Chapter 51 Killing Formation

Suddenly a sad male voice came from behind. Liuli quickly recognized it as Li Molin's voice. She never thought his voice would sound like this. It sounded fragile and pitiful, like a helpless child.

"Li Molin?" Liuli temporarily put aside everything that had happened in the illusion array and called out, "Li Molin, where are you?"

Following the sound through the clouds, Liuli quickly found Li Molin, who was curled up in a ball, mumbling, "Mother, Mother... don't go..."

Liuli leaped onto him and shouted, "Li Molin! Li Molin! Wake up!"

Li Molin showed no signs of waking up and kept muttering something. Liuli called for a while, then got impatient and simply transformed into human form, squatted down next to Li Molin, and patted his body hard while calling his name loudly.

After a while, Liuli was getting tired of calling out, and Li Molin suddenly shuddered, only then slowly waking up. He slowly got up, staring at Liuli with a completely blank look in his eyes.

Liuli took a breath and looked at Li Molin, about to speak, when Li Molin suddenly reached out and pulled her into his arms.

Liuli was stunned for a moment, then quickly came to her senses and tried to struggle. At this moment, Li Molin said in an unusually hoarse voice, "Liuli, I just dreamed about my mother. I haven't dreamed about her in a long time. I thought I had forgotten what she looked like, but she looked so real in my dream... just like when I was little..."

Liuli paused, and Li Molin's voice sounded fragile, like that of a helpless child. Liuli had never imagined that he would have such a moment.

"Later..." Li Molin continued, "When I realized I was in an illusion, Liuli, the phantom spirit appeared before me in your form... Liuli, do you know what this means?"

Liuli lazily rested her small face on Li Molin's shoulder and shook her head, saying, "I don't know, but I saw the little monk at the end... Hey, tell me, why is that?"

Upon hearing the words "little monk," Li Molin's brow twitched, his eyebrows furrowed, and he quietly closed his eyes, falling silent.

Liuli thought that Li Molin seemed to have experienced something sad in the illusion and was vulnerable at this time, so she let him hold her in his arms without struggling. However, after a while, she couldn't help but yawn out of boredom.

Li Molin was particularly fond of Liuli's fragrance and warmth, and held her for a long time before reluctantly letting go of her. He stood up and said, "We've passed this test. Let's move on to the next one."

"Oh." Liuli stood up, stretched, and said lazily, "Let's go."

As the two stepped out of the cloud-shrouded area, the view suddenly opened up. In front of them was a cave about two zhang wide, with a dozen or so bright yellow flags scattered on the ground or floating in the air. They seemed to follow no rules, yet also seemed to conform to the laws of nature, making them appear mysterious and enigmatic.

Li Molin carefully examined the many small flags in front of him. After a long while, he solemnly said, "These array flags are Taoist magic treasures. The materials are of the highest quality, and the array they form is also of the highest quality, with profound and mysterious properties."

Looking at the numerous array flags in front of her, Liuli asked with a face full of doubt, "How can you understand Taoist arrays? How do you know that this little flag is a top-grade magic treasure? You didn't just guess, did you?"

Li Molin was silent for a moment, then changed the subject, saying, "Liuli, the formation ahead is dangerous. You don't need to go in. Just wait for me here. If I can obtain the treasure, I will give it to you."

"Really?" Liuli was very skeptical.

Li Molin nodded in agreement: "Really, it's a Taoist magic weapon anyway, so I, Li Molin, don't care for it."

After thinking for a long time, Liuli shook her head and said, "Forget it, I can't just sit back and enjoy the benefits. I'll go in with you and take a look. At least I can help you!"

Li Molin pondered for a moment and said, "Alright then, stay close to me later, or you'll get killed by the formation."

"You jinx!" Liuli couldn't help but glare at him.

Li Molin smiled faintly, his eyes narrowed with warmth. He naturally reached out and took Liuli's hand, pulling her behind him and carefully stepping into the array of flags.

Upon entering the formation, the scene suddenly changed. The place where the man and the fox stood was an open field, with countless flying swords of various colors, each no more than a foot long, floating about ten feet away from them in all directions. Before they could react, a "whoosh" sound suddenly arose, and all the countless swords flew down in a chaotic manner in an instant.

The flying swords, trailing nearly two feet of colorful tails, hurtled towards Li Molin and Liuli like rain.

Startled, Li Molin hurriedly shielded Liuli behind him. His skull staff flashed repeatedly, and a dozen or so half-human-sized ghost faces appeared out of thin air and flew to various places around them. The ghost faces tried to block the flying swords, but they could only open their mouths and bite off more than twenty flying swords before being cut into pieces by the countless flying swords.

At this moment, Liuli moved away from behind Li Molin, took out the Winged Spirit Whip and lashed it forward, shattering all the flying swords in one direction into dust, creating a gap in the encirclement of flying swords.

Liuli shouted, "Let's go!"

Li Molin understood, and together with Liuli, they soared into the sky, flying far away through the gap. Unexpectedly, the numerous flying swords changed direction and relentlessly pursued them.

This strange space seemed boundless. Li Molin and Liuli flew forward rapidly, not daring to relax for a moment, but they couldn't shake off the numerous flying swords no matter what they did. Liuli turned her head to look at the relentlessly pursuing flying swords and said anxiously, "Li Molin, what should we do? We can't shake off these flying swords, and there are so many that we can't fight them!"

As Li Molin flew forward rapidly, he kept turning his head to look around, and replied, "We need to find the location of the array's core. Only by destroying the core can we leave the array!"

"Where is the core of the formation?" With a single whip, Liuli shattered several flying swords that were about to catch up. The flying swords looked as if they were formed from the aggregation of spiritual energy. After they shattered, no fragments fell to the ground. Instead, they scattered into wisps of smoke and vanished in the blink of an eye.

Li Molin shook his head helplessly and said, "We can't see any clues yet. We need to search carefully."

After pondering for a moment, Liuli suddenly released Li Molin's hand and stood in the air facing the many flying swords. She occasionally lashed out with her long whip to shatter the flying swords flying towards her, and shouted, "Li Molin, go find the array core. I'll hold off these flying swords first. You have to be quick!"

"No, it's too dangerous!" Li Molin used his skull staff to unleash more ghost faces to block Liuli's path.

Because the ghost face blocked the flying sword, Liuli breathed a sigh of relief and said impatiently, "Go quickly, there's no other way!"

After a moment of contemplation, Li Molin flashed a black light, and the Thousand Soul Banner appeared in his hand. With a wave of the banner, hundreds of fierce ghosts appeared in the air, meeting the numerous flying swords.

Li Molin pulled Liuli and said hurriedly, "Let's go!"
