"Liuli!"
Suddenly, a panicked voice came from the side, anxiously calling Liuli's name.
"Sister, it's Young Master Li," Ah Hua whispered in Liu Li's ear.
Liuli could no longer hear either Li Molin's voice or Ahua's voice. The words of Shi Chan still echoed in her ears, and all she could see in her blurry vision was Shi Chan's figure.
Because of her blurred vision from tears, his figure, though right in front of her, seemed so far away, so far that even if she spent her whole life trying to get closer to him, she could never shorten the distance between them so that she could stand opposite him and touch his face.
At this moment, a tall and imposing figure broke through the mist and arrived beside Liuli. Li Molin hurriedly grabbed Liuli's hand, and his anxious heart finally calmed down.
Upon seeing the short staff, he, Lang Yuan, and Ji Jue rushed to seize it. In the midst of the chaos, he turned around and was shocked to find that Liu Li was nowhere to be seen. He immediately abandoned his attempt to seize the staff and began searching for Liu Li.
Li Molin came to Liuli's side and looked around. His gaze lingered for a moment on the Buddhist artifact facing her, then he turned to look at her small face.
Upon seeing Liuli cry, Li Molin flew into a rage and immediately raised his skull staff to attack Shi Chan.
Just then, the thick fog around them suddenly churned violently. Li Molin paused, turned to look at the location of the short staff, and after a long while, he gave Shi Chan a cold look, reluctantly withdrew the skull staff, grabbed Liuli's hand, and flew away towards the short staff.
Shi Ning knew perfectly well that although Shi Chan said he was going to make a move, he had no intention of actually doing so; he was merely trying to stop Shi Chan from attacking Liuli. His face darkened, he sighed heavily, and flew after Li Molin.
Only Shi Chan remained, floating alone in the air, his right hand still raised high, his fingertips trembling slightly. He stared blankly at the spot where Liuli had just been, his face extremely pale, his expression overwhelmed with sorrow.
--
Liuli let Li Molin pull her to the place where the short staff was stuck diagonally. At that time, the melee of dozens of Buddhist and demonic people had just ended. Li Molin carefully discerned for a moment in the surging mist and saw that Yu Ke had snatched the short staff into his hand.
In the chaos of the battle, Yu Ke seized the short staff amidst the confusion. The spirits above the swamp immediately panicked, scattering in all directions, seemingly unable to escape the area. Their actions only further disturbed the smoke and demonic energy, causing the mist to churn and obscure the view. This chaos caused the warriors to disperse, and after a moment, realizing the situation, they rushed forward again, eager to seize the treasure from Yu Ke.
Seeing this, Li Molin shouted, "All demons, listen up! Protect Yu Ke, retreat!"
"yes!"
All the demons present responded in unison and flew to Yu Ke's side one after another, blocking the aggressive righteous disciples for him.
Shi Ning broke through the fog and arrived at the scene of the chaotic battle. After observing the situation from the air, he hurriedly joined the battle.
As Li Molin was intently watching the chaotic battle before him, he suddenly felt Liuli, whom he was holding in his right hand, begin to fall. Startled, he instinctively pulled her back up.
Li Molin turned his head quickly and saw Liuli floating in the air with him. Her face was pale, her lips were pursed, and tears were streaming down her face, but she did not make a sound. She seemed to be really sad.
Li Molin's gaze shifted to Ahua on Liuli's shoulder, and he subtly gave her a wink. Ahua understood and leaped onto Li Molin's shoulder.
"What happened?" Li Molin asked in a low voice.
Ahua turned to look at Liuli, her eyes full of worry. Then she leaned close to Li Molin's ear and whispered, "The monk Shichan said some harsh words to my sister."
Li Molin's eyes turned cold, and he frowned as he asked, "What harsh words did you say?"
Ahua hesitated for a moment, and because she was afraid that Liuli would be upset if she heard this, she lowered her voice even further and said, "That monk said that if you keep bothering him, you will not be able to become a Buddha. He also said that you are annoyed by your entanglement... He also said that he would fight with you. But in my opinion, it seems that the monk did not really want to fight. He was just trying to scare you. But you took it seriously, which is why you are so sad."
"Hmph!" Li Molin snorted coldly, his voice chilling, "I'll kill that monk sooner or later!"
Ahua turned her head with concern to look at Liuli silently weeping, and gently shook her head. Liuli was never the type to swallow her anger; usually, if she was angry or sad, she would definitely vent it loudly. She had never been like this before. Now it seemed that she was truly heartbroken.
Ahua felt that this couldn't go on. Instead of silently shedding tears, Liuli should have a good cry to vent her emotions.
Thinking this, Ah Hua said in a low voice, "Young Master, let's get out of here as soon as possible."
“Okay.” Li Molin nodded. He turned to look at the fierce battle on the ground and saw that Yu Ke was fighting and retreating under the cover of many demons. He then took Liuli’s hand and flew in the direction where Yu Ke and the other demons had retreated.
He flew over the battlefield and shouted, "Yu Ke, come with me! The rest of you cover our retreat!"
"yes!"
The demons responded loudly, working together to block all the righteous disciples, allowing Yu Ke, who was holding the short staff, to escape and rush forward with Li Molin in any direction.
Some righteous disciples relentlessly pursued them, but the fog obscured their vision, and Li Molin and Yu Ke were moving too fast, so they soon lost track of them.
Unable to discern directions in the mist, Li Molin held Liuli's hand tightly and flew forward with Yu Ke. The black and white mist swirled on their faces, bringing a cool sensation.
As Yu Ke flew forward, the ghosts he encountered along the way hurriedly tried to avoid him, but they were still sucked into the short staff in Yu Ke's hand, leaving behind only mournful ghostly cries.
