Chapter 29 Detoxifying Snake Venom

The villagers were puzzled. Seeing that they didn't move, Ruan Meng saw her third brother and reminded him:

"Third Brother, watch your step! There's a sea snake, it's highly venomous!"

"Have everyone disperse, watch their step, and retreat back to the shore!"

"Keep an eye on Second Brother, don't let him come any closer!"

The third brother acted quickly, glanced at his feet, and immediately evacuated the villagers.

Ruan Meng carried the boy and quickly ran to the shore, tore off the hem of her clothes, and bandaged the wound.

He said to the child's mother and the villagers, "Bring water, spring water, preferably boiled spring water, bring plenty!"

The child's mother was still in shock and couldn't process what had happened.

When the villagers saw this, they told their wives to watch over the boy's mother, and then they gathered a few other villagers to go home and fetch water.

"Is it a dagger or a knife?"

Ruan Meng looked at the child, the closed wound, and said to the person behind her.

"Little sister, shall I go home and get it?"

As soon as the third brother started driving, a voice answered from behind, "I have one!"

As he spoke, he washed the knife in seawater to remove the mud.

He had two small bamboo baskets tucked around his waist; he was picking up seashells and prying them open.

After washing off the mud, the other party handed over the knife.

Ruan Meng gently pried open the wound with the tip of her knife and sucked on it. She then took a pot of water that the villager carried with him and rinsed her mouth with the spring water while sucking and spitting it out.

Just then, the villagers who had gone back to fetch water rushed back. Ruan Meng gave the child to a villager so he could hold the child, while the others carried the spring water and repeatedly washed the wounds.

Taking advantage of this opportunity, he and his third brother ran home.

I opened the medicine packet, prepared the antidote, and asked my third brother to help me decoct it. I then lit a fire to disinfect the knife and bottle opening that I had just used to treat the wound.

Meanwhile, he prepared herbs such as Scutellaria barbata and Paris polyphylla, washed and mashed them, wrapped them in leaves, and ran to apply them to the boy.

The rest was given to the boy.

As early as when Ruan Meng was sucking the boy's wound, the boy's mother had already regained consciousness and was about to kneel down, but was stopped by the villagers.

Tears streamed down her face; she was filled with boundless gratitude for Ruan Meng.

After Ruan Meng treated the wound, the boy weakly regained consciousness.

The third brother brought the medicine and gave it to the boy. Ruan Meng then asked the village woman to take the child back to rest.

Ruan Meng observed the child's condition and said that the child would wake up at night. She applied the remaining medicinal herbs from the leaves to the body, and the child would wake up soon.

The village woman, holding her son, immediately knelt down before Ruan Meng, overwhelmed with gratitude.

The villagers escorted the mother and child away, and the rest of the people gradually dispersed, looking at Ruan Meng with deep admiration.

The second child was on the shore, as anxious as an ant on a hot pan.

She couldn't help, and she was worried about her younger brother and sister.

With this delay, the sun grew stronger.

Ruan Meng called her third brother to go home together. Her sister-in-law was washing the pot for decocting medicine, while her eldest brother and second brother carried the wooden basin containing seafood into the house.

The second brother rolled up his sleeves, staring blankly at the swimming eels.

But he felt sorry for his third son and sister, so he still planned to cook for them himself.

Ruan Meng was indeed a little tired. Seeing her second brother's expression, she casually said, "Leave it alone, eldest brother! It bites!"

The second child exclaimed "Ah!" and jumped far behind him.

After jumping, Ruan Meng laughed wearily. Seeing this, her elder brother and sister-in-law realized that Ruan Meng was deliberately teasing the second brother, and they couldn't help but laugh as well.

"Little sister, what do you suggest? I'll do it!"

The older sister-in-law washed her hands.

Ruan Meng took out her needle bag and helped her brother lie down. "Sister-in-law, after I finish acupuncture on my brother, will you give him a massage?"

"Of all things, my brother's health is the most important. My sister-in-law's massage is already saving me a lot of effort."

The eldest sister-in-law smiled and walked to the side to watch.

Before administering the acupuncture, Ruan Meng reminded the two men outside, "Second brother, could you go and fetch some water? We're out of water at home, so fetch a lot!"

The second child, now useful, happily carried the bucket away.

"Third Brother, please help rinse the seafood we picked up. Leave the conger eel there, and rinse the rest several times."

"Okay!"

The third brother got to work quickly.

After two sets of acupuncture needles, the older sister-in-law sat down slowly, preparing for a massage, and took the initiative to speak:

"Little sister, I don't know if it's just my imagination, but I feel like your brother's health seems to have improved a lot."

"I'm not as out of breath after sitting or standing for a long time."

Ruan Meng said proudly, "Don't you even look at who's providing the diagnosis?"

Before her sister-in-law could react, Ruan Meng packed up her needle case and swaggered out the door.

The elder sister-in-law chuckled and asked her husband, who was lying down, "Husband, it seems that my younger sister has not only become smarter, but also more lively?"

Ruan Qian smiled and said, "Isn't that good? She's just being herself."

When Ruan Qian returned with spring water, he saw his younger sister holding a kitchen knife and was so frightened that he stepped back.

After cleaning the eel's internal organs, Ruan Meng rinsed it repeatedly and cut it into sections. She then coated the eel meat with a sauce made of oyster sauce, salt, and a little spring water, and slowly pan-fried it over low heat...

The second brother, who had been frightened by the eel's "fierce" appearance, slowly approached Ruan Meng and said, "Little sister, it smells pretty good, doesn't it?"

Ruan Meng felt regretful. Last time, she was so busy buying tools that she forgot to buy many seasonings, such as soy sauce and sugar. Otherwise, her eel rice would have been a sensation!
