Chapter 132 Long Time No See

After remaining silent for a while, Li Gan slowly raised his head. His eyes were filled with deep sorrow, and his expression was much gentler than usual, looking somewhat weak, which was not the expression he should have.

He exhaled softly, his brow furrowing, all the sorrow in his eyes vanishing, leaving only his usual indifference. He coughed lightly and called out loudly, "Liuli!"

He put his hands behind his back and started walking forward, calling out Liuli's name in a deep voice as he went.

After walking for a while, he became impatient and rushed forward, shouting Liuli's name as he casually turned and walked forward. If he encountered a dead end, he would turn back. All the changes in the killing formations along the way posed no threat to him. The swords, spears, halberds, and blades formed from demonic energy shot towards him with great momentum, but Li Gan simply ignored them. His blood-red cloak automatically emitted a blood-red light, blocking all the killing weapons.

Li Gan rushed forward, carefully examining the many corpses he encountered along the way, none of which resembled the woman Li Molin had described. As he continued his search, Li Gan grew increasingly impatient, his brow furrowing deeper.

The vast magic array was quiet except for the slight sound of the wind. Wherever Li Gan passed, there was no other sound except for his shouts. Until he turned onto a dead end and was about to turn around and leave, he suddenly heard a faint voice calling out, "Han boy... Yin'er... Xing'er!"

"Han'er? Liang Yihan? Are you there? If you are, please answer... Your martial uncle is here to save you! You mustn't die, or your master will definitely cry..."

The voice was so familiar, carried on the wind, and struck Li Gan like a heavy hammer, causing him to shudder and freeze in place.

The voice carried on the wind, still calling out several names, but Li Gan couldn't hear it at all. He was stunned for a while, then suddenly rushed in the direction from which the voice came. He was so fast that he left a trail of afterimages behind him.

Li Gan kept rushing forward, turning several corners but still couldn't see the figure from his memory. Suddenly, the voice stopped, and Li Gan abruptly stopped. Suddenly, the black demonic energy in the passage he was in surged, and at the end of this dead end, countless black demonic needles suddenly shot out from the black wall. These needles were about the size of embroidery needles, swarming out like hairs, rushing towards Li Gan without leaving any gaps.

Li Gan stood still, not even glancing at the demonic needles. Instead, he was intently searching for the suddenly vanished sound with his head slightly lowered. As soon as he heard the delicate whistling of the demonic needles cutting through the air, he frowned, suddenly flicked his sleeve, and his blood-red cloak shone brightly, transforming into a wide blood-red light screen that met the black needles, enveloping them completely. The blood-red light screen continued to compress inward, the blood-red light growing stronger and stronger, until finally, it vanished along with all the demonic needles like smoke.

Li Gan's ears fell silent once more, then the woman's voice rang out again, calling out, "Han'er! Yin'er! Xing'er...you little rascals, answer me!"

The voice sounded somewhat anxious and impatient, but to Li Gan's delight, it was now very close. He slowly walked forward, turned left, walked through a long passage, turned right, and then stopped.

In the wide passage ahead, a woman dressed in a blue Taoist robe was squatting beside a corpse, examining it closely. With her fair and slender right hand, she dispersed the black mist beside the corpse. Upon closer inspection, she saw that it was the corpse of a young boy. His face was covered with wounds and bloodstains, but his features were still vaguely discernible. He was not a disciple of the Yuandao Sect.

The woman shook her head and sighed softly, saying in a low voice, "So young... what a pity..."

After a moment of sighing, she slowly stood up, muttering to herself, "It's good that it's not Han'er and the others, especially Han'er. You absolutely cannot die, or your senior brother will be devastated..."

"However, someone as shrewd as Han is unlikely to die, he..."

The woman abruptly stopped talking, because at that moment she looked up and saw Li Gan on the other side of the passage.

The woman's body trembled, and she took a step back uncontrollably. Her face changed drastically, turning deathly pale. Her peach blossom eyes widened, her pupils slowly shrinking, and her mouth slightly open. She stood there stunned.

Li Gan's gaze was fixed on the woman in green in the distance, but his eyes gradually lost focus, his gaze becoming hazy and distant, as if what he was looking at was the past.

The woman remained stunned for a while before slowly coming to her senses. She opened her mouth to speak, but found her voice dry and hoarse, barely able to utter a sound. She coughed lightly and said in a low voice, "Li Gan..."

Li Gan's gaze slowly focused, his expression softening unconsciously, a slight smile appearing at the corner of his lips. He bowed slightly, uttering her name slowly and deliberately, saying, "Liu Lingying..."

After reciting these three words, he slowly raised his head and said softly, "...Long time no see."

"What are you doing here?" Liu Lingying looked at Li Gan with complicated emotions. She carefully examined him and noticed the graying hair at his temples, the fine lines at the corners of his eyes, and the deep wrinkles between his brows, perhaps from frequent frowning. His physique was as imposing as it had been years ago, except that his back was slightly hunched, quite different from the straight back he had in his youth. Was it because the burden on his shoulders was too heavy?

Liu Lingying's eyes were slightly closed, her gaze filled with sorrow.
