mind. He frowned and tried to capture them, but he always couldn't figure it out.
After a moment of silence, Qin Xiangnuan opened one eye, looked at the other person's painful expression, and then stood up, with anxiety in her voice that she had not noticed.
"Is he still dizzy?" Qin Xiangnuan thought that shouldn't be the case. She was absolutely sure that the patients she treated would not suffer from any root cause of the disease.
The moment Qin Xiangnuan's hand touched Jiang Lin, he held her hand tightly.
Qin Xiangnuan felt pain, but did not push him away. Instead, she was anxious because Jiang Lin had not spoken a word and looked like he was in agony. Therefore, she did not notice that Jiang Lin paused for a moment when their hands touched.
Once the lies to Qin Xiangnuan began, Jiang Lin, who had always been good at planning and strategizing, was afraid that he would be no better than an ordinary man. At this moment, he could only follow her force and lie flat on the couch.
"You rest first, I'll take a look at you." Qin Xiangnuan said as she was about to take his pulse.
Jiang Lin quickly held her down and said, "It's okay, just take a break."
Qin Xiangnuan naturally refused to give up. She could not allow herself to make a mistake. Her stubbornness made Jiang Lin laugh and cry. Before her hand fell on her pulse again, she chuckled, "Nuannuan is so worried about me, is it about to..."
Before he could finish his words, Qin Xiangnuan snorted and retorted, shaking off his hand, "Your Highness, please don't think too much. It would be bad if it caused misunderstandings."
Qin Xiangnuan saw that he looked relaxed now and did not seem to be seriously ill. Because she could tell the real from the fake in the painful expression on his face before, she did not suspect that he was lying to her and just thought it was some old illness.
"Then it has nothing to do with me." Qin Xiangnuan comforted herself.
At this moment, Jiang Lin propped himself up and sat up, closing the distance between him and Qin Xiangnuan, and slowly said, "If someone misunderstood me, I would definitely be happy. I just don't know what Nuannuan thinks."
"I must have the opposite idea from the prince." Qin Xiangnuan woke up from her thoughts, raised her eyes and saw an enlarged face, and was suddenly frightened and leaned back.
Jiang Lin quickly grabbed her from behind, and the distance between them moved closer.
The similar distance brought back Jiang Lin's vague memories, and under Qin Xiangnuan's gaze, the picture gradually became clearer.
Qin Xiangnuan felt that his eyes were becoming more and more dangerous, and she couldn't help but reach out to push him away, wanting to stay away.
Unexpectedly, Jiang Lin took action before her, and in a flash, they both fell on the couch.
"Let me go!" Qin Xiangnuan was angry, and especially when she met Jiang Lin's teasing eyes, her men showed no mercy.
Neither of them wanted to let go. After a quarrel, Qin Xiangnuan was finally restrained by Jiang Lin because of her smaller strength.
"Why are you so angry?" Jiang Lin didn't understand. Qin Xiangnuan seemed to appear more frequently recently, and her moody appearance made Jiang Lin feel helpless.
"Let go!" Qin Xiangnuan was more angry with herself. When facing Jiang Lin, she had to admit that she was a little, just a little bit, shaken.
At this moment, Jiang Lin was pressing Qin Xiangnuan's wrists with his hands and pressing her legs diagonally with one leg. This posture could not last for too long. In addition, Qin Xiangnuan was struggling hard, and Jiang Lin was a little angry. Without caring about anything, Qin Xiangnuan was taken advantage of again.
If Qin Xiangnuan did not object the first time because Jiang Lin was sick, then she had no reasonable reason the second time, and her resistance was not very strong.
"I'm sorry, Nuannuan." Jiang Lin felt annoyed with himself, "I forgot what happened that night."
As Anliu said, Jiang Lin had no experience in getting along with women and did not understand matters of the heart, but he also knew that what he did was beyond the norm.
After Qin Xiangnuan's lips touched his, she stopped all movements. Jiang Lin noticed it and raised his head slightly. Their lips were only a hair's breadth apart, and their breaths blended as they spoke. Qin Xiangnuan could clearly feel the warmth on his lips. She lowered her eyes, but could not see Jiang Lin's expression clearly.
"Which time are you apologizing for?" Qin Xiangnuan's breath was warm, but her words were cold and pierced Jiang Lin.
Jiang Lin knew that he should get up now to win Qin Xiangnuan's forgiveness, but he was reluctant to do so. He remembered the feeling of the two of them sleeping in each other's arms that night. That was the warmth he longed for.
Just like the warmth in Qin Xiangnuan's breath at this moment, he listened to Qin Xiangnuan's smooth words and understood the doubt in her words.
"Nuannuan." Jiang Lin wanted to explain, "Nuannuan."
Qin Xiangnuan also waited for his explanation, but received the same answer as usual. Listening to his cries, Qin Xiangnuan ignored the irregular beating of her heart and said indifferently, "Are you calling for the soul?"
"I..." The carriage suddenly bumped, and Jiang Lin swallowed the words that were about to come out.
Qin Xiangnuan lost her temper after being shaken like this. She turned her head and gently pushed him. The two of them stood up. Just as they sat down, they heard a sound outside the carriage.
"Master, Third Miss, it was my fault. I didn't see the stone in front of me."
Qin Xiangnuan lifted the car curtain with one hand, looked at An Feng who was leaning forward with his eyes lowered, and sighed softly. She didn't know whether Jiang Lin really wanted to tell everything or wanted to make another excuse, but she never knew.
To be honest, Qin Xiangnuan also breathed a sigh of relief, perhaps because she realized the time had not yet come.
An Feng had no intention of eavesdropping, but his ears would automatically capture all the information around him. He could only receive everything with an expressionless face. But now that his master's feelings were involved, and he had interrupted the progress, he was a little panicked.
What's more, Qin Xiangnuan's performance might lead to her being "retaliated" by her master again.
"Miss Third, the road ahead is clear, please go back and rest." An Feng had a selfish motive and wanted to stop Qin Xiangnuan from getting off the car.
"I have a miserable life. I shouldn't be in this carriage." Qin Xiangnuan walked around him and jumped down from the other side.
An Feng gave up the idea of chasing after him without waiting for the order from behind the curtain.
Anliu watched secretly from the side, shaking his head, "How can we let go of such a good opportunity!"
It’s a pity that Jiang Lin couldn’t hear his shouts.
