Chapter 73 Eliminating the Harmful Flower

By the river, the villagers carried a lot of firewood in an orderly fashion and piled it up. When A'gen saw Xiao Qianqian and the others coming, he greeted them warmly.

"Dr. Xiao, is this alright?"

Xiao Qianqian glanced at it and thought it was not bad.

"Hmm, well done. Once they're all piled up, we can start the fire."

Okay.

The villagers were enthusiastic and worked diligently for more than half an hour until all the firewood was piled up. The village chief, holding the village loudspeaker, gave the order: "Light the fire!"

Suddenly, flames rose up along the riverbank, all the firewood piles were ablaze, and the firelight blazed, illuminating the faces of the villagers.

The flowers, which had been blooming very brightly, withered and died rapidly when exposed to the firelight. About an hour later, the fire went out, and all the strange plants withered as well. The riverbank was suddenly desolate, devoid of its former vibrant spring. But the villagers were very happy, for these harmful things were finally gone and would no longer harm them.

The village chief walked over at this moment; "Dr. Xiao, the lime powder is ready, should we spread it now?"

"Okay, keep up the good work and finish it in one go. Remember to be careful and make sure to sprinkle everything on top, without missing anything."

"Okay, don't worry about that."

The villagers brought over the prepared lime powder and then arranged for the women and young people to spread it. Xiao Qianqian walked around and saw that they were all working very carefully and did not see any places that were missed.

"Dr. Xiao, do you think this is okay?" The woman who had invited Xiao Qianqian to her house for dinner last time couldn't help but ask with a smile when she saw Xiao Qianqian.

"Hmm, well done, very meticulous, keep it up."

"Good." Encouraged, the woman buried herself in her work and worked even harder.

Xiao Qianqian and the experts took a look around and, seeing how enthusiastically they were working, decided not to disturb them any further and invited them back to their tents.

"We should be able to go back tomorrow, right? My family has been talking about it for ages," the middle-aged expert asked, taking a sip of tea.

"It should be fine if nothing unexpected happens. I still have a lot of things to deal with at my hospital," another female expert said. She is the vice president of the hospital and has a lot of things to do. She has been here for more than ten days.

"Yes, I didn't expect to be away for more than ten days. I'll be quite busy when I get back."

"Me too. My students have called me several times, waiting for me to come back and give them guidance."

...

Everyone was chattering about going back, but Xiao Qianqian sat quietly to the side, replying to messages on her phone with a smile on her face.

"Xiao girl, why aren't you saying anything? Don't you want to go back?" The gray-haired expert couldn't help but want to talk to the little girl who was sitting there silently. He liked her very much; she was a very promising talent. Unfortunately, she already had a master, and he was too late.

Oh, right, doesn't he have a grandson? Hehe, his grandson is very aloof and has high standards. He still doesn't have a girlfriend. Why not introduce this girl to his grandson? That way, the girl he likes might become his granddaughter-in-law, and he can still teach her what he knows. Hmm, this idea is really good. He imagined himself enjoying the idea.

Xiao Qianqian looked up when she heard what he said and said, "Okay, you can talk, I'm listening."

After saying that, she buried her head in replying to messages again. The gray-haired expert saw that she seemed very busy, so he didn't bother her. He took out his phone and pressed the shutter.

I opened my aloof grandson's WeChat and sent him the photo.

Liu Yichen, who was in the middle of a high-level meeting in the conference room, heard a "ding" sound. He glanced at it and saw that it was a message from his grandfather, who was a bit of a rascal. He was busy and didn't have time to read the message. He was just about to turn his head back to continue the meeting when he realized that his grandfather had sent a photo. He couldn't help but be curious, so he picked up his phone and opened the photo his grandfather had sent.

It was a very dim and somewhat blurry photo. He clicked on it and looked at it carefully. He was immediately surprised and stood up. It was her.

He picked up his phone, gave his assistant a few instructions, and then hurriedly left the conference room.

He returned to his luxurious office and dialed his grandfather's number; "Grandpa, what's the photo you sent?"

The gray-haired expert, holding his phone, stepped out of the tent and went to a secluded spot before saying, "So? Do you like it?"

"Grandpa, are you with her?"

"Isn't that obvious? Just tell me, do you like it?"

"Grandpa, where are you?" The voice on the other end sounded a little anxious.

Hearing his aloof grandson's anxious voice, the gray-haired expert felt a surge of joy. "Look," he thought, "there's hope!" Even his aloof grandson was getting impatient.

"Yes, we're out of town." The gray-haired expert was now at ease. He planned to tease his grandson and make him angry that he was so old and didn't even know how to hold a grandson for him.

"Where is 'outside the city'?" The voice on the other end sounded even more anxious.

"Oh, don't worry about it, we're just out of town anyway."

"Grandpa?" The people on the other end couldn't do anything about his grandfather, so they had to resort to their trump card: acting cute.

"I don't care, I'm going to find her right now," Liu Yichen said anxiously.

"You rascal, you're usually as cold as an ice cube, why are you in such a hurry now?" Grandpa said with a smile.

"Grandpa, I... I just want to see her as soon as possible." Liu Yichen's tone carried a rare hint of shyness.

"Haha, alright, then you can find it yourself. I'm not telling you." Grandpa deliberately kept everyone in suspense.

"Grandpa really won't tell? Then you can forget about having a grandson in the future." The man on the other end began his threat. This old man always knew how to urge marriage, but now that his sweetheart had appeared, he was keeping it a secret. How annoying.

"You little rascal, you've learned to threaten me now!" Grandpa said with a laugh. "But if you really want to know, go and find out for yourself. I can only give you a hint: we're in a very remote place, and it's very isolated here. You'd better hurry up, because we'll be going back in a day or two after we finish our business."

After saying that, the gray-haired expert hung up the phone with a stern expression, a fox-like smile on his face.

He returned to the tent feeling refreshed, only to find the girl still engrossed in her phone.

"Little Xiao, let's add each other on WeChat. We should keep in touch often." The gray-haired expert had already made up his mind. Seeing how eager the young man was, there was definitely potential. Maybe this girl would become his granddaughter-in-law soon.
