Chapter 384 Surprise

Li Gan looked at Liu Lingying with pity, holding a curved knife in his hand to defend against Liu Lingying's attacks. He gripped the hilt of the knife tightly, his knuckles white.

The middle-aged man from Yuandao Sect turned to look at Li Gan, knowing that he was already at the Demon Lord level, and with Li Molin and Liuli watching him closely, plus being in such a dangerous demon array, he didn't want to make a move, much less stay any longer.

The middle-aged man frowned, puzzled as to why Li Gan and Li Molin weren't in a hurry to kill them, but he couldn't worry about that now. He gripped Liu Lingying's arm tightly and said in a deep voice, "Junior Sister Ying! This place is no place to linger. The matter of the Chi You Banner needs further consideration! Let's go!"

Liu Lingying's voice was hoarse as she roared, "I will not leave! Even if I, Liu Lingying, die today, I will kill the demon and destroy the Chi You Banner! The Central Plains must not be occupied by the demons! The peaceful and stable Central Plains must not become a place like the Demon Realm! Absolutely not!!"

Suddenly, a bolt of lightning that had been gathering for a long time crashed down from above Liu Lingying and the middle-aged man, striking them directly.

The middle-aged man drew a Tai Chi symbol in the air with his right index and middle fingers together, like a sword. Lightning struck the Tai Chi symbol, and it instantly melted away. However, the fierce lightning also dispersed into specks of black and red light, which quickly dissipated.

The middle-aged man saw that Liu Lingying looked like she had gone mad. Knowing that he could not persuade her to leave with words, he firmly grabbed her arm and forcibly pulled her to run to the side.

Liu Lingying struggled violently, but she had exhausted her strength and could not break free from the man's grip. She could only roar and be dragged forward by him, staggering.

The middle-aged man led Liu Lingying as they ran forward, avoiding the bonfires. During this time, he glanced back hastily and noticed that Li Gan and the others were not chasing after them. He was puzzled, but did not investigate further.

Li Gan listened silently as Liu Lingying's furious voice faded into the distance, his head bowed and his face filled with sorrow.

“Father,” Li Molin called softly, glancing in the direction Liu Lingying had left, and hesitated before saying, “She…”

Li Gan snapped out of his daze. A flash of light appeared in his hand, and as the scimitar vanished, the Chi You Banner appeared in his grasp. He gripped the banner's pole tightly, turned to look at Li Molin, and said with a firm expression, "It's alright, Lin'er. As long as we annihilate the righteous path in the Central Plains, she will no longer be distinguished from us as either righteous or demonic. She... won't have to be troubled anymore."

"Yes," Li Molin responded softly, then asked, "What should we do now?"

Li Gan turned his head and looked around, then said in a deep voice, "Judging from what that Taoist priest said, all the righteous dogs in the formation should have already escaped. Even if they didn't escape, we could have killed them before the formation closed. Lin'er, go and inform all the clansmen that we've left."

“Okay.” Li Molin agreed in a low voice, turned his head and looked at Liuli. The two of them nodded to each other and walked to the side side by side.

So only Li Gan remained on the spot. He looked down at the Chi You Banner in his hand, his eyes flashing with a strange light and his gaze deep.

After a long silence, he murmured, "The essence of all the demon gods, huh? This is an incredible surprise..."
