The words "I believe in you" suddenly brought back a scene from long ago to Shi Chan's chaotic mind, which was filled with nothing but killing. Ten years ago, he met her for the first time. He was still young and came out of Bodhi Temple with the great ambition of spreading the light of Buddha to the Central Plains and saving suffering beings.
That day, a gentle breeze blew through the dense forest. He couldn't help but tell her about his grand ambitions. She smiled broadly, her eyes sparkling with a gentle and genuine expression. She said three words to him: "I believe in you."
Shi Chan staggered, a brief clarity returning to his eyes. He glanced blankly at Liuli, then, trembling, he looked at the blood on his hand, tears suddenly streaming down his face. He looked up at Liuli, taking a step as if to approach her, but then quickly stopped. He looked at Liuli from afar, not daring to come closer, and choked out, "Miss, what...what have I done?"
Looking at Shi Chan's remorseful face with pity, Liu Li took two steps forward to stand in front of him, gently wiped away his tears, and said in a choked voice, "It's not your fault, little monk. This wasn't your wish, it's not your fault..."
Shi Chan shook his head painfully, filled with remorse, and said, "No, I remember killing so many people, killing so many soldiers inside the Demon Orb, and after I came out..."
He turned to look at the corpses lying haphazardly on the road in the distance, his body trembled, and his face was filled with regret and despair.
"Kill me, girl, kill me!" Shi Chan grabbed Liu Li's shoulder, his grip on her shoulder blade aching without him even realizing it. Tears streamed down his face as he looked at Liu Li, urgently saying, "I'll go mad again soon, girl, kill me quickly!"
"No, I don't want to..." Liuli almost sobbed uncontrollably, whimpering, "Little monk, you will come to your senses, you won't go crazy again, you won't..."
Suddenly, a blood-red light flashed in Shi Chan's eyes. The scene in the ancient battlefield demon pearl flashed through his mind: the torrential rain of blood, the severed limbs in the blood river, the icy killing intent and baleful aura surrounding him, as if he had been thrown into an icy river, chilling him to the bone... His body swayed, and the blood-red light in his eyes was about to obscure his original clarity and wisdom.
"Little monk!" Liuli exclaimed in surprise.
Just before he was about to succumb to madness, Shi Chan frowned and said painfully, "Girl, hurry... kill me..."
The next moment, his eyes were shrouded in a crimson hue, the bright black color like twinkling stars disappearing from view. A terrifying killing intent flashed across his face, and he released Liuli's shoulders, raising his hands high. Then, the swastika symbol on his wrist flashed, and a golden, gleaming dagger appeared in his hand, which he then slashed fiercely at Liuli.
Liuli instinctively wanted to dodge but couldn't move her feet. Looking at Shichan's appearance, she was filled with heartache and despair. She didn't know how to save him, or how he could return to his conscious state, that gentle look with a smile on his lips.
"Liuli, get out of the way!!" Li Molin's voice came from the side, sounding extremely panicked.
But Liuli ignored it completely and didn't move an inch.
Just as the dagger was about to strike Liuli's neck, it suddenly stopped, only inches away. Shichan's eyes flashed with a bloodshot light, and he murmured in anguish, "No, no..."
Perhaps the struggle was too painful, and Shi Chan was unable to bring himself to harm Liuli, yet he could not control his bloodlust. His face was full of pain, and he roared to the sky. Suddenly, he put away his monk's knife, turned around, and rushed towards the panicked crowd in the distance.
"Little monk!" Liuli immediately went to chase after Shichan.
Because he had exchanged a few words with Yu Ke, Li Molin was delayed and ended up quite far from Liu Li. He watched from afar as Liu Li was almost killed by Shi Chan, and after hurriedly reminding Liu Li, he began to run towards her even faster. Because he was running so fast, he left a trail of afterimages behind him.
Just as Liuli turned to chase after Shichan, Li Molin ran to her side and grabbed her arm. His face was anxious, and he said in a deep voice, "Liuli, you can't go after him anymore, it's too dangerous!"
Liuli turned coldly to look at Li Molin, tears still streaming down her face, her expression one of sorrow bordering on despair. Her voice was icy as she said, "Li Molin, you've ruined the little monk like this, ruined my Bailing like this! I will never forgive you! If the little monk cannot regain his senses, then I will kill him and die with him!!"
As she uttered this last sentence, Liuli's voice suddenly rose, becoming unusually sharp with anger.
Li Molin trembled, his expression changed, and a look of sorrow crossed his face as he whispered, "Liuli, for his sake, you can actually hate me to this extent?"
Liuli's face turned cold, and she remained silent. She forcefully shook off Li Molin's hand and turned to run towards Shi Chan.
The unfamiliarity and hatred on Liuli's face pierced Li Molin's heart. He had originally thought that perhaps in Liuli's heart he was no match for Shi Chan, but at least his place in her heart should be extremely important. But alas, in her heart, compared to Shi Chan, he, Li Molin, seemed to be utterly insignificant.
Li Molin's hand went limp, and Liuli easily broke free of his grip and ran away. He stood there, head bowed low, his face full of sorrow.
Liuli quickly caught up with Shichan, who was then cornering a group of people in a dead-end alleyway beside the street. The people were huddled together in the corner, looking at Shichan with fearful eyes and pleading repeatedly, sounding pitiful.
But Shi Chan looked at them coldly, without the slightest pity in his eyes.
When Liuli arrived, Shichan's body shone with golden light, and the numerous seven-treasure stones on his robe were about to detach from the robe.
"Little monk, stop!" Liuli exclaimed in shock. She leaped up and flew to Shichan, spreading her arms to block him. Her voice choked with sobs as she pleaded, "Little monk, I beg you, please don't kill anymore! I beg you, please wake up soon!"
Upon seeing Liuli, Shichan paused, a flash of bloodlust in his eyes that seemed about to vanish. But in the blink of an eye, the bloodthirsty killing intent hidden deep within him surged forth, his features contorted into a terrifying grimace, a chilling aura flashing in his eyes. Then, with a thought, the numerous Seven Treasure Stones, barely detached from his robes, hurtled toward everyone, including Liuli.
Seeing the bloodthirsty glint in Shi Chan's eyes and the blazing golden light emanating from his body, Liu Li sensed something was wrong. She gritted her teeth, took a step forward, and suddenly hugged him, ignoring his murderous intent towards her and the blood staining her clothes.
Perhaps it was the warmth of his embrace that caused Shi Chan to suddenly freeze in place, his face blank, and the crimson in his eyes began to fade slightly.
