Chapter 120 The Old Man Refuses to Help

"Okay, I'll go to the police station first to check and find out what's going on." Lawyer Yang, having no other option, agreed to go and see.

"Okay, go quickly."

Aunt Ye looked unwell, with tears still on her face and her makeup ruined, but she seemed a bit more sober now.

"How about it?"

He agreed to go to the police station to check first.

"Then let's wait for his reply first."

"It seems that's all we can do for now. What stupid thing did your son do that gave them a handle to use against him? Now look what's happened, he's landed himself in jail."

Uncle Ye grew angrier the more he thought about it, and slammed his hand on the table, making the teacups on it jump.

Aunt Ye wiped away her tears and said in a choked voice, "What's the use of saying all this now? The most important thing is to find a way to rescue Ah Xuan. If we can't rescue him, our family will be finished!"

Uncle Ye also fell silent. They only had this one son. If they couldn't rescue him, what would they, the old couple, do?

While still crying, Aunt Ye suddenly thought of something; "That's right, find your father. Let's go find him now. Lu Tingyan listens to him the most. Maybe if we go to Lu Tingyan, Lu Tingyan will immediately release our son."

"Okay, let's go now and find my dad."

The elderly couple hadn't changed their clothes, their hair was still a bit messy, and Aunt Ye didn't even notice that her makeup was smudged, before they rushed to the old house.

After arriving at the old house, the two went straight to Old Master Ye's room. The butler frowned when he saw them; the old master's guess was correct.

He quickly stepped forward to stop them: "Second Master, Second Madam, what is it you need? Master fell ill last night. The doctor prescribed medicine, and he only fell asleep shortly after taking it. Please don't disturb him."

"Uncle Hao, I really need to talk to my dad, please let us in." Uncle Ye was very anxious; his father was now their son's only lifeline. How could they possibly give up?

"I'm sorry, Second Master, I can't let you in. The doctor instructed that the Master needs to rest after taking this medicine and cannot be subjected to any stimulation."

When Aunt Ye saw that the housekeeper was blocking them and wouldn't let them in no matter what, she simply knelt down at the door of the old man's bedroom.

She cried out, "Dad, please save your grandson! He's been kidnapped by Lu Tingyan. We have no other choice but to come to you for help."

When Uncle Ye saw his wife kneel down, he knelt down as well.

"Dad, please save your grandson. Only you can save him now."

“Yes, Dad, Lu Tingyan usually listens to you the most. Talk to him and ask him to release Ah Xuan. Dad, I’m kowtowing to you. Ah Xuan is your grandson, please save him.” After saying this, Aunt Ye kowtowed three times heavily, her forehead bleeding from the impact.

When Uncle Ye saw that his wife's forehead was bleeding from kowtowing, he also kowtowed three times.

"Dad, I've kowtowed to you too. Please save Ah Xuan. We can't live without him."

The old man, who was lying in bed and was very weak, had originally intended to pretend to be asleep and not hear their cries, but they wouldn't leave, and the sound of their crying kept drifting in.

He said helplessly to the person outside the door, "Come in."

Upon hearing this, Uncle Ye and Aunt Ye quickly stood up and went into the room.

"Why are you all in such a hurry to find me? What happened?" Old Master Ye asked weakly, leaning against the bed.

"Dad, Lu Tingyan took Ah Xuan away! Please, please save him!" Aunt Ye pleaded again, crying.

After a moment of silence, Old Master Ye sighed and said, "I know about this matter. Since Ah Xuan has committed a crime, he should accept the punishment of the law. I can't help him."

"Dad, Ah Xuan is your own grandson! How can you just stand by and watch him die!" Aunt Ye cried even louder.

With a sorrowful expression, Old Master Ye said, "Precisely because he is my grandson, I must make him take responsibility for his actions. If everyone can escape responsibility for breaking the law, what fairness is there in this society?"

Uncle Ye and Aunt Ye looked at each other, not expecting the old man to be so resolute.

"But Dad, if Ah Xuan goes to jail, his life will be ruined!" Uncle Ye wanted to plead again.

"That's what he got for his own actions." Old Master Ye turned his head away, no longer looking at them. "You can go back now. I won't get involved in this matter."

Uncle Ye and Aunt Ye had no choice but to leave in disappointment, filled with resentment towards the old man. They decided to find other ways to save Ah Xuan, no matter the cost, they were determined to ensure Ah Xuan's safety.

After Uncle Ye and Aunt Ye left, the butler came in; "Master, won't they hate you for doing this?"

"Ah Hao, let them hate us if they want. Ah Xuan is too lawless. Only when he is punished will he restrain himself." Old Master Ye closed his eyes, his face full of exhaustion.

The butler sighed and fell silent. He knew the old man's decision was correct, but he was worried that the second master and his group might do something drastic. After all, young master Xuan was their precious child, and they certainly wouldn't give up on him easily.

On the other side, when Uncle Ye and Aunt Ye returned home, their faces were both grim, so somber they could drip water.

"What does your father mean? Ah Xuan is also his grandson. He just stands by and watches him go to jail without doing anything. Is this how a grandfather should act?" Aunt Ye's eyes were filled with undisguised hatred.

"Alright, that's enough!" Uncle Ye scolded. "We need to find a way to save Ah Xuan right away."

"What can we do? Even the old man won't help," Aunt Ye said anxiously.

Uncle Ye pondered for a moment, a resolute glint in his eyes: "Since we can't rely on the old man, we can only rely on ourselves. I still have some savings; if it's not enough, I'll sell the house. No matter what, we must rescue Ah Xuan!"

Aunt Ye gritted her teeth and nodded in agreement, "That's the only way. It's all because the old man is biased, only doting on the eldest son's children, and so cruel to our Ah Xuan. Once Ah Xuan gets out, we'll never speak to the old man again!"

After discussing it, the two began to take action. They traveled everywhere, seeking connections and sparing no expense, all to rescue their son.

While they were busy smoothing things over, Attorney Yang called.

"Attorney Yang, how is it?" Uncle Ye quickly answered the phone.

"I'm sorry, Mr. Ye, your son's case cannot be closed on bail. The police say he's suspected of murder, a serious offense, and they won't grant bail. I've done everything I can, but there's really nothing more I can do."

After he finished speaking, the other end hung up the phone without waiting for him to reply.

Uncle Ye looked at the phone that had been hung up, his anger growing even stronger.

"How is it? Can you get bail?" Aunt Ye asked quickly when she saw him staring blankly at his phone.

"They can't grant bail. They say Ah Xuan is a serious offender and won't grant him bail."

Upon hearing what he said, Aunt Ye collapsed to the ground.
