Chapter 281: Winning Conviction

Chapter 281: Winning Conviction

Li Xiaolin couldn't believe his eyes. The arrows they prepared were 10% less than those used to deal with the foreigners that day, but it was more than enough for Jiang Lin alone.

"Is the prince still human?" The others had discarded their arrows and crossbows and stood with Li Xiaolin, looking at the terrifying man in front of them.

Jiang Lin was holding an arrow in his hand at this time, and threw it hard in front of them. He happened to hear what they said when he rode over.

"I am a human." Jiang Lin jumped off his horse and landed steadily in front of them. "And today it's not that I'm too strong, but that you're too weak."

Jiang Lin glanced at them, "Are you still dissatisfied today?"

They exchanged glances, then all looked at Jiang Lin and bowed to him. "Prince, we are willing to listen to you and practice extra hours every day."

Everyone else spoke, but Li Xiaolin remained stiff-necked, staring at Jiang Lin in disbelief.

Jiang Lin did not press for his response, but looked at him calmly.

"Prince!" Li Xiaolin finally bowed down to Jiang Lin's strength. "I am willing to obey your orders. If I have offended the lion before, I hope you will punish me."

"No need for punishment." Jiang Lin said calmly, "You just need to do what you are supposed to do every day."

Seeing that Jiang Lin was so forgiving towards them, these people would be lying if they said they were not grateful, so they became more determined to work for Jiang Lin.

Even though Jiang Lin added, "But since you have provoked such a big incident, you still need to be vigilant, otherwise I will not be able to discipline you in the future."

"Your Highness is absolutely right!" everyone shouted, "Let Your Highness handle it."

Jiang Lin asked them to stand on a high place for training every day, and all actions were supervised by others, and the intensity was sufficient.

Since that day, the morale of Jiang Lin's soldiers has been rising day by day, but the situation on King Cheng's side is completely the opposite.

"Have you two been fooled by that guy named Jiang Lin?" King Han scolded his two useless sons in front of him.

"Father, this is absolutely not..."

"Enough!" Prince Han turned to face Prince Li, whose eyes were filled with indignation. "Didn't you see with your own eyes that Jiang Lin was shot in the chest? How is he still alive and well, even training in the military training grounds?"

King Li had no idea how to answer King Han's question. He wanted to ask why Jiang Lin was still standing there alive.

"Father." King Li's eyes suddenly widened. "Not only did my people see Jiang Lin lying half-dead on the couch, but my second brother saw it too."

The disaster was directed at King Cheng. He glanced at King Li, then lowered his head and said to King Han, "Father, I only sent someone to inquire about the situation, but my elder brother saw it with his own eyes."

Seeing the two of them about to argue over this, King Han's face turned cold, "Why don't you two go and argue with Jiang Lin and ask him why he lied to you?"

Upon hearing this, the two brothers dared not say anything and both lowered their heads before King Han.

"Jiang Lin is no simple man," King Han said after the two of them calmed down. "He's going to be stationed at the border. We've had plenty of dealings with him, and now that we know his background, it's not a bad thing."

King Cheng and King Li nodded in agreement. They would naturally be more cautious and wary of Jiang Lin in the future.

Now is the time for them to bide their time and there will be no more fighting in the short term.

There was no point for Qin Xiangnuan to stay here anymore.

"Miss Third, are you leaving so soon?" After hearing the news, Anliu sighed even earlier than Jiang Lin.

Jiang Lin lowered his eyes at this time, making it impossible to see his expression. But after hearing Qin Xiangnuan's answer, he slowly raised his eyelids.

"Let's go." Jiang Lin said, "I've seen more and more letters looking for you these days. I think something big must have happened. The people there need you more than I do."

"It's not a big deal." Qin Xiangnuan smiled, "But what you said is true. I'll be more useful if I stay there."

The letter Jiang Lin mentioned was written by Uncle Zhang and Uncle Wang. The first one was that they missed Qin Xiangnuan, and the second one was that without Qin Xiangnuan in the fields, the crops seemed to have lost their strength.

"I'll send someone to take you back right now." Jiang Lin nodded, and then went to find An Feng.

Anliu's eyes flashed, "Master, Master..."

The faint humming sound made Jiang Lin frown. He looked at the undercurrent with confusion, but after seeing his hesitation, he understood instantly.

"You want to go?" Jiang Lin asked knowingly.

Anliu nodded uncomfortably, then suddenly raised his voice and said, "Master, I want to stay there for a day and will definitely come back tomorrow."

Jiang Lin smiled and said, "It wouldn't hurt if you stayed a little longer."

Anliu shook his head. Jiang Lin needed someone right now, so he would never leave Jiang Lin to have a romantic relationship.

But it is true that there has been a gap between me and Yingniang in recent days, and we still need to meet more often to break the doubts between us.

"I'll only stay for one day." Anliu said firmly. There was no way Jiang Lin would force him.

"It's up to you to decide." Jiang Lin said, then turned to look at Qin Xiangnuan.

The two hadn't seen each other for a month since their last separation. If Jiang Lin hadn't had any trouble, the time would have been even longer. After their separation today, Jiang Lin didn't know when he would be able to see Qin Xiangnuan again.

Qin Xiangnuan accepted Jiang Lin's reluctance to let her go. She also felt reluctant this time, so she took a few steps forward and stood toe to toe with Jiang Lin.

"The same thing." Qin Xiangnuan said, "If anything happens, you must let me know."

Jiang Lin nodded. Qin Xiangnuan's coming this time was not what he wanted, but he did benefit from it. Rather than being afraid of Qin Xiangnuan worrying, he wanted to see the person more.

"If anything happens on your side, have someone tell me." Jiang Lin frowned slightly and instructed Qin Xiang Nuan.

While the two were pouring their hearts out to each other, Anliu had simply packed up a bag and came out. When he saw Jiang Lin and Qin Xiangnuan looking at each other lovingly, he quietly stood outside the door.

"What are you doing here?" Anliu had just come back from outside. He saw Anliu's sneaky look from afar and walked up to him and patted his shoulder.

"Shh!" Anliu turned around and quickly covered his mouth.

But, it was still too late.

Jiang Lin and Qin Xiangnuan had already stood apart, their faces cold, completely devoid of the charming atmosphere just now.

"Master." Anfeng glanced at Anliu and walked in.

Jiang Lin nodded and raised his chin towards him.

An Feng then said, "The foreigners have retreated several dozen miles and it looks like they are going to set up camp there."

"That shouldn't be taken lightly." Jiang Lin frowned. "You should send someone to the court to report their actions, but don't state the reasons directly."

An Feng looked up, somewhat puzzled.
