Seeing the piece of bright red tripe that Xiao Qianqian put in his bowl, he hesitated with his chopsticks before putting it in his mouth. Instantly, a spicy sensation shot through his taste buds, and he immediately spat out the tripe. He then hissed and gulped down the juice next to him until he had drunk two glasses of juice, which finally diluted the spiciness in his mouth, leaving his lips red from the spiciness.
"Hahaha, senior brother, you can't eat spicy food?" Xiao Qianqian laughed so hard she almost fell over when she saw Tang Yixiao's face turn red from the spiciness.
Tang Yixiao looked at her somewhat awkwardly, thinking to himself, "This little girl is getting more and more mischievous."
"Alright, alright, stop laughing. Eat up, or the food will get overcooked." Tang Yixiao tried to change the subject.
Xiao Qianqian stopped laughing and picked up her chopsticks to continue eating. However, she noticed that Tang Yixiao hadn't touched his chopsticks at all.
"Senior brother, why aren't you eating?" Xiao Qianqian asked in confusion.
Tang Yixiao glanced at the hot pot on the table, then at Xiao Qianqian, and shook her head helplessly. "I still can't handle this much spice. You can eat slowly."
Xiao Qianqian's eyes darted around, and she suddenly had an idea. "Senior brother, wait for me a moment." After saying that, she stood up, walked to the condiment area, and mixed a bowl of sauce.
"Senior brother, try this sauce. It's specially made to relieve the spiciness. I guarantee you'll be able to eat it." Xiao Qianqian looked at Tang Yixiao expectantly.
Tang Yixiao, still somewhat skeptical, dipped his finger in the sauce and tasted it. Sure enough, the intense spiciness was much milder, and he could finally enjoy the hot pot normally.
"Not bad, this sauce is really effective. Junior Sister, you're quite good at making sauces," Tang Yixiao praised.
Xiao Qianqian smiled smugly, "Of course, I'm very good at it. But, senior brother, you should try more different flavors in the future, you can't always be so picky about food."
Tang Yixiao nodded, secretly deciding that next time she would definitely ask the chef to prepare some less spicy dishes to avoid embarrassing herself again.
