Chapter 241 Because I Love You

“Liuli…” Li Molin said sadly in a low voice, “Don’t worry, I didn’t save you because I wanted anything from you.”

"Impossible!" Liuli said warily, "You must have some ulterior motive, otherwise why would you go to such great lengths to save me? Tell me, what exactly do you want from me?"

The more Li Molin remained silent, the more uneasy Liuli became. She couldn't believe that Li Molin would save her for no reason, especially at the cost of half of his cultivation and essence.

Li Molin slowly approached Liuli, stopping only when he was very close enough to see every expression on her face. He looked at her tenderly and said softly, "I saved you without any ulterior motives. I don't need you to do anything for me, nor do I want anything from you. I saved you because..."

He looked directly into her wary eyes, his voice gentle yet husky, and said, word by word, "Because, I love you..."

Liuli was stunned. She was completely bewildered by the word "love." What was "love"? How much of an effect could this single word "love" have? She had no idea.

Li Molin knelt down in front of Liuli. Just as Liuli was in a daze, he tentatively reached out and gently touched her face.

Liuli's wide-open eyes gradually came back to their senses, but she was still completely bewildered. She stared blankly at his face so close to hers, ignoring his proximity and his hand.

Li Molin gently placed his hand on her face, and a warmth immediately spread from his palm to her heart. Li Molin's smile was exceptionally gentle. At this moment, his face was only a foot away from Liuli's small face, and he could even feel her warm breath touching his face, which was exceptionally warm.

"Liuli." Li Molin's voice was soft as he smiled, "You've just woken up, and you may not know what love is yet. But one day I will make you understand. You will understand what 'I love you' means. You will understand that because I love you, I cannot bear the thought of not having you by my side. Because I love you, if you were to leave this world before me, I would be in unbearable pain, a living hell."

Liuli remained silent, her face still full of confusion.

Li Molin's gaze shifted to Liuli's slightly parted lips. As if possessed, he slowly moved closer to her face, wanting to gently kiss her lips and taste how sweet they would be.

Gradually, just as their lips were about to touch, Liuli suddenly turned her head away.

Li Molin paused for a moment, then gently kissed her cheek. He rested his chin on her shoulder and whispered in her ear in an unusually soft voice, "Liuli, when you know what 'love' is, I will marry you, okay?"

Liuli tilted her head and let him lean on her shoulder. She didn't know why, but her heart was in a panic and her mind was in a mess. Her memories were so tangled that they took her back to the man-eating demon palace many years ago. She remembered that she had forced a monk named Shichan to eat a pill that he refused to take.

I vaguely remember his appearance—eyes wide open, cheeks flushed. I vaguely remember the warmth of his lips, just like when I was little, falling into a small river covered with a thin layer of ice on a cold winter's day while playing, and my grandmother rescued me and gave me the first sip of warm water. It warmed me to the bone.

In the blink of an eye, all the memories flashed by, leaving no trace on Liuli's cold heart. When she came to her senses, she felt an intense aversion to Li Molin's closeness to her. She abruptly pushed Li Molin away and said indifferently, "Get away from me."

Li Molin stepped back, his eyes filled with hurt.

He was silent for a moment, then stood up and said, "Alright, Liuli, you've never been to the Demon Realm before, have you? Let's go, I'll take you there, and then we'll go home."

As the young master of the Demon Clan, Li Molin held a noble status. He left behind a "Demon Grid" in the Demon Realm, which would change if he encountered danger, was seriously injured, or died outside. Now that he had suddenly lost half of his cultivation and essence, Li Gan would surely notice, and he had no choice but to return to the Demon Realm for the time being.

"No." Liuli shook her head and said coldly, "I'm not going to the Demon Realm. I'm going to find Monk Shichan. I must kill him to quell the hatred in my heart!"

Li Molin paused for a moment, then turned to look at Yu Ke, giving him a questioning look.

Yu Ke shook his head and said in a low voice, "We are incompetent. Not long after the young master left, the monk was suddenly protected by a golden ball of light, and none of us could open it."

Li Molin nodded, turned to look at Liuli, and said gently, "Alright, Liuli, I'll take you to find that monk, and I'll help you kill him."

After a moment's thought, Liuli said, "Okay."

“Sister…” Lingxi quietly ran to Liuli’s feet, her eyes still filled with tears, and said in a choked voice, “Sister, it’s so good that you’re alright.”

Liuli glanced at her, her expression indifferent.

Lingxi was stunned for a moment, a wave of sadness washing over her. She knew that what Yu Ke said was probably true. Although Liuli had been saved, the Liuli before her was no longer the sister who loved and cared for her.

Liuli stood up, glancing down at the bloodstains on her clothes, her eyes turning cold. With a thought, spiritual energy coiled around her, instantly transforming into a set of clothes, but these clothes were black. Liuli tilted her head, startled.

What she didn't know was that, because she had been revived by the soul-summoning ritual, the fox spirit energy within her body had now been tainted by demonic energy and transformed into another kind of spiritual power.
