Chapter 20 Give me money and prove it to you

Ji Baiqing was a competitive person, and he always wanted to be better than others no matter what he did. At this moment, he saw Xiao Yunfei's family drinking water, but his children had no water to drink, and he felt angry and anxious.

He was already in a bad mood, and his youngest son kept crying, which made him feel even more embarrassed.

He didn't dare to confront Xiao Yunfei head-on, and only dared to vent his anger on his family.

"Shut up and stop crying. If you keep crying I'll kick you to death! All you do every day is embarrass me."

The child was so angry at him that he started crying even harder.

Wang Xiu'e has always spoiled her children. When she heard this, she became unhappy and couldn't help but start to retort while crying while holding her little son.

"What's so embarrassing about a kid? He's just thirsty. What's wrong with him wanting to drink some water?"

"Besides, that water hyacinth originally belonged to us. If Su Miaomiao hadn't suddenly gone crazy, would we have no water to drink?"

"Is it any use taking your anger out on us? If you're really angry, go and settle the score with Su Miaomiao and get our water hyacinths and food back."

"The three of us, mother and son, don't ask for food and drink from you, but can you at least let us have enough to eat and drink? Look at what kind of life we're living now. If you make Xiaobao thirsty, I won't let you go!"

Wang Xiu'e usually agreed with Ji Baiqing and rarely criticized him as angrily as she did today.

Ji Baiqing felt the change in Wang Xiu'e's attitude towards him, and found it even more difficult to accept.

Just because Su Miaomiao caused a commotion today, even his wife started to look down on him.

Ever since Wang Xiu'e married into his family, she has been enjoying the good life with him. Now she can't stand it after enduring a little hardship with him?

Is this a typical case of being able to share the good times but not the bad times?

Ji Baiqing suddenly began to doubt his life. His body swayed and he almost fell down.

He couldn't accept Wang Xiu'e's transformation. Being a male chauvinist, he couldn't help but lose his temper and kicked Wang Xiu'e hard.

"Wang Xiu'e, who do you think you are? I've taken you out for all these years, and you actually say this to me? Do you have a conscience?"

"How can I be so heartless? I gave birth to your children, I left an heir for your Ji family. Over the years, I have fulfilled my duties as a wife. Now, you have forced me to take my children and be exiled with you to that desolate and cold place. Tell me, how have I wronged you?"

"Wang Xiu'e, don't talk so nicely. You were with me back then because you wanted to climb up the social ladder. Don't think you don't know that you despise me now. Why didn't you despise me when you were spending my money and eating lavishly at home every day?"

"Yes, I do dislike her now!" Wang Xiu'e was so angry that she spoke the truth. "Ji Baiqing, do you think you're so powerful? You couldn't beat Xiao Yunfei in a fight, and he scared you into submission with just one look. You only climbed to your official position thanks to Su Miaomiao. And the money you spend on food and other things in your house, which one of them was earned by you? It's all thanks to that silly woman Su Miaomiao."

These words are a bit harsh.

After hearing this, Ji Baiqing couldn't accept it for a moment. He rolled his eyes and fell to the ground with a thud.

Seeing this, his eldest and second sons rushed over.

Wang Xiu'e was also frightened and woke up suddenly. She rushed over and shouted Ji Baiqing's name.

The younger son stopped crying now. He got up and stood aside, at a loss.

After drinking water, Su Miaomiao and her family rested for a few minutes and happened to witness the excitement with their own eyes.

Xiao Yunfei had been secretly observing Su Miaomiao. He found that Su Miaomiao did not react at all when she saw Ji Baiqing fall down. Not only was she not anxious or worried, she even seemed a little gloating.

The look in his eyes didn't seem like he was looking at a lover, it was more like he was looking at an enemy.

Could it be that Su Miaomiao has really changed her mind and doesn't want to be involved with Ji Baiqing anymore?

Xiao Yunfei asked tentatively.

"Why don't you go and take a look? What if someone dies?"

"I'm not going. What if he dies and we're blamed? This is a special period, and we can't give others the opportunity to make trouble."

Su Miaomiao said this, standing up and patting the dirt off her butt.

"Let's hurry up and walk for a while. If you get tired, you can rest."

As she spoke, she bent down and pulled up the children who were lying on the ground exhausted one by one.

Xiao Yunfei withdrew his gaze from her face, patted his thigh and said.

"Okay, let's get going!"

He didn't care what Su Miaomiao was up to, but Su Miaomiao looked much more comfortable than before.

After they separated from Ji Baiqing and his family, they did not see Ji Baiqing and his family again until they arrived at the inn around nine o'clock in the evening.

Out of sight, out of mind. Without Ji Baiqing and his family hanging around them, Su Miaomiao felt much better.

Xiao Yunfei brought Su Miaomiao and five children into the inn.

As soon as she entered, Su Miaomiao couldn't help but frown.

Why is this inn so shabby?

There were two horse hitching posts in the yard, but there was not a single horse in sight.

There were only four broken wooden tables in the room, and four stools were placed next to each table. However, those stools looked flimsy and seemed like they could be broken at any time by someone sitting on them.

But whether the inn is good or bad has nothing to do with them.

The inn only serves court officials. Xiao Yunfei is now a criminal and naturally has no right to enjoy the treatment of a court official.

Xiao Yunfei found the postmaster and took out the documents proving his identity. The postmaster carefully identified the documents and confirmed that it was indeed their family of seven, without a single person missing, before he stamped their passport.

Su Miaomiao and the others got what they wanted and immediately continued on their way.

They walked for more than three hours. Su Miaomiao felt that the time was almost up, so she suggested stopping and resting for a while.
