Chapter 3 My Brothers Aren't Bad Guys! (Add this to your bookshelf so you don't get lost!)

The onlookers all looked in the direction the fisherman was pointing.

Between the waves, a bundle-like "thing" floated on the surface of the sea, getting closer and closer to the shore.

Those Tanka people who were nearby returned to their boats and used oars to push the "packages" to the shore.

The bolder fishermen went forward to investigate.

The other brothers of the Song family also followed the crowd and went forward to watch.

As the fisherman turned the "package" over, a woman cried out in surprise...

"Oh! It's a child!"

The little girl had pigtails tied with pink ribbons.

The little girl lay face down on the sea surface...

The colorful dress, soaked in seawater, bulged out and looked just like a "burden".

After a brief examination, the fisherman shook his head and said, "He's drowned!"

Looking out at the sea, I wonder how long this little girl has been soaking in it...

Judging from the style of her hair tie and dress, she's clearly not a child from the island...

Not only on the island, but even children brought by merchants from neighboring Fujian and Guangzhou had never worn clothes made of this material...

With doubts about the child's identity, onlookers dared not approach.

But it was still a life, and a woman sighed, "Poor child! How worried his parents must be!"

"Yes! He's so young, he looks only four or five years old, right? What a tragedy!"

"What should we do now? Should we just leave it like this?"

......

The onlookers were talking amongst themselves. Apart from the fishermen who had initially conducted the inspection, they all stood aside now, and no one stepped forward.

They were either worried about the girl's background or about getting into trouble;

Either they're powerless to help, barely able to support their own children, let alone care about another mouth to feed...

Some people have pity, but not enough kindness.

If we take care of this child, even if he/she dies, we can't just leave him/her on the shore and ignore him/her...

Whether you throw it away or bury it, it becomes a burden...

At this moment, the Song brothers pushed aside the onlookers.

Song Chengjian, the second son of the Song family, took the child into his arms and checked her temperature and breath...

"Big brother, he's still breathing!"

Song Chengjian looked up at his elder brother.

Song Chenghou squatted closer and instructed his second brother, "The little girl has been soaking in the seawater for so long..."

Second brother, do you want to help the little girl expel the seawater from her body, and then let sixth brother take a look?

Song Chenghou's calm demeanor and unhurried voice inexplicably calmed everyone present.

The Tanka people and fishermen suddenly realized that these men had just helped treat a child stung by a fish fin, and they had completely forgotten about it...

The Song family had many brothers, and the youngest brother had fallen into the mansion's pond several times...

The second son, Song Chengjian, was skilled in martial arts and had specially sought out a master to learn how to expel water from the lungs of a drowning person.

Song Chengjian controlled his strength as he patted the little girl's back...

A moment later, the little girl, who had been keeping her eyes closed, suddenly started coughing violently, vomiting up large mouthfuls of seawater she had swallowed...

Song Chengjian couldn't dodge in time and his pants were vomited on.

But he didn't care at all; his gaze remained fixed on the little girl's face.

Not only him, but everyone else looked at the little girl.

Her eyelids slowly opened, revealing crystal-clear pupils, like a cat's eyes or a glass ball.

It was big and round, with watery eyes, and looked especially pitiful because of its weakness.

Song Chengjian said "Excuse me" to the women watching, and then took off his prison clothes and put them on the little girl in his arms.

The sixth brother, Song Chengfeng, put down the child and rushed over.

After checking the little girl, I smiled slightly and said, "Hey! You're lucky! You're alright..."

The onlookers, relieved to have escaped a false alarm, all showed joy on their faces.

The Song family discovered that although Yazhou sounded like a monstrous flood, the ordinary Tanka people and fishermen were actually quite kind.

However, they are a rather bold bunch; Song Chengjian took off his shirt, and there were other men present, both old and young women...

They didn't avoid or glance at each other at all, as if it were commonplace and there was nothing to hide.

As soon as Wen Shishi opened her eyes, she saw a magnified, handsome but somewhat fierce-looking face.

She was still being held in his arms, surrounded by other people dressed in strange clothes.

She pouted, waited for another "brother" with a braid to examine her, and then looked around...

I didn't see any familiar faces—Grandpa, Dad, Mom...

Finally, unable to contain her fear, she burst into tears, "Ah..."

I want my grandpa!

ah! "

The crying was so loud it seemed the heavens and earth would collapse, the seas would dry up, and the rocks would crumble.

Song Chengjian was at a loss, so Song Chenghou took Wen Shishi from him and gently patted her back to let her vent her emotions.

The Tanka people and fishermen behind them, upon seeing this, all showed expressions of pity.

As Wen Shishi's crying subsided and she gradually calmed down, Song Chenghou gently comforted her, "Little sister, we're not bad people..."

"You fell into the water, and it was your brothers and everyone else who just rescued you..."

Wen Shishi seemed to understand, but not quite. With her big, watery eyes, she nodded gently.

Song Chenghou smiled and continued to coax, "Can you tell your brother where your family went?"

"You just called me 'Grandpa,' were you with him before you fell into the sea?"

Wen Shishi tilted her head, recalling the scene from before.

Grandpa was taking her on a private plane, but the plane suddenly went out of control!
