Chapter 58 Mr. Wild Boar

Ye Erniang enjoyed something that was impossible to find in northern Xinjiang. She didn't ask much, just thanked him and drank it all.

After all, it was getting late, so they quickly packed up and prepared to rest. Ye Erniang naturally slept in Wen Xi's room.

Wen Xi squeezed in to sleep with Mao.

The next day, before dawn, Wen Xi's biological alarm went off. Seeing her mother still sound asleep beside her, she quietly got dressed and walked out.

Ye Erniang had already started doing some simple activities in the yard.

"Master, do you want to go into the mountains? The air there must be better."

"Okay, let's go! It's really nice to live here. It's so comfortable just looking at it."

Wen Xi picked up the backpack and shovel from the corner, and the two of them gently pulled the latch back and forth and walked out.

Wen Xi replied with a smile:

"How about you come to our village, Master? You can build a yard right next to my house. How great is that?"

Ye Erniang smiled bitterly and said:

"If that hadn't happened, I would have been quite tempted by this proposal. Although the conditions in northern Xinjiang are indeed a bit worse, such a comfortable life is still very suitable for retirement."

That thing? Wen Xi just remembered the famine years and her mood suddenly dropped to the ground.

Ye Erniang touched her head:

"It's better for me to stay in the county at a time like this. If anything happens up there, I can notify you in time. Also, if the county is unsafe, I can come to your house. Conversely, if the village is unsafe, you'll have a place to hide, right? Oh, by the way, let's go back and buy the shop next door. If you come, the place you stay won't be good. I'll have to reinforce it as well."

The two of them chatted back and forth, planning their future in a very unplanned manner.

I also picked up some good wild vegetables.

This was Wen Xi's first time in the mountains since the beginning of spring. The vegetation there was abundant. But perhaps because it wasn't yet fruiting season, I couldn't tell what it was. I'd have to keep an eye on it.

But we still had a lot of harvest, including wild celery, wild onions, wild ginger, and mushrooms and wood ear mushrooms that bloomed after the rain a few days ago.

I have never seen villagers picking these things.

"Shh..."

Just as Wen Xi was happily moving forward, Ye Erniang reminded her not to make any noise.

Wen Xi saw his master squatting down and staring at one place, so he squatted down too.

After a while, the noise became louder, accompanied by humming.

Through the gaps in the grass, I could see a full-grown wild boar, struggling to pry up a plant. Its leg seemed injured, and it limped unsteadily.

The distance was only about two or three meters. Ye Erniang took out the dagger and flew over.

"puff……"

A knife stabbed into the wild boar's neck.

The position was not very good, but Ye Erniang had no intention of fighting. After stabbing, she didn't even look at her subordinates, drew her sword and ran away.

The wild boar was injured and furious. It randomly rammed around a few times before charging towards Ye Erniang with purpose.

In just a few breaths, Ye Erniang adjusted the dagger and faced the enemy head-on again.

When he got to the wild boar, he jumped up and stabbed it right in the eye with his knife, then ran away quickly.

The wild boar immediately began to bleed profusely. The more panicked it became, the weaker its crippled legs became. It staggered unsteadily as it walked.

Affected by the sight, he mistook the tree for an enemy and ran headfirst into it.

And then, nothing happened. I happily received my lunch.

Wen Xi looked at her panting master with stars in her eyes, a look of admiration on her face:

"Master, you are so powerful! When can I become as powerful as you?"

Ye Erniang slid down to the ground and said unhappily:

"I've been training with you for a while, but why is my vision still so poor? I'm only slightly better than the average person. Don't you see how I always run away after provoking it? That's because I can't stand up to it. And luckily it's injured, otherwise I would have been hurt too."

Wen Xi surrounded the wild boar with a sense of accomplishment, as if she had killed the wild boar herself:

"Hehe, that's also remarkable. It shows that Master has a good general's mind and knows how to delay the enemy."

"Come on, stop talking nonsense. What about the wild boar? Should we sell it? There are a lot of wild animals here. I don't think it will fetch much silver, but it's big enough, so we can still sell it for some money."

Wen Xi waved her hand and stared at the wild boar with a smile:

"We're not selling it? We're keeping it for ourselves. Oh, by the way, the wild boar was hunted by Master..."

Ye Erniang looked at Wen Xi with disdain:

"Speak nicely. What's mine is yours, isn't it? You're going to take care of me in my old age. I mean, this wild boar weighs at least 300 to 400 kilograms, and the weather is getting hotter. Can you finish it?"

"Hehe, keep it a secret. You'll know when the time comes. By the way, Master, how are we going to get it back?"

Ye Erniang stood up and brushed the dirt off her clothes:

"You wait here, I'll push the cart over. Oh, and stay away from the wild boar. If it attracts something else, just run away and ignore it."

After getting Wen Xi's answer, Ye Erniang quickly ran out of the woods.
