Seeing Shi Chan's unsteady steps and his preoccupation with expelling the poison, Li Molin's gaze turned cold. He clenched his fist, and the skull staff appeared in his hand. He then gripped the staff tightly and swiftly charged towards Shi Chan. A black, sharp light emanated from the tip of the skull staff, aiming straight for Shi Chan's brow.
Seeing that Li Molin had made his move and was likely to hit the target with a single blow, Yu Xin and the other two, along with the demon, stopped.
The tip of Li Molin's skull staff drew ever closer to Shi Chan's brow, while Shi Chan, staggering due to the poisoning, blinked wildly, his eyes widening in apparent agony. He clearly hadn't noticed the skull staff and made no attempt to dodge it.
Upon seeing this scene, Liuli's heart suddenly tightened for some reason, and her breathing became difficult. She opened her eyes wide and instinctively opened her mouth to stop Li Molin. However, she quickly realized what was happening and stopped herself.
Over the years, her hatred for Shi Chan had been brewing in her heart, eventually taking over Liuli's entire heart. During her time in the Demon Realm, she constantly thought about killing Shi Chan with her own hands and turning him to dust! But at this moment, as Shi Chan was about to die in front of her, she felt no sense of satisfaction, but rather a burning pain in her heart.
The pain was so intense, burning Liuli's heart, that she frowned deeply and clenched her fists so tightly that she didn't even notice her nails digging into her flesh.
Soon, the tip of the skull staff was about to pierce between Shi Chan's eyebrows. Shi Chan had only just reacted when he was shocked and instinctively tried to escape, but it was too late.
At that moment, Liuli could no longer bear the anxiety in her heart. She spoke out uncontrollably, shouting sharply, "Stop!"
Upon hearing this voice, Li Molin paused slightly, but his gaze turned cold, and he did not stop there.
Liu Li frowned, her voice shrill, and she roared, "Stop! Li Molin, stop!"
Li Molin's face darkened. He stopped when the tip of the skull staff was only inches away from Shi Chan's brow. He stared coldly at Shi Chan and angrily withdrew his hand.
Li Molin turned to look at Liuli and said in a deep voice, "Liuli, even now, you still can't bear to see him die?"
Liuli gasped for breath, the anxiety in her heart slowly dissipating, and she realized what she had done. Her hands instantly loosened, gently resting on her knees. Her palms, pricked by her fingernails, mingled with cold sweat and blood, turning a pale red. She couldn't explain why she had shouted at Li Molin to stop. She didn't know where the anxiety in her heart came from when Shi Chan was about to die before her eyes, but she felt extreme resentment towards that subconscious act of compassion.
Liuli lowered her head and remained silent for a long time. Her expression turned cold, and her eyes became icy. Then she raised her head and said through gritted teeth, "I hate him to the bone. How could I not bear to see him die? But I don't want him to die so easily and let him off easy! I want to torture him to death. I want to drive him mad and then throw him into the Bodhi Temple so that I can watch his most respected fellow disciples kill him!"
It seems that only this reason can explain her actions.
“Oh, right.” Liuli stared at Shichan, a wicked smile spreading across her lips, and said, “You were expelled from Bodhi Temple a long time ago. I wonder if your former fellow disciples in Bodhi Temple will still bother to save you after seeing you go crazy.”
Shi Chan had initially felt a glimmer of hope because Liu Li had stopped Li Mo Lin, making him believe that Liu Li was still the same Liu Li he knew. However, a moment later, Liu Li's cold words plunged his heart back into despair.
Liu Li gave a cold laugh and said in a chilling voice, "Ge Yiyuan, grab that monk and come with me!"
Having said that, she urged the lotus platform she sat on to fly into the sky and began to fly forward at her usual speed.
Ge Yiyuan responded. At that moment, Shi Chan was weak because the poison had not yet dissipated from his body. He did not resist and allowed Ge Yiyuan to use a ball of demonic energy to form a rope to bind him, which Ge Yiyuan then used to lift him into the air. Yu Xin then flew up and went with Ge Yiyuan to chase after Liuli.
Li Molin glanced at Yu Ke and the others, and sighed softly, "Let's go."
So Li Molin took off first, followed closely by Yu Ke and Ji Jue. Lang Yuan waved to Lingxi, who jumped onto his shoulder, and then he caught up and flew at the very back.
--
This is a temple built on a small hill. The temple has two courtyards, the front courtyard is the main hall for worshipping Buddha, and the back courtyard has several meditation rooms, which are where the monks of the temple rest.
After leaving the Jing River, Liu Li and Li Molin found a place nearby. Yu Xin, Yu Ke, and the others drove all the monks out of the temple and occupied the entire temple.
Inside the main hall of the temple.
Liu Li and Li Molin, along with three other demons and five others, stood in the hall. Shi Chan was still bound by a black rope around his upper body. After Ge Yiyuan released him, he knelt directly on the prayer mat in front of the Buddha statue, closed his eyes and chanted Buddhist scriptures. His expression was calm and he showed no fear whatsoever.
It was already night, and several red candles were lit in the hall. The flickering candlelight shone on the six people and the three demons, casting shadows all over the hall.
Liuli stared silently at Shichan, her eyes filled with complex and conflicting emotions, her heart filled with hesitation.
She didn't know how to deal with Shi Chan. Even though she spoke harshly, deep down in her heart, there was a hidden emotion that she couldn't even perceive herself. That emotion made it impossible for her to lay a hand on him or hurt him in the slightest.
After a long silence, Liuli turned around and said in a deep voice, "It's getting late. I'll deal with this monk tomorrow. Ge Yiyuan, Yu Xin, you two take turns watching him. If he escapes, I won't let you off the hook!"
