Lang Yuan watched helplessly as Ling Xi was captured. His expression changed drastically, and he roared angrily, "If you dare to use Ling Xi's inner core in medicine, then as long as I, Lang Yuan, live, I swear to slaughter your entire Yuan Dao Sect!"
Liu Lingying paused for a moment, glanced at Lang Yuan in silence, and left without saying a word.
Wolf Source was tightly bound by several ropes. He struggled to stand up but could not. He was so angry that his face turned red and his eyes were about to burst.
"Uncle Ying..." Liu Lingying, holding the screaming Lingxi, walked past Liang Yihan. He stepped forward and called out softly.
Liu Lingying turned her head and glanced at Liang Yihan, then walked straight past him and out through the wide-open stone gate.
With a loud bang, the stone door slammed shut after Liu Lingying left. The heavy sound reached Liang Yihan's ears, making his face even paler and his body tremble slightly.
He stared at the tightly closed stone door, his face pale and weak, his eyes wide open, standing there blankly for a long time without making any move.
The one who was taken away was his Ahua, his best playmate when he was a child, his friend with whom he could talk about anything... She used to depend on him so much, and he liked her so much.
How could he watch her be killed? How could he use her death to pave the way for his ascension to the position of sect leader? If she died, even if he became the sect leader of Yuandao Sect, even if he controlled the entire righteous path of the Central Plains, even if he gained power over the entire world… what would be the point?
When did it begin that his feelings for her went beyond simply being his Ah Hua? Perhaps it started many years ago on that bitterly cold winter day when she suddenly appeared out of nowhere, a languid little girl appearing before him as Ah Hua, her appearance matching all his childhood fantasies.
When they were both little, he had fantasized countless times about what his Ah Hua would look like if she became a human. He thought she would be very cute, with a round face and round eyes. When he was little, he wished so much that she could become human, so that she could smile at him and talk to him.
So, when this little girl appeared before him under the name Ahua, he instantly fell in love with her.
During the twenty years that Liuli and the others returned to the Demon Realm to live in seclusion, he never saw her again. It was from that time on that the little girl who fell from the sky on a cold winter day often appeared in his dreams.
In his dream, all he wanted was to hold her, protect her, and shield her from all the malice of the world...
Lost in thought, Liang Yihan strode toward the stone gate, opened it with a hand seal, and rushed out.
The night at Yuandao Sect was silent. Liang Yihan walked towards the alchemy room, but his initial impulse was gradually suppressed by the cold night wind. His hurried steps slowed down, and he lowered his head, his brows furrowed, thinking about how to release Lingxi without affecting his impression of Liang Yihan in the eyes of his teachers, or his chances of taking over as sect leader.
There will definitely be a way, there definitely will be...
He walked slowly forward, the words echoing in his mind.
In the blink of an eye, the alchemy room was already in sight.
At that time, the alchemy room was brightly lit, and the dim candlelight shone through the window, casting shadows of window frames on the ground outside.
Liang Yihan stopped in front of the alchemy room, looking at the two half-closed doors with a hesitant expression.
One is Ahua, whom he cherishes and loves most in his heart; the other is supreme power and status. How should he choose?
Liang Yihan hesitated for a long time, unable to make up his mind. The candlelight shining from the alchemy room cast his shadow obliquely on the flat brick floor, making him look particularly lonely and desolate.
After a long while, Liang Yihan moved, stepped up the steps to the door, opened the half-closed door and entered the alchemy room.
Inside the spacious alchemy room, a dozen red candles were lit, and wisps of blue smoke rose from the alchemy furnace in the center of the room, while the Samadhi True Fire burned brightly beneath it.
He quickly spotted Lingxi in a corner of the main hall. Her body was still tightly bound by a cloud of green energy. She was half-lying on the ground with her two front paws outstretched and her chin resting on them. Her large eyes were drooping down to just slits, and she looked utterly despairing.
Liang Yihan's gaze lingered on Lingxi for a moment, filled with pity. Then he turned his gaze to Liu Lingying, who was rummaging through the bookshelves on the other side of the hall. At that moment, Liu Lingying also turned around after hearing the commotion. When she saw him, Liu Lingying frowned and said, "Han'er, you still haven't thought it through?"
Lingxi looked up at Liang Yihan, and a glimmer of light quietly appeared in her gray eyes, which had been filled with despair.
Liang Yihan smiled awkwardly. He lowered his eyes and pondered for a moment before saying, "This disciple came... to see if my master needs any help."
Lingxi's eyelashes trembled, and a look of disappointment appeared in her eyes. She slowly closed her eyes, and a tear seeped out from the corner of her eye and quietly flowed down.
"No need, you should go and rest," Liu Lingying replied, and resumed searching through the bookshelves full of books.
Liang Yihan was unwilling to leave. He paused for a moment and asked, "What is Uncle looking for?"
As Liu Lingying carefully searched, she casually replied, "I'm looking for the book that records the recipe for the Rejuvenation Pill. I need to gather the necessary ingredients as soon as possible... I don't know if the medicinal herbs on the mountain are complete. If not, I'll have to go to other mountain gates to look for them..."
"Uncle-Master..." Upon hearing this, Liang Yihan felt a surge of anxiety. He took a step forward, about to say something impulsively, but then stopped abruptly.
