Liu Li noticed the change in Li Molin's aura, turned her head to look at him, and then followed his gaze to see the fight between Li Gan and Liu Lingying. The two were fighting fiercely, and because their cultivation levels were both extremely high, the spiritual energy around them surged during the fight, forcing the demons and Yuandao Sect disciples who were fighting in the melee to stay far away.
Liuli hesitated for a moment, then called out softly, "Li Molin."
"Hmm?" Li Molin turned to look at Liuli, asking in confusion, "What's wrong, Liuli?"
Liuli was still looking in the direction of Ligan and Liu Lingying, and said in a low voice, "Don't be sad. I think your father and mother didn't go all out; they held back."
Li Molin was stunned for a moment, then smiled happily and said, "Liuli, are you worried about me?"
Liuli frowned, a look of confusion flashing across her eyes. She tilted her head, wondering, "Yes, why should I comfort him? Since when did I become so nosy?" It seemed to have been after returning from the Bodhi Grove by Prajna Lake.
Liuli was still confused when Li Molin turned around and hugged her excitedly. He rested his chin on her head and smelled her lovely hair.
A genuine smile of joy played on Li Molin's lips as he said gently, "Liuli, I'm very happy."
Liuli could sense his happiness, just as she could sense his sadness when she was indifferent to him during the twenty years since her rebirth. She just couldn't understand why a single sentence from her could make him so happy, like... like a child who had received his favorite toy.
Li Molin knew that Liuli, after her rebirth, did not like to be close to people. Although he was reluctant, he quickly let her go. Then he looked in the direction of Li Gan and Liu Lingying, and most of the sorrow and helplessness in his heart had already dissipated.
Liuli, however, still tilted her head, her face full of confusion.
Unbeknownst to her, in the Bodhi Forest, the struggle for the prayer wheel caused her to fall into a maze of memories. She saw all her past memories, including her former self, the carefree smile on the white-robed, glass-like face, and her clear, innocent eyes. She also saw the monk Jiawu, Bailing, and the entire process of Bailing being taken to the Bodhi Temple, growing up, becoming Shichan, and reuniting with her.
Seeing so much has finally awakened many beautiful emotions in Liuli's heart, but she is currently unaware of them and unwilling to admit them.
That's why she subconsciously stopped Shi Chan from going to his death, and subconsciously comforted Li Molin so that he wouldn't be too heartbroken.
Liuli frowned in confusion for a long time, then turned to look at Li Molin and gently shook her head.
Li Molin was overjoyed, but the Yuan Dao Sect disciples in the midst of the chaotic battle were filled with despair. Upon witnessing the sheer number of demons and their extremely high cultivation levels, the Yuan Dao Sect disciples had already lost their morale. Forced to withstand the demons' onslaught, they desperately hoped for reinforcements to arrive. However, far too many were killed before reinforcements arrived, their corpses falling lifelessly to the ground, the blood flowing so profusely that it quickly stained the verdant mountains red.
The pitiful cries reached her ears, disturbing Liu Lingying's mind. The grief and indignation of being powerless to save the Yuandao Sect disciples, the hatred and helplessness towards Li Gan's cruelty and bloodlust, and the deep love for Li Gan that she could not control no matter what brought her to the brink of collapse.
Why can't he try to change? He keeps saying he loves her the most and only her, but why won't he give up his cruel practice of using living people as blood sources for her sake? Now, he has done something so heartless, he actually wants to massacre the Yuandao Sect! Doesn't he know how much heartache and sadness this will cause her?
It wasn't just the disciples of the Yuandao Sect that made her sad; what pained her even more was that after so many years, he had not only not changed in the slightest in his desire to do good, but had become even more cruel, more bloodthirsty, and more inhumane!
Liu Lingying's eyes were red, and her expression was extremely sad, angry, and helpless. Finally, the Yuandao Sect disciple who was closest to her and Li Gan was surrounded and killed by a group of demons. The scream made her lose her focus, and her silver flying sword paused for a moment.
In a battle between masters, a single moment can be fatal.
