Chapter 280 The Storyteller

Liuli listened silently in the hall for a while, and Liang Yihan stood silently behind her, waiting patiently.

A moment later, Liuli called out, "Ge Yiyuan, come here!"

As soon as Liuli spoke, the storyteller paused and looked up. Yu Xin and the other two demons also turned to look. When they saw Liang Yihan, Lingxi's front paws trembled involuntarily, but she quickly looked away, curled up in a ball, and covered her head with her two front paws.

Ge Yiyuan quickly realized what was happening and ran happily towards Liuli, asking as he ran, "Did you look for me, young lady? Is there something you need?"

Liu Li waited quietly for Ge Yiyuan to run over, then handed him the medicine bottle in her right hand and said calmly, "Here, take a sniff."

Ge Yiyuan frowned and asked in confusion, "What is this, young lady?"

Liuli didn't explain, but her voice deepened as she repeated, "Smell it."

“…Oh.” Ge Yiyuan dared not ask any more questions. Hesitantly, he took the medicine bottle from Liuli’s hand, uncorked it, and brought the bottle to his nose to sniff it, but there was no smell at all.

Ge Yiyuan grew increasingly puzzled. He capped the medicine bottle and handed it to Liuli, asking in confusion, "Miss, it smells..."

Halfway through his sentence, Ge Yiyuan suddenly felt a wave of weakness wash over him, and he was horrified to discover that his spiritual energy was rapidly draining away.

Ge Yiyuan's face turned ashen. He staggered backward a few steps, nearly falling, but managed to steady himself. With a pained expression, he said, "Miss, is this poison? What did I do wrong..."

Liuli handed him the pill from her left hand and said calmly, "Eat it."

Ge Yiyuan didn't dare to ask any more questions and hurriedly took the pill and put it in his mouth.

The pill melted instantly in his mouth, with a pleasant aroma. After swallowing it, Ge Yiyuan felt his strength gradually returning, and his spiritual energy stopped draining away. Everything was back to normal, and Ge Yiyuan's complexion improved somewhat, though he still looked at Liuli with a pained and aggrieved expression.

"How are you feeling?" Liuli stared at Ge Yiyuan's face and asked in a deep voice.

"You want me to test the poison, young lady?" Ge Yiyuan finally realized, his face scrunched up. Although he felt wronged, he still honestly said, "After inhaling the poisonous gas, I felt weak all over and lost my spiritual energy. I'll feel better after taking the pills you gave me."

Liuli pressed further, "Do you have any other discomfort right now?"

After carefully sensing for a while, Ge Yiyuan replied, "No, it's just that the lost spiritual energy hasn't been replenished yet, and my body feels a little weak. I don't feel anything else."

"Okay." Liuli replied, her expression unchanged. She turned to Liang Yihan and said, "Thank you very much, Young Master Liang, for bringing the medicine. I, Liuli, am truly grateful!"

Liang Yihan took out a bottle that looked exactly like the one containing the poison gas and handed it to Liuli, saying, "This is another bottle of Thousand Poison Powder."

Liuli reached out and took it, saying calmly, "Thank you."

Liang Yihan then took out the medicine bottle from which the antidote had been poured and handed it to Liuli, saying, "There are twenty-one antidotes in here, enough for you, Miss."

Liuli took the medicine bottles and put them into her storage ring along with the two medicine bottles from before, saying, "Thank you."

"You're too kind, young lady." Liang Yihan smiled broadly. With a flick of his right hand, a crane the size of an infant's fist formed from the tip of his finger, fluttering towards Liuli. He said with a smile, "If you've laid your ambush, you can simply use this crane to send me a message."

Liuli's hand brushed past Feihe, and the storage ring on her finger flashed, storing Feihe inside. She nodded and replied, "Okay."

Liang Yihan's gaze inadvertently swept across the wooden table in the distance, glancing at Lingxi, who was curled up in a ball, his expression complex. Soon, he turned his gaze to Liuli, bowed, and said, "In that case, I shall take my leave."

Liuli bowed slightly and said softly, "Farewell."

As Liang Yihan turned around, he glanced at Lingxi one last time, then slowly walked out of the restaurant. He soon left and flew away from outside.

Liuli stood there for a while, then her storage ring flashed, and three medicine bottles appeared in front of Ge Yiyuan. She said indifferently, "Ge Yiyuan, take these three medicine bottles back to the Demon Realm and have the Poison Elder take a look at these medicines to see if there is anything unusual about them."

"Yes," Ge Yiyuan replied, holding the three medicine bottles in both hands. He asked in confusion, "Miss, why did Liang Yihan give you this poison?"

"Go then." Liuli didn't answer him, but said calmly, and slowly walked towards the table where Yu Xin and Lang Yuan were sitting.

"Alright, I'll be going then, young lady." Ge Yiyuan looked at Liuli's retreating figure with a questioning gaze, put away the three medicine bottles, said goodbye to Liuli, and turned to leave in a hurry.

Liuli quickly walked to the chair where Ge Yiyuan had been sitting and sat down. She looked up at the storyteller at the opposite table and said indifferently, "Continue."

"Huh?" The storyteller was stunned for a moment, unable to react for a moment.

"Does the young lady want to listen to a story?" Yu Xin said cheerfully, turning to the storyteller and calling out, "Continue your story, and if you please the young lady, you'll be richly rewarded!"

"Good...good." The storyteller picked up his gavel and slammed it heavily on the table. He cleared his throat and resumed his vivid storytelling. He told the story exceptionally well, using only words to unfold a richly colored picture before Liuli's eyes, making her feel as if she were there herself.

Even though Liuli had indeed heard the story, her vision remained blurry. What she was thinking about wasn't the storyteller's tale, but rather a distant memory. A dialogue clearly echoed in her ears:

"...The storyteller's story was really interesting. How could he be so amazing? He could tell such vivid stories with just his mouth. It felt like I was watching him from the sidelines!"

"Storytellers hone this skill from a young age. If you like it, young lady, we can listen to a storyteller whenever we meet him again."

"Right, you also think it's a pity, don't you, little monk?" "You kept urging me to hurry up, and we only listened to a short part of the story. Why were you in such a hurry? We could have listened to the whole story and rested in Yincheng later."

"..."

Liuli lowered her eyes, her gaze filled with bewilderment.

It seemed they had agreed that if they met another storyteller, they would listen to a story together. Unfortunately, they never met another storyteller together.
