Chapter 65 Burning the Mountain

The next morning, Li Molin, Yu Ke, and Ji Jue woke up one after another. Liu Li heard the noise and slowly opened her eyes. She stretched and yawned.

She turned her head and saw that the tabby cat beside her had also lazily opened its eyes. It was bright daylight, and the tabby cat's soft fur shimmered faintly in the sunlight. Its fur was clearly black, white, and yellow, and its half-open eyes were a light amber color.

Ahua slowly got up, stretched out her two front paws, and bent her whole body into an arch, lazily stretching.

"Meow." She leaped onto Liuli's shoulder and gently rubbed her little head against Liuli's face.

Liuli chuckled, picked up Ahua, and said with a smile, "Ahua is such a good girl. Come on, let's go set the mountain on fire!"

"Meow meow." Ah Hua's eyes were full of joy.

At this moment, Li Molin spoke up calmly, saying, "I didn't have time to tell you yesterday that although setting fire to the mountain will definitely lure out the disciples of the Yuandao Sect, if too many people are lured out, or if the cultivation level of the people lured out is too high, it will be disadvantageous to us."

Liuli paused, pondered for a moment, and said, "Then we should burn it too. If it attracts too many or too powerful people, we can just run away."

“Alright.” Li Molin shook his head and chuckled, straightening his wrinkled clothes, and said in a low voice, “We’re going to set the mountain on fire.”

"Yes," Yu Ke replied, bowing her head.

So Li Molin and the other two, along with Liuli and Ahua, tidied up and flew one after another towards the mountain occupied by Yuandao Sect.

The three people and two demons quickly flew to the towering mountain. At Li Molin's instruction, Yu Ke used his magic to condense a fireball and casually threw it forward. Unexpectedly, the fireball hit a faintly visible barrier and was instantly extinguished by streaks of seven-colored light.

Yu Ke looked at Li Molin, who said in a deep voice, "This mountain-protecting formation should only be able to protect the gate of Yuandao Sect. Yu Ke, throw it down a bit."

"Yes." Yu Ke nodded in response, flew down several dozen feet, and threw another fireball up the mountain. This time, the fireball flew into the forest on the mountain without any hindrance and suddenly ignited several large trees, which then burst into flames.

Li Molin turned to Ji Jue and said, "Ji Jue, why don't you go down and help? Make the fire burn brighter."

"Yes." Ji Jue responded in a muffled voice, flew down, and together with Yu Ke, condensed into fireballs and threw them up the mountain.

Yu Ke and Ji Jue were busy on the mountain below, while Li Molin hovered in the air above the fire, quietly watching it spread. Liu Li, carrying Ahua, was running around in the flames. Ignoring the intense heat, she excitedly ran around shouting, seemingly eager to cause chaos.

Li Molin turned his gaze to a white figure darting about in the fire, his eyes softened, and he shook his head with a smile.

Just then, a noise came from the high mountain ahead. Li Molin was startled and called out, "Liuli, Yuke, Ji Jue! Hide!"

As he spoke, he swooped down, pulling Liuli from the fire and hiding her under a lush tree at the foot of the mountain, where the fire hadn't spread. Yu Ke and Ji Jue turned and flew away into the distance, also hiding.

Not long after they took cover, they heard a commotion coming from the area where the fire was spreading overhead. Then, the spiritual energy around the entire mountain surged, and the water spiritual energy suddenly became abundant, turning into a torrential downpour that poured down from the sky.

Even with the torrential floodwaters pouring down, it took a full half hour to extinguish the spreading fire.

If viewed from the air at this moment, one would see that the mountainside, once covered in lush greenery, was now charred black, with wisps of black smoke rising into the sky, turning the sky a pale black.

Above the charred mountainside, dozens of people hovered in the air, riding on flying swords of various colors. They were gathered in twos and threes, talking amongst themselves, their faces mostly filled with righteous indignation.

Yan Huayin looked furious and said to Liang Yihan beside him, "Senior Brother Han, this must have been set on fire on purpose, otherwise it wouldn't have burned like this!"

Liang Yihan's expression was also extremely grim. He nodded and pondered, "Who exactly set this fire on purpose? Could it be those demons...? But how could they be so naive? Although the fire is quite large, my Yuandao Sect's mountain gate is protected by an array. How could this fire possibly stop it? Could it be..."

Liang Yihan's expression changed drastically, and he exclaimed in alarm, "The demons have set an ambush to lure us out! Listen up, all of you, return to the mountain immediately, return to the mountain immediately!"

As he spoke, he pushed Yan Huayin back and said urgently, "Junior brother, you should take the other disciples back to the mountain gate and report what happened here to the elders."

"Alright." Yan Huayin nodded and replied, "Then, Senior Brother Han, please be careful."

After saying that, Yan Huayin flew forward while shouting, "Follow me back, hurry up!"

Li Molin, Liuli, and Ahua all had excellent eyesight. Even from a distance, they could see many Yuandao Sect disciples returning to the mountain gate through the branches and leaves. Li Molin remained still, but Ahua in Liuli's arms became anxious. She stretched her neck and raised her little face. Only a moment after the fire went out, she spotted Liang Yihan. Even after more than twenty years, he had grown up and was no longer the naive boy he once was.

"Meow..." Ahua's voice was urgent, meowing repeatedly.

Liuli patted her head and pouted, "Ahua, say something I can understand."

"Meow!" Ahua said urgently, "Sister, I see him! Let's go up quickly! He's about to go back."

Liuli turned to look at Li Molin and asked, "Li Molin, how is it? Can we go up?"

"Wait a little longer," Li Molin said, shaking his head slightly.
