Chapter 248 Lotus Terrace

Time passed slowly, the sun moved quietly in the sky, and it was already late afternoon.

At that moment, the gentle sunlight shone on the Qinghu Lake, reflecting a shimmering light. Liuli, who was watching the battle, noticed out of the corner of her eye that the light on the lake seemed a bit too bright. She subconsciously looked over and saw that the lake had suddenly become bright with golden light.

A dazzling golden light emanated from the vast Qinghu Lake, spreading out to a height of about ten feet and creating a misty golden haze over the lake.

At the very center of Qinghu Lake, the golden light shone even brighter. In that golden light, one could vaguely see a lotus platform with petals spread out, about ten feet square. The petals around the lotus platform were nine colors: red, orange, yellow, green, cyan, blue, purple, white, and gold. The colorful petals were beautiful and vivid, just like a real lotus flower.

As early as when the golden light shone on the lake, the Buddhist, demonic, and Taoist forces on the lakeside stopped fighting. At that time, all three sides had suffered more than half their losses, with only forty or fifty people remaining each. Now, most of these one hundred and fifty-odd people had gathered with their teammates and were all looking towards the center of the lake.

"A rare treasure has appeared!" Liuli smiled arrogantly, and with a swift movement, she flew over.

"Let's go!" Ge Yiyuan shouted with a smile, and he and Yu Xin followed closely behind Liuli.

Liuli was incredibly fast. By the time the Buddhist, demonic, and Taoist groups on the lakeside reacted and flew towards the center of the lake, she had already passed overhead like a shooting star.

Who is that?

Who is it?

"..."

Many of the people by the lake felt a black light flash overhead. They looked up and were very puzzled.

As the lotus platform in the center of the lake drew closer, the smile on Liuli's lips deepened.

Finally, Liuli crashed into the golden light surrounding the lotus platform. She successfully entered the golden light, but her body slowed down instantly as if she had bumped into a soft net.

As she went from extremely fast to extremely slow, Liuli felt very uncomfortable. She frowned and, although her movements were slow, she still moved towards the lotus platform little by little.

The golden light surrounding the entire lotus platform was about two miles in size. As soon as Liuli entered the golden light, her speed slowed down. So, the people from both the righteous and demonic sides behind her also flew into the golden light one after another. But like Liuli, their speed also slowed down as soon as they entered the golden light, and they slowly moved towards the center.

At that time, Liuli was closest to the lotus platform, about a hundred feet away, while Ge Yiyuan and Yu Xin were about ten feet away. The remaining people from both the righteous and demonic factions were even further away, with those in front having only just entered the golden light.

However, just as everyone was slowly moving towards the lotus platform, a tall, thin monk did not slow down. His body was radiant with golden light. Perhaps because his seven-jeweled kasaya was also an ancient Buddhist artifact, he was completely unaffected by the golden light emanating from the lotus platform.

With his hands clasped together, Shi Chan flew toward the lotus platform. He turned his head and looked at the group of people who had slowed down, paused and pondered for a moment, then looked at the slender black figure in the lead. A look of realization suddenly appeared on his face.

That slender figure was all too familiar, overlapping with a white shadow deep in my mind, exactly the same.

Shi Chan paused for a long while, then shook his head and gave a self-deprecating smile. How could it be her? She was long gone. In this lifetime, in this world, he would never see her again.

The dark figure was shrouded in demonic energy, clearly a member of the demon race, while the lotus platform in the center of the lake shone brightly with Buddhist light, undoubtedly a Buddhist treasure. Shi Chan realized that Buddhist treasures absolutely could not fall into the hands of demons, and since he seemed unaffected by the golden light, he immediately flew towards the lotus platform.

Everyone in the golden light moved extremely slowly, except for Shi Chan, whose speed was extremely fast. So when viewed from a distance, his figure flying forward at high speed looked unusually out of place in the golden light.

Shi Chan quickly flew to the dark figure at the forefront. Because this figure was so similar to the one most vividly remembered, Shi Chan subconsciously turned his head to take a look. With just that one glance, Shi Chan's body trembled, and his expression changed drastically.

Liuli sensed that someone was catching up with her. She turned her head coldly and saw Shichan.

"Miss Liuli?!" After a brief moment of stunned silence, Shi Chan exclaimed in surprise.

"Hmph!" Liuli snorted coldly. With the rare treasure before her, she decided to temporarily set aside her deep-seated hatred for Shichan and seize the treasure first. So she forcefully gathered all her magical power and increased her speed.

"Girl, is it really you?" As Shi Chan flew forward with Liu Li, he turned his head and stared intently at Liu Li's small face. His expression was extremely astonished and incredulous, with a hint of confusion and bewilderment in his eyes. At this moment, he even wondered if this golden light was an illusion, otherwise how could she appear in front of him?

However, although the appearance of the Liuli in front of me was exactly the same as in my memory, the expression on her face was too unfamiliar, and the cold and gloomy aura around her should not be something that someone as kind and innocent as her should be exuding.

Liuli gave Shichan a cold look but did not reply.

After waiting for a while without Liuli responding, Shi Chan felt a sense of bewilderment and shook his head with a laugh, saying, "How could it be Miss Liuli? How could it be?"

Perhaps it was because his longing for Liuli had grown stronger day by day over the past twenty years, or perhaps it was because he had dreamed of Liuli so many times, that he was able to see her in this golden light.

Shi Chan looked at Liuli with exceptionally gentle eyes and said with a smile, "Even if this is an illusion, you look so real... I am very happy to meet you here."
