A few days later, Father Ye arranged for everyone to go to the cemetery together.
Aunt Ye's health was deteriorating day by day. Xiao Qianqian prescribed several remedies for her, but the effects were not obvious. Everyone knew that her illness was psychological, and the medication would not be very effective for her. She needed time to heal.
In the cemetery, Aunt Ye looked at her husband's smile on the tombstone, and the sorrow in her heart poured out. She slowly knelt down and cried out in anguish.
"Honey, I'm so sorry, it's all my fault."
Ye Boxuan also knelt down and cried, "Dad, I've come to see you. I'm sorry, it's all my fault."
The mother and son knelt before the tombstone, weeping bitterly. Several people standing nearby wanted to comfort them, but felt it was pointless; they believed that expressing their grief was the best way to cope.
"Ah Xuan, we'll wait for you at the foot of the mountain."
"Okay, Uncle."
Father Ye led the others away, leaving the mother and son some space.
Ye Boxuan gently hugged his mother's trembling shoulders, trying to offer some comfort. After a long while, Aunt Ye gradually stopped crying and raised her tear-streaked face.
"Ah Xuan, your mother regrets it. If it weren't for me, your father and grandfather wouldn't have died, and even your biological father wouldn't have died. It was all because of my momentary lapse of judgment that I caused the deaths of three people. I am guilty." Aunt Ye's voice was hoarse, and tears streamed down her face.
"Mom, it's not your fault, it's all my fault. If I hadn't acted impulsively and done something stupid, you wouldn't have done it?" Ye Boxuan knelt down and cried bitterly.
Aunt Ye shook her head, staring blankly into the distance. "Son, you go down the mountain first. I want to talk to your father more."
"Mom?" Ye Boxuan looked at his mother, not wanting to go down the mountain; he also wanted to spend time with his father.
“Go ahead, Mom’s fine. I just want to talk to your dad. I used to get annoyed with him when he was alive, but now that he’s gone, I miss his nagging. I’m sure he’ll be happy if I talk to him more.”
"Mom, what about it?"
"Go."
"Alright then, but Mom, hurry up, Uncle and the others are waiting."
"Um."
Ye Boxuan couldn't refuse his mother, so he had to leave and go down the mountain. Second Aunt Ye watched his back, very reluctant to part with him, and couldn't take her eyes off him for a long time.
Down in the car, the group was still chatting when Ye Boxuan pushed open the car door and got in.
"Ah Xuan, where's your mother? Why are you the only one who came down?" Father Ye asked, looking at him.
"Uncle, my mom said she wants to talk to my dad and asked me to come down and wait for her."
The people in the car exchanged glances, feeling a little worried.
"Ah Xuan, your mother isn't well. Will you leave her there alone?" Mother Ye said worriedly.
"Aunt, I know what you're worried about. If my mom hasn't come down in a few minutes, I'll go up."
"Oh well."
The group waited in the car for Aunt Ye, not in the mood to chat. Ye Boxuan kept glancing at his watch; almost ten minutes had passed and his mother still hadn't come down, so he started to get anxious.
“Let’s go up and take a look,” Father Night said.
"Okay." He pushed open the car door, got out, and walked quickly up the mountain. He had a feeling of unease in his heart, and he took bigger steps.
From a distance, he saw his mother lying on the ground. He thought she had fainted from crying, so he quickly ran over.
As he approached, he saw a large pool of blood on the ground. He stepped forward, helped his mother up, and reached out a trembling finger to check her breath. His mother was no longer breathing.
"Mom~" Suddenly, a loud cry of pain echoed throughout the cemetery.
The people in the car at the foot of the mountain heard his crying and sensed something was wrong, so they quickly got out of the car.
Ye Boxuan held his mother's body and wept bitterly, his eyes empty and filled with despair.
When Ye Fu and the others arrived, they were also shocked and at a loss when they saw this scene.
Father Ye was the first to recover. He stepped forward and patted Ye Boxuan on the shoulder; "Boxuan, please accept my condolences. Your mother probably misses your father, so she went to see him."
"Don't be too sad, let your second aunt rest in peace," Ye Bosen said, stepping forward.
Ye Boxuan held his mother's body and wept bitterly, his cries echoing around the cemetery for a long time.
"It's all my fault. Why did I listen to her and leave? If I hadn't left, my mother wouldn't have..."
"Ah Xuan, don't blame yourself. This was your mother's choice. Just let her go in peace," Mother Ye said, stepping forward to comfort her.
The faces of the group were filled with sorrow. None of them had expected that Aunt Ye would be so despondent as to take her own life.
A few days later, Ye Boxuan held a simple funeral for his second aunt and buried her together with his second uncle.
In the Liuyuan Study, the two brothers sat facing each other.
"What are your plans? Go back to the company and help me out." Ye Bosen looked at him and patted him on the shoulder.
Having endured so many setbacks and the loss of loved ones, Ye Boxuan has matured considerably.
"No, brother, I want to go out and try my luck on my own. If it doesn't work out, I'll come back to you."
"You want to leave?"
"Yes, I'm thinking of going to Country C. I lived there for a while, and I felt there were business opportunities there, so I'm thinking of developing my business there."
"Then I won't keep you any longer. In short, the Ye family's door is always open to you, and your elder brother welcomes you back anytime."
"Okay, thank you, brother."
"When are you leaving?"
"It should be in the next day or two. I've already made the arrangements on my end."
"good."
Two days later, at the airport, members of the Ye family came to see Ye Boxuan off.
"Ah Xuan, take good care of yourself when you get there," Father Ye said, looking at him.
