Seven days have passed since Liuli and Li Molin returned from the ancient demon array. Today is April 27th, and the weather is already quite hot.
At noon, Liuli, Yu Xin, and Ge Yiyuan returned with a group of divine beast youths. Including Liuli, they were all covered in blood and looked exhausted. Some of the divine beast youths had injuries of varying degrees, and those who were seriously injured had to be carried by their companions.
Liuli led them to destroy a Buddhist temple of moderate strength before other righteous disciples could arrive to provide assistance. They were then surrounded by numerous righteous disciples who rushed to their aid, and only managed to fight their way back. In this battle, over a hundred of the more than three hundred divine beast youths were injured, and more than a dozen died; the casualties were not considered too severe.
Liuli and the others left the City of Gods and Demons in the early hours of the morning and only returned now. Even those who were not injured were exhausted.
At Liuli's command, the divine beast youths dispersed to their respective residences in the city, while Liuli, Yu Xin, and Ge Yiyuan went straight to the palace complex in the center of the God and Demon City.
Li Gan, Li Molin, the two protectors, the thirty-six demon generals, and Yu Ke and his subordinates under Li Molin, as well as Liu Li and her subordinate Yu Xin, all lived in this palace complex. Among them, Liu Li, Yu Xin, and Ge Yiyuan lived in the smallest palace. Liu Li named the palace Ninghe Palace, just to find a peaceful place in the noisy and cold demon city.
Ninghe Hall was built at the westernmost part of the palace complex, covering an area of about five acres. A clean and tidy courtyard was enclosed by a wall about 1.5 feet high. Liuli lived in the main hall in the north, while Yu Xin and Ge Yiyuan lived in the east and west side halls.
Back in Ninghe Palace, Liuli first instructed in a deep voice, "Yu Xin, go and rest. Ge Yiyuan, go and boil a tub of bathwater."
"Yes!" Yu Xin replied cheerfully, glancing at Ge Yiyuan with a gloating look before turning and walking towards the west side hall.
"Understood, young lady," Ge Yiyuan replied listlessly, then turned and walked out of the hall.
Ge Yiyuan returned quickly. Liuli told him to rest, and she took a nice hot bath and changed into clean clothes. She had originally planned to dry her wet hair with magic, but she was too tired after fighting with the Buddhist disciples for so long, so she gave up the idea.
At that time, Liuli was not wearing clothes formed from spiritual energy, but a clean white robe, a color that her magic could not condense. She stood in the spacious hall, and with a gentle wave of her slender hand in front of her, black demonic energy gathered into a mirror as tall as a person, reflecting her image.
The woman in the mirror tilted her head slightly, and strands of her wet hair, reaching her waist, cascaded down. Her fair face was filled with confusion as she looked at her reflection in the mirror, which was strikingly similar to the image of Liuli she had seen in her hazy memories.
The woman was dressed in white, her eyes often crinkling into crescent moons with laughter. Her eyes were lively and mischievous, and her smile was cunning and adorable. She was as beautiful as the first ray of sunshine after a long period of rain.
Liuli's lips curved slightly as she tried to smile like that, but her smile looked so stiff, her eyes lacked liveliness, and her gaze was cold and indifferent, as if frozen with frost.
Liuli tried for a while, her lips curving into several arcs, but none of them looked cunning, not even a smile.
After a long while, she finally gave up, staring blankly at her face in the mirror, her gaze extremely bewildered.
