Chapter 39: Yamen runner embroidering?

When Ye Erniang saw the person coming, a smile flashed in her eyes:

"Sorry, I'm in the backyard and I'm a little slow."

Then he said to the Mao family members behind him:

"Are you tired from shopping? Come inside and take a rest."

As he said this, he moved aside to let them in.

Aside from Wen Xi, everyone else was a bit reserved. After all, they were prisoners and the others were officials. It was like a modern student meeting a teacher, or a mouse meeting a cat.

The store is not very big, only slightly larger than the house I rent now.

There's a back door leading to the backyard. It's not very big, with only two rooms and a well. There's no place to grow vegetables.

Ye Erniang let the few people into the house, went out and brought back a pot of water, and made a bowl of water for each person.

Wen Xi then asked the question in her heart:

"Auntie, why did you suddenly think of opening an embroidery shop?"

Ye Erniang looked up at her, and she seemed to be much more relaxed:

"Because I want to be the way she likes me."

Suddenly, they were both silent. Who liked it? They both understood.

Wen Xi was also happy that she was able to move on and remember her child in such a healthy way.

The Mao family members were confused, but that did not prevent them from noticing that Ye Erniang was different.

The person was still the same person, his skin was still the same, even the two deep wrinkles at the corners of his mouth, left by the pain, were still there. But his whole spirit was different.

Soft! Very soft. Even in her casual smile, you can see the faint dimples.

If someone who doesn’t know this person sees this, they will definitely exclaim, “This person must be someone who loves to laugh, right?”

But to the Mao family, it was a bit scary. I inexplicably missed the old Ye Erniang.

Ye Erniang also noticed that they were uncomfortable, and said in a friendly manner:

"I'll be embroidering and selling embroidery here from now on. If you have nothing to do at home, you can bring your embroidery to me for consignment. I won't make money from you."

Mao stood up in panic:

"How can I do that? I'm glad you gave me a chance. I wouldn't dare take advantage of you. Just charge us the same as other embroidery shops charge."

Ye Erniang smiled and didn't answer.

Wen Xi asked:

"Auntie, did you rent this shop?"

"No, I bought it. I've saved up some money over the past few years, and I don't usually spend it. The place isn't too big, and the price isn't too expensive, so I bought it. Oh, by the way, come over when you have time, and I'll teach you embroidery."

Wen Xi suddenly felt a headache:

"Haha, forget it! Well, I don't have much talent. I'm afraid I'll make you angry. You should find someone else to be your disciple!"

Ye Erniang couldn't stand her shameless look and waved her hand:

"Okay, forget it. Come and learn in the spring when your family is not busy."

It's so strong that there is no room for negotiation.

When they came out, Wen Xi still looked miserable.

Yamen runners embroidering? Mao was puzzled and poked her daughter, who was in a depressed state:

"Xi'er, does this Madam Ye really know how to embroider? Can you make money with it? Why doesn't she become a bodyguard or something like that?"

Wen Xi picked and chose and told them everything he felt he could, which made Mao and Xiangye sigh.

Knowing that Ye Erniang's embroidery was so amazing, Mao Shi couldn't sit still anymore. Although she was married into a wealthy family like the Gu Mansion, she was born into a peasant family and lacked a lot compared to others.

These embroiderers had all been brought into the mansion, learning the basics from the maids and servants. They were envious of those who could create lifelike works. Seeing her daughter win the favor of Ye Erniang, Mao was eager to pack up Wen Xi and send her over immediately. She had the air of a modern celebrity chaser.

The final result of the discussion was that she would come over when the family started building the house in the spring, since she couldn't help much at home anyway.

Of course, Wen Xi had no chance to express his opinion during this discussion. It was all decided by Mao and Xiang Ye, who spoke one after another.
