Chapter 71: Message

Chapter 71: Message

The two bearded men were probably frightened by their followers and dared not chase after them.

The things from the Western Regions were strange and interesting. Bai Li, who had never seen them before, was delighted to see them and buy them with joy. Her maid and two followers were almost full, but she showed no sign of stopping.

Yu Chang was her "sister" after all, and she stopped her when she saw a fox fur scarf and wanted to buy it.

"If you buy more, you'll be broke, and I won't pay for you."

"Okay, when I have money in the future, I will definitely buy several of them. I will exchange some for white strips and some for night strips."

Yu Chang covered her mouth and giggled, then wiped her eyes with a handkerchief and said, "Sister, who wears a scarf when sleeping at night?"

"Yeah, why didn't I think of that?"

Bai Li portrayed the role of a simple and cute little farm girl to perfection.

Their every move that day was learned from Madam Wu by the maids and attendants.

"Whatever. After all, she's just a country girl who hasn't seen the world. This is normal."

"Have you checked those two guys? What are their backgrounds?"

"I checked and found out they were two brothers from Laos in the west. They often came to the small market to do business. I'll tell you once I ask them.

It was common for them to quarrel and fight in the street, and then they would make up as if they were one family. People in the market were used to it.

"That's good, we must not be careless in what our master has instructed us to do.

You have worked hard today. I will report to the master when we return to the palace and ask for a reward for you."

"Thank you, Mammy."

After resting, the carriage continued on its journey.

After leaving the small market, the carriage headed onto the muddy road on the prairie again.

Inside the carriage, Bai Li whispered, "The two people outside have changed again!"

Yuan Mo made a gesture to silence her and then began to communicate with her in sign language.

"What should I do? The letter hasn't been delivered yet."

Bai Li became anxious and asked with gestures.

"Don't worry, it's been sent out."

Bai Li's eyes widened.

"Pass it to that bearded guy?"

"no,"

Yuan Mo shook his head and gestured.

"It's a small stall behind them, and the stall owner is one of ours."

"Is it the stall where those two people are fighting over the goods?"

Yuan Mo nodded.

Bai Li couldn't help feeling ashamed. In her previous life, she only knew how to fight zombies. She was so stubborn that she had never thought about or done these complicated things.

It would be easier and more satisfying to ask her to kill Emperor Simon directly than to ask her to be a spy now.

"It seems that I can't complete this task."

"Don't be discouraged. Take your time. You are so smart. You will learn it soon."

"Well, forget it. If I get discovered, I'll just fight my way out. Why would I hesitate like this?"

Yuan Mo looked at her leisurely and sighed deeply.

"Well, I will definitely wait until you are all safe and sound before I start killing you. I won't let you fall into danger."

"Your idea is good, but it's impossible."

If it's impossible, I'll make it possible. What else can't stump a living person?

Bai Li thought so, but he didn't express it.

The carriage continued to move on the grassland. After a few days, Bai Li lost interest in the boundless grassland. Except for occasionally lifting the door curtain to get some fresh air, she spent the rest of the time staying in the carriage, thinking with her head down. No one knew what she was thinking.

They arrived at another small town that day. Yuan Mo told her that he heard that this small market was several times larger than the previous one, and asked her if she wanted to go for a walk.

Bai Li was in a good mood and decided to stretch his muscles after staying for a few days.

The food and supplies we had on the road these few days were all the supplies we bought at the small market last time, so we naturally had to replenish them when we arrived in the town.

Seeing that they were well-behaved and obedient along the way, Nanny Wu agreed without hesitation when they suggested getting off the car to go for a walk.

Bai Li pulled Yu Chang and ran happily like a bird out of a cage, chirping and running, and the maids and followers naturally followed.

This town is much larger and more lively than the previous small market. The houses of the town residents are made of stone.

The streets are paved with large flat stones and are clean and spacious. There are all kinds of small stalls and shops on both sides of the streets, and the doors are crowded with people.

"Are you going to send a letter again this time?"

Bai Li covered his face with a handkerchief and asked in a low voice.

Yu Chang took the handkerchief she handed over and looked at it. "It's not pretty. It's not as good as the one I embroidered."

He whispered very quickly, "No, the two people behind us are not ours, be careful what you say."

"It's okay, second sister. If this place isn't suitable, let's look for another one."

As long as she doesn’t have to deliver the letter, then she can have fun!

"Hey, don't run so fast, or you might get lost!"

"Haha, Second Sister, you couldn't catch up with me before when you wanted to hit me, and now you can't catch up with me even more, right?"

Bai Li turned around, made a face and ran away. Yu Chang was so angry that she wanted to chase her and beat her.

The two sisters ran away while playing. The maid glanced at the two followers, and the three of them started chasing after them.

Fortunately, the two of them stopped and started, always keeping up with them at a close distance.

"Are you still buying things? Are you out of money?"

Yu Chang teased her sister, saying that she went on a shopping spree at the small market and then regretted her purchases.

"Second sister, how about you lend me some?"

"Don't even think about it. I have to save my money for my dowry!"

"Ah? Second sister, you're thinking about getting married before you're even engaged. Aren't you ashamed?"

Bai Li started to make trouble with her again, and Yu Chang chased her and tickled her.

While they were playing around, they heard sounds of beating and scolding coming from the front.

Of course they had to watch the excitement, so the two sisters pushed through the crowd and squeezed in.

The maids and attendants learned from the last lesson and squeezed in behind them.

In the venue surrounded by a crowd, an old woman was tearing a young woman's hair with one hand and slapping her wildly with the other.

"You're such a bastard, you're such a loser that you can't even give birth to a son. I told you to do some work and you're still lazy. I'll beat you to death!"

"Mom, please stop hitting me. I know I was wrong!"

The young woman reached out and grabbed the woman's hand, tears streaming down her face, begging desperately.

Everyone couldn't bear to watch and tried to persuade them.

"Tofu Wuniang, your daughter-in-law has already realized her mistake, so please forgive her this time!"

Bai Li looked up and saw that this was the entrance of a tofu shop.

“You don’t know?

Tofu Wu Niang is narrow-minded and violent.

Her daughter-in-law had miscarriages several times because of her beatings. It wasn't that she couldn't give birth to a son, it was her mother-in-law who aborted them all!"

"No way, there are people who would abort their own grandson?

Aren't you afraid that your ancestors will blame you when you get to the underworld?"

"You don't know this, right? Her son's daughter-in-law is a girl from the Great Zhou Kingdom, but she wants her niece to be her daughter-in-law.

The mother and son disagreed, and the son insisted on getting married. She had no way to stop him, so naturally she took her anger out on her daughter-in-law!

"Is there such a thing? But Miss Da Zhou is not bad either. Many people in Simon have married Miss Da Zhou."

"Humph, the people of the Great Zhou are all lowly people. Only those low-class and vulgar people take women from the Great Zhou as concubines. Marrying them as wives is simply a disgrace to the family!"

Is this person sick?

Did the people of Da Zhou dig up his ancestral grave?

Bai Li looked in the direction of the sound and saw a well-dressed Simon man looking at the young woman on the ground as if she were an ant.
