Chapter 178: Water Bandits Battle

Carefully putting Xie Ling aside, Gu Wei lay beside the small window, lifted a corner of the curtain, and looked out quietly.

The night is as dark as ink, and the waves are surging in the distance.

In the corridor outside the cabin, several unfamiliar faces were walking. They were all wearing shorts, with fierce eyes and scimitars in their hands, reflecting a captivating cold light.

At this time, those people gathered together, and no one knew what they were talking about.

There was a cold look in Gu Wei's eyes.

Water bandit?

He immediately drew out the sword hidden under the bed and stood in the shadow behind the door.

Then, he stretched out his long arms, rolled up the thin quilt beside him, and covered Xie Ling tightly.

Xie Ling has a petite figure, and at first glance it looks like there is no one in the bed.

Their room is the first one. If those bandits take action, he and Xie Ling will be the first to suffer!

The footsteps are getting closer.

With a loud "bang", the wooden door was kicked open.

A burly man walked in, glanced around, turned around, and said sternly, "No one!"

But just as he finished his words, a sharp sword chopped straight at the back of his neck!

Blood spurted out and the man fell forward heavily.

Gu Wei stepped aside and kicked the door shut.

He whispered, "A Ling, did I wake you up?"

Xie Ling woke up when the man yelled, but she was just pretending to be unconscious. When she heard Gu Wei's voice, she immediately stood up and asked, "What's going on?"

"We encountered water bandits."

As soon as Gu Wei finished speaking, the pirates' ship came crashing over. The whole ship began to shake, the furniture in the cabin turned over and over, and the two men fell backwards.

The collision woke up everyone on the sailboat.

No matter how sleepy they were, they were all suddenly awakened from their dreams.

At the same time, bursts of screams were heard in the dark night, and it was unclear whether they were from the bandits or the Lin family.

The air was filled with a pungent smell of blood.

Xie Ling took out a small pistol from the space and whispered, "Let's go!"

Gu Wei nodded, and the two of them opened the cabin door and ran up the corridor.

They encountered many tall pirates along the way, and they dealt with them all.

The cabins around were all empty, no one was there any longer.

Xie Ling prayed in her heart that everyone had run away, and she and Gu Wei walked around the stairs and went to the wide deck on the second floor.

Before they reached the deck, they saw from afar the Lin family's guards fighting with the pirates. Many of them were familiar faces, as they had just had a drink and chat together in the morning.

At this moment, everyone's face was covered in blood and they looked extremely ferocious.

A man is innocent unless he is in possession of a treasure.

It seems that the Lin family is well aware of this truth and shows no mercy to the pirates.

What surprised Xie Ling was Caiyi.

Looking at such a weak woman, she was actually carrying a big knife and moving freely among the bandits. With a chop from the knife, a head would fall to the ground, cleanly and neatly, without any delay.

In comparison, Lin Wenchang's martial arts were inferior. His fox eyes narrowed in the dark night, revealing a bloodthirsty cold light.

In his hand he was holding a thin sword to fend off the enemy. Although his movements were not as agile as Caiyi's, he could still protect himself.

The bandits poured in like a tide, and a big knife was about to chop Lin Wenchang's shoulder.

Caiyi's almond-shaped eyes widened and she screamed, "Husband!"

He pushed Lin Wenchang far away, and the big knife and the long knife of the water bandit collided with each other, making a clanging sound.

The pirate was so shocked that his palms went numb. He threw the long knife in his hand far away and said in shock: "You little girl!"

Before he could finish his words, Xie Ling shot him in the head.

Xie Ling quietly put the pistol into her sleeve and shouted over there: "Sister Caiyi! My husband and I are here to help you!"

Caiyi managed to divert a little attention from the blinding red, her almond-shaped eyes widened, and she said sternly, "Go to the first floor and wait for us. We will guard the second floor! Quick!"

That's enough.

Gu Wei and Xie Ling looked at each other and quickly joined the battlefield.

Caiyi saw that both of them had martial arts skills and showed a grateful look.

The full moon was high in the sky, and the Lin family's sailboat had been completely surrounded by the pirates' ships.

Looking around, there were more than a dozen of them, large and small, all brightly lit and crowded with people.

Even though so many people had died, there were still an endless stream of pirates who threw ropes with eagle claw hooks onto the Lin family's merchant ship and then climbed up using the ropes.

In the darkness of night, these pirates looked ferocious, with terrifying and bloodthirsty expressions on their faces, like the evil spirits in the legend.

Gu Wei took a quick look and found that some of the Lin family's guards could no longer hold on. He shouted, "Those who can't hold on, go into the cabin and rest for a while. I'm here, trust me!"

His voice was deep but very penetrating, and it was quite powerful when it reached everyone's ears.

Almost all of the Lin family guards were stabbed. Even Lin Wenchang had a scar on his arm that was so deep that the bone could be seen, and it was dripping with blood.

But he seemed unaware. Wen Ya, with blood on her face, stabbed a pirate in the stomach with her sword, then quickly ran to Cai Yi and protected her back.

Following Gu Wei's words, some guards who were seriously injured and unable to hold on were helped off the deck one after another under the protection of Xie Ling.

They no longer have the ability to fight, and staying would only be a burden.

The deck suddenly became much emptier, and on the contrary, the number of pirates increased.

The circle of Gu Wei and others kept shrinking, and finally, they were directly surrounded by layers of bandits.

Looking around, there are pairs of cold eyes, like bloodthirsty wolves in the dark night, emitting a faint green light.

This group of pirates seemed to be unable to see the bodies and blood of their companions. They raised their long knives and let out arrogant and strange roars.

Lin Wenchang said sternly: "Do you know that this is the Lin family's caravan? The Lin from Huainan City!"
