A moment later, Shi Chan's expression hardened. He lightly touched the ground with his toes and soared into the air, hovering above the meditation halls. Looking down, the horrific scene became clearer. Many monks were writhing in agony. Some tried desperately to regain their senses, attempting to escape but failing miserably. They were all caught by Liu Li and Li Molin and brutally murdered.
The blood-red light was so blinding that Shi Chan's eyes stung, and he almost shed tears. He was not only saddened by the tragic deaths of the Bodhi Temple disciples, but even more distressed by Liuli's bloodthirsty and ruthless appearance.
He tilted his head back and held back his tears. With a thought, the seven-jeweled kasaya on his body suddenly shone brightly with golden light, illuminating the entire Pure Land Mountain in an instant.
Shi Chan sat cross-legged and floated in the air, his figure solemn and dignified. He clasped his hands together and shouted, "All disciples of Bodhi Temple, listen up! What you have been afflicted with is the Demon Ant Gu. Although this Gu is poisonous, it is not very toxic, and it is the weakest of all the types of Demon Gu. As long as you can calm your minds, you will surely be able to expel the ant Gu from your bodies!"
He repeated it several times in a row. Upon hearing this, many disciples on the ground who were in pain felt reassured. They sat down cross-legged one after another, putting aside everything around them and trying to calm their minds, focusing all their attention on the ant worms in their bodies.
Shi Chan closed his eyes and began to loudly recite various scriptures in a solemn voice.
Seeing this, Liuli flew into a rage. She paused her attack and shouted, "Ge Yiyuan, Yu Xin, go and kill Monk Shichan first!"
Ge Yiyuan and Yu Xin responded and flew into the air one after the other, raising their weapons to attack Shi Chan. However, under the radiance of the Seven Treasures Kasaya, they couldn't hit Shi Chan at all.
At that moment, tiny wounds appeared all over Shi Ning's body, and with the blood flowing out, he used his Buddhist power to kill the demonic ant gu and force them out of his body.
He exhaled softly, looked up, and saw a brilliant golden light shining overhead, with Shi Chan sitting cross-legged in the golden light, his appearance solemn and dignified. At that moment, Shi Ning had a strange feeling that Shi Chan in the golden light looked exactly like a Buddha.
Soon, Shi Ning withdrew his gaze. He turned his head and saw the blood and corpses scattered on the ground under the golden light overhead—a horrifying sight. His eyes twitched slightly, and his heart ached terribly.
He then turned his gaze away and saw that some of the temple's elders, who were of high cultivation, had forced all the ant-gu out of their bodies and opened their eyes one after another.
Shi Ning was overjoyed. He raised his voice and said, "I ask the elders to join me in resisting the evil fox and those demons, so that my disciples can calmly expel the poison with the help of my junior brother Shi Chan!"
"Alright." The elders actually shared the same sentiment, and they responded in unison, joining Shi Ning in welcoming Liu Li and Li Molin.
At that time, the three demons and the three people other than Yu Xin and Ge Yiyuan had already gathered together. Li Molin turned his head and looked around. He saw that all the monks had sat down cross-legged and were chanting the same scriptures that Shi Chan was chanting loudly in the sky.
Li Molin turned his gaze to Liuli and said in a deep voice, "Liuli, let's retreat."
Liuli was well aware of the current situation. Once the most chaotic period passed and the monks calmed down, they would surely be able to expel the ant worms from their bodies, making it difficult for them to leave. But she was unwilling to give up. She had paid the price of ten thousand demonic ant worms, and had only managed to kill half of the disciples in Bodhi Temple.
Liuli was furious, her gaze towards Shichan in the sky filled with rage. She remained silent for a moment, then looked down and saw Shi Ning and the others charging menacingly towards her. Her eyes turned cold, and she said in a chilling voice, "You can retreat, but before you do, kill Monk Shichan!"
Having said that, she quickly flew up and arrived beside Shi Chan, gripping the Winged Spirit Whip in her hand and lashing it out at him. The Winged Spirit Whip struck the golden light emanating from the Seven Treasures Kasaya fiercely, but the golden light only flickered and showed no sign of dissipating.
Yu Xin shook her head, annoyed, and said, "It's no use, miss, the tortoise shell on this monk's body is too hard, we can't break it!"
By then, some monks had already expelled all the ant-like insects from their bodies and quickly recovered some of their strength. Under Shi Ning's command, these people took to the air one after another to prepare to besiege Liuli and the others.
As Liuli, Li Molin, and the other three demons and five others surrounded Shi Chan and attacked him with various methods, the golden light around Shi Chan only flickered continuously, but there was no sign of it being broken through.
Helpless, Liuli could only say resentfully, "Let's go!" as the monks were about to surround her.
Li Molin also greeted Yu Ke and the others, saying, "Let's all leave!"
Yu Xin and the other two, along with Yu Ke and the other two demons, all responded and flew away one after another. Li Molin stayed behind. He turned to look at Liuli and said to her, whose face was full of resentment, "Liuli, let's go!"
Liuli glared angrily at Shichan in the golden light and said hatefully, "Shichan, you have hindered my revenge today. With both old and new grudges combined, I, Liuli, will settle accounts with you one day!"
Shi Chan's tightly closed eyes trembled, and he slowly opened them, seeing Liu Li's resentful face.
Immediately afterwards, Liuli and Li Molin turned around and flew away together.
Shi Chan stopped reciting the scriptures and murmured, "Miss, I'm sorry."
He then closed his eyes again and continued to chant various scriptures in unison with the many monks on the ground, his voice solemn.
Shi Ning did not lead anyone to chase after Liu Li and the others. Instead, he dispersed and joined the monks who had already dispelled the ant poison to help the disciples who were still suffering from the poison to dispel the ant poison. He also busied himself extinguishing the demonic fires around the meditation room.
