Chapter 626: The Servants Don’t Manage Well
The atmosphere in the Colosseum was lively.
In a sturdy iron cage, two skinny gray wolves were biting each other fiercely. Their gray fur was stained with blood. Their fangs were sharp and their eyes were cold and captivating during the fight.
There were pieces of torn flesh and blood on the ground.
The threatening feeling of beast fighting is touching.
In the stands, the noble young men in fur coats cheered, laughed and chatted. In their eyes, the most primitive fights and slaughters of the beasts in the iron cages were just entertainment.
The battle ended with one of the wolves having its cervical vertebrae bitten off, and the gray wolf that won the fight was also covered in wounds.
After the wolf fight was over, Tianbao, Bai Yu and others left the arena, not wanting to watch any more.
The beast that wins the event will receive a reward and a full meal.
The meal was what they had seen at the door before. When the fur blanket was carried in, a pool of blood fell on the snow.
That was the fighting slave who died at the hands of his companions in the fighting arena in the north of the city.
"He's still alive, he's really tough! Find him quickly! We can't let him get away!"
As they were about to leave the Colosseum, a group of burly men in rat-skin coats passed by, their faces brimming with rage. "He can't get far with those injuries. Watch out for the blood on the ground! Search the carriages parked here first! Once we find him, we'll throw him straight into the wolf cage and feed him to the wolves!"
The big men dispersed and searched the noble carriages parked in front of the gate one by one inside and out, cursing and swearing.
A new round of beast fighting began in the arena, and there were bursts of cheers again.
Amidst the chaos and noise, Tianbao moved his ears, and his eyes passed by a carriage inconspicuously and stopped at the end of the carriages.
The big men moved quickly, getting closer and closer to the carriage.
Tianbao's eyes were indifferent as she lightly poked the back of Bai Yu's hand.
The next moment, the two men simultaneously threw hidden weapons and attacked the horses.
The old man followed closely behind the two men, quietly spreading poison powder that could stimulate the horses to go crazy. His old face still looked very innocent and natural.
"Hiss--" Under the double stimulation, the horses pulling the cart raised their necks and neighed, and then they spread their hooves and rushed in different directions.
The big men who were concentrating on searching were caught off guard and were either knocked away by the horses or staggered by the carriages. Some of the people on the carriages were even taken away directly.
The drivers were also caught off guard and frantically pulled the reins and whipped the horses to control them.
The sounds of whips, shouts, curses, horses neighing and hooves merged into one, making the scene even more chaotic.
"Fuck him, what's going on!"
"Stop, coachman! Stop the carriage!"
"You bastard, how could you suddenly startle a horse?!"
"Get out of the way, those in front!"
The area that was originally full of carriages was empty in an instant, and a carriage that had someone hiding in it had disappeared.
Only a few big men were left who were knocked to the ground. After struggling to get up, they looked around, cursing even louder and more furious.
When he turned around and saw six people preparing to leave the Colosseum, a man immediately rushed over to stop them, pointing his finger horizontally, "Stop! Who are you? Were you the one who scared the horse just now?"
Bai Xiao Feng Yue waved his sleeve, sending the large man reeling twice. He glared down at him coldly with his snake-like eyes, "How dare a handyman point his finger at me? You're courting death!"
"A beast fight was going on in the Colosseum, and everyone was inside watching the excitement. Only a few of you left mid-fight, just as the slaves escaped and the horses jumped in panic. How could it have been such a coincidence if it weren't for you!" The other big men saw their companions being beaten and rushed over to fight. "I'm telling you, if you dare to cause trouble in the Colosseum, I don't care who you are. Even ordinary nobles would treat our owner with courtesy, let alone someone I've never even heard of!"
Before Bai Xiaofeng's face changed color, Xiao Mai Sui laughed first. He drew the whip from his waist and waved provocatively at Su Wu together. "Want to fight? I'm bored, come on!"
The old man got even more excited. He rubbed his hands together, took two steps forward, and pushed Bai Xiaofeng to the back. "Hey, fighting? Grandpa loves it! There are only one, two, three, four, or five of you. That's not enough. How about you call a few more people over? Grandpa can wait for you!"
Tianbao and Bai Yu reacted in exactly the same way. They didn't even look at these people, showing their arrogance to the fullest.
It's absolutely infuriating.
"Okay, okay! If you have the guts, don't leave!" The big man on duty was so angry that his face turned purple and he raised his voice to call for help.
At the right moment, a shout came from behind, "Ada, don't be rude to our distinguished guests. Everyone, leave!"
Tianbao turned around.
Then a middle-aged man was seen striding out of the Colosseum. He was wearing an ermine fur coat, a golden knife hanging from a belt around his waist, and his clothes exuded a rich and noble air.
When the big men saw the newcomer, they quickly suppressed their expressions and bowed respectfully, "Master!"
The owner of the East Arena waved his hand, signaling them to leave. He then walked over to Tian Bao and the others with a smile, bowing as if he were a guest of honor. "I apologize for the rudeness of the servants in the arena. I'm Xubu Chan, the owner of the arena. As an apology, you can come to the East District to watch the beast fights anytime during your stay in Yicheng. I'll reserve VIP seats for you as an apology. I hope you'll forgive me."
"Master Dong said it himself. Since it's just a misunderstanding, we won't take it to heart." In this kind of social interaction, Bai Yu automatically took the initiative to embrace him, raised his lips and smiled lightly, "The beast fight in the arena is exciting. We will come again next time. Master Dong, see you."
"Okay! I'll be waiting here!"
Bai Xiaofeng paused as he turned around, his serpentine eyes meeting the man who was watching him with a smile. "Master Dong is doing a good job in business, but he's not managing his servants well enough. He needs to train them more carefully, or they won't be able to wait for the master to rescue them next time and end up getting their necks twisted for nothing."
Xubu Chan's smile faltered for a moment. "Your Excellency is right. I will punish them severely later to teach them a lesson."
After the six people left leisurely, the big man who had just left appeared behind the East Field Master and said hatefully, "Field Master, it must be these guys who are behind this!"
"Shut up!" Xubu Chan shouted, his face darkening. "Tell them to stay away from them next time you run into them!"
"Owner?!" The big man was surprised when he heard this and cautiously probed, "Who on earth are they that makes the owner so wary?"
"They are the ones who dare to stab me! In short, don't provoke them before they leave Yicheng!"
Xubu Chan waved his sleeves. He was not really afraid of Su Jiuni and the other six, but if they faced each other, it would not just be a matter of the East Field.
The Khan wants to kill someone with a borrowed knife. Once he takes action, he will become the Khan's whetstone!
I can only endure it!
After walking a long way, Su Wu looked back and found that there was no one in front of the Colosseum.
"Don't you think it's a little strange? The owner's words and actions just now seemed reasonable, but I still feel something is amiss." He smacked his lips. "I guess he recognized us."
The response I got was that my companions had no reaction at all.
The old man squinted his eyes, looking extremely disgusted. "Even I guessed it long ago, but you're only just realizing it now. Are you missing something in your head?"
Su Wu was happy, "It seems that our name is known all over the world and has even spread here."
Everyone was silent for a moment, then laughed, and the depression they had felt at the Colosseum faded away.
