Chapter 186: Spread to the Capital
A list was read for a whole day, and every household in the city had a crime on it.
The foreign officials who rushed over after receiving the letter were shocked by the scene and were still frightened afterwards.
"Prince Jiang, are we going to arrest everyone here?" The official staggered and was supported by someone.
"Our cells can't hold them all?" the officer said.
"No need. This is their cell," Jiang Lin said. "I've already sent someone to report to the emperor. You just need to send someone to guard this place and don't let anyone in or out."
"Yes, yes!" the official stood up straight. "I will definitely fulfill my mission!"
Jiang Lin had heard a little about this official and knew that he would handle things impartially, so he left all the subsequent matters to him and they were about to set off.
"Prince Jiang, what do you think these children should do?"
Jiang Lin had the children sent over today and explained everything to them. Then he heard their mournful cries.
It doesn't matter whether they understand it or not. What happened to them can never be erased. They only know that the bad guys have been punished and they don't have to worry about it anymore.
"Let them choose for themselves," Jiang Lin said. "If they want to stay here, just keep them safe."
"yes!"
This day hurt the hearts of several people. Qin Feng collapsed inside the carriage as soon as he got on.
"I've never felt that there is anything more tiring than practicing martial arts." Qin Feng said in a hoarse voice.
When Jiang Lin heard the voice, he couldn't help but look at Qin Xiangnuan.
Qin Xiangnuan was about to bring water to her mouth when she noticed someone's gaze coming from the side. She looked back at him, raised her eyebrows to indicate what was the matter, and continued to drink the water when she saw him shake his head.
"Cousin, I want to drink too." Qin Feng saw Shui He out of the corner of his eye and swallowed involuntarily, "I've finished my water."
Qin Xiangnuan wiped the corner of her mouth with one hand and handed the kettle over with the other...but didn't.
Jiang Lin held her down and handed her his water bottle, "You haven't drunk mine yet."
"Thank you, Prince!" Qin Feng took it without hesitation.
Qin Xiangnuan turned her head and saw his pale lips. She frowned and put the kettle in his hand, "Drink."
The commanding words made the other three people take a quick look, and they saw a 'well-behaved' Jiang Lin, but they were not surprised.
The carriage slowly brought them to the children's village.
"benefactor!"
Several people looked at each other. Qin Feng heard a familiar voice and got out of the car happily.
Qin Feng saw the old man coming with many villagers. Some of the other party saw many soldiers passing by and asked about the affairs of Heshui Town. They thought that something happened there just after Qin Feng and his friends came to ask for news, so they waited here to thank them.
"What a good man!" As soon as Qin Feng appeared, they rushed forward, their eyes almost filled with tears.
Qin Feng didn't know how to respond and looked very stupid.
"We were wrong a few days ago. If you don't mind, please come back to the village with us. We've prepared..."
"Uncle, that's not necessary." Anliu came out to stop the situation at Jiang Lin's signal and rescued Qin Feng.
After getting on the carriage, Qin Feng was still feeling a little dizzy. Qin Xiangnuan joked, "Cousin, if you encounter something like this in the future..."
Before Qin Xiangnuan could finish, Qin Feng answered, "I will definitely save the people from danger and will never back down."
The carriage was filled with laughter, which dispelled some of the heavy atmosphere of the past few days.
By the time this tragic event reached the capital, it was several days later, and the emperor was furious.
"Is there no one in my court? I've allowed an official to commit crimes in this area for decades without anyone knowing. If Jiang Lin hadn't passed through here this time, how much longer would this have lasted? Another ten years? Or twenty years?"
"Your Majesty, please calm down!" All the officials in the court knelt on the ground.
Gu Mingqi gritted his teeth secretly. Jiang Lin took all the credit. Why did he, a prince, get it on account of it?
"Father!" Gu Mingqi also wanted to make a contribution and gain other people's respect. "I am willing to go to Heshui Town and relieve the suffering of the local people."
"Excellent!" The emperor was deeply pleased with his initiative. "As expected of my son, you should have such courage."
Gu Mingqi raised the corners of his mouth, but when he left the court he heard people talking.
"Prince Jiang has convicted everyone. Now that the Seventh Prince has gone, doesn't that mean all the credit goes to him?"
"Be careful with your words!" The person who spoke looked around and didn't see Gu Mingqi behind the stone pillar. He lowered his voice and said, "If the Seventh Prince heard this, would you still want to live?"
"Ah!" The man quickly covered his mouth and looked around as well, then patted his chest. "Don't scare me. He's a prince, why would he regard a prince as a thorn in his side?"
"You still don't know how to restrain yourself!"
"I'm confused, I was confused for a moment, don't say anything, go away, go away!"
After everyone left, Gu Mingqi walked out from the darkness, his eyes dark, and it was unknown what kind of plan he was brewing.
"Seventh Prince, I will immediately send someone to take them..."
Gu Mingqi raised his hand and his men stopped talking.
"I want to let them live and see how I defeat Jiang Lin in the future. Then, it will be their death." Gu Mingqi did not hide his murderous intent at all.
"The Seventh Prince is wise."
"Is there any news from Kongwu?" Gu Mingqi asked.
"Just arrived today!" the subordinate said, "In Nanfeng Town and Lianhua Town, the villagers are discussing the matter of erecting a monument for General Qin."
"Erect a monument?" Gu Mingqi was puzzled.
"Yes, I heard that the local villagers received great kindness from General Qin, so they erected a monument to express their gratitude to him."
Gu Mingqi frowned and thought for a moment, then smiled, "If this important matter were to be reported to my father, what would he think?"
"The Emperor will surely be furious. How dare a general, one who was exiled and dismissed, have such great authority?"
After hearing what his men said, Gu Mingqi smiled even more happily, "Yes, General Qin, how come you still don't understand the principle that those who are more powerful than you are worth?"
"If the Seventh Prince tells the Emperor about this, they will never see the light of day again."
"No rush." Gu Mingqi had a longer-term plan.
Now that there is an invasion on the border, the emperor will not make up his mind to kill Qin Guang. Telling this matter will only make things more difficult for the emperor and will also punish himself. Gu Mingqi has made mistakes in this matter several times before and will not make the same mistake again.
"I was inconsiderate. I hope the Seventh Prince will punish me!"
Gu Mingqi was in a good mood. He waved his hand to indicate that it was okay and then went home.
"Pack your luggage for me!" This was the first thing Gu Mingqi did when he returned home. He couldn't wait any longer.
Gu Mingqi's arrival was something Jiang Lin and the others had not expected.
At this time, they were far away from Heshui Town, far away from that hell on earth, and successfully met up with Qin Guang and others.
After hearing the whole story, everyone sighed.
"Alas! May the Buddha bless those innocent people who died in vain." Old Lady Qin muttered silently.
The others also made wishes in their hearts.
