A chilling smile slowly spread across Liu Lingying's lips. She wiped away her tears and looked at Li Gan, saying each word clearly, "Li Gan, if you want to conquer the Central Plains, then step over my dead body! Today, my Yuandao Sect is willing to fight to the death with you demons. Even if all the disciples of the sect are wiped out, even if the sect's lineage is extinguished, it will still be a contribution from my Yuandao Sect to the people of the Central Plains!"
The sharp tip of the black spear trembled violently a few times. Li Gan looked at Liu Lingying sadly and said in a low voice, "What if I beg you? I beg you to come with me, okay?"
Liu Lingying smiled sadly and said, "As long as you are willing to give up the idea of dominating the Central Plains, as long as you are willing to give up your supreme position as the Demon Lord, I will go with you and we will go into seclusion. From now on, the world's affairs will have nothing to do with you and me."
"Ying'er!" Li Gan's voice held a hint of helpless anger as he said in a deep voice, "Why can't you understand me?!"
“Look…” Liu Lingying said with a bitter smile, “You still refuse.”
Their conversation reached a stalemate, just like years ago in the Demon Realm, where their daily arguments yielded no results. She could not tolerate his cruelty, and he blamed her for not trusting and understanding him without reason.
The only thing they had in common was that they still loved each other deeply, and they were equally helpless.
Suddenly, in the brief moment when Li Gan was distracted, Liu Lingying gritted her teeth, hardened her heart, and with a sudden swing of her right hand forming a sword gesture, the silver flying sword that had been hovering beside her moved abruptly and swiftly pierced towards Li Gan's heart.
Li Gan quickly realized what was happening, but he suppressed his instinctive dodge and let the flying sword pierce through his heart without flinching.
Liu Lingying felt a pang of unease, her face turning ashen. With a flick of her right hand, she drew her sword, and the silver flying sword abruptly stopped just inches from Li Gan's left chest. Then, with a wave of her hand, the flying sword flew back swiftly.
The flying sword arrived and departed so quickly that a gust of wind ruffled Li Gan's hair. He looked down at the sword's arrival and rapid departure, a gentle smile playing on his lips.
Just then, rays of various colors flew in from all directions, and the righteous sects that had seen the Yuandao Sect's distress signal finally sent their disciples to help. By this time, more than half of the Yuandao Sect's disciples had been killed or wounded.
Li Molin and Liuli turned their heads and looked around. They saw that the various sword lights flying from all directions all looked like disciples of the Daoist sect. There were probably seven or eight thousand of them, and the lowest cultivation level was at the late Golden Core stage. Their strength was not low.
Hearing a cacophony of sounds as swords pierced the air, Li Gan turned to look at the numerous sword lights around him, then turned back to give Liu Lingying a deep look.
Perhaps because their conversation had stalled again, he was unwilling to say anything more, turned around and flew away without a word, and soon flew to Li Molin and Liuli's side.
“Father.” Li Molin turned to look at Li Gan, noticing something amiss in his expression. His usual cold indifference had softened, replaced by a hint of helplessness. He paused for a moment, then asked in a low voice, “Should we retreat?”
"No retreat!" Li Gan shook his head, then shouted, "All demons, listen to my command! Kill them all! No matter how many righteous dogs come today, make sure they never leave!"
The demons, who had suffered very few casualties by this point, were in high spirits. Upon hearing Li Gan's command, they all responded loudly and arrogantly.
Upon hearing Li Gan's voice, Liu Lingying swayed slightly, her face contorted with grief and sorrow, and her skin turned deathly pale.
