In the heart of the City of Gods and Demons, the surviving demon generals had gathered around Li Gan. Li Gan looked them over and saw that even though they were alive and not seriously injured, they were all covered in dust and looked extremely disheveled.
Li Gan snorted coldly and said in a chilling voice, "Go into the city and gather your demonic soldiers. Command them to slaughter all those shameless righteous dogs in the city for me!"
"Yes!" Including the demon general who had recovered slightly after being seriously injured, the thirty-two demon generals responded in unison and turned to walk in all directions.
"Yu Chen!" Li Gan suddenly called out.
One of the demon generals stopped in response, turned around, cupped his hands, and asked, "What are your orders, Your Majesty?"
Li Gan said in a deep voice, "You will protect me. I will summon the eighty-one demon spirits from the Chi You Banner."
Yu Chen's face lit up with joy, and he replied, "Yes!"
A flash of light appeared in Li Gan's hand as he grasped the dark black flagpole of the Chi You Banner. He turned to look at the blood-red flag fluttering in the wind and sneered, "So what if these righteous dogs use the Thunderfire Tribulation? We still have the essence of eighty-one demon gods. In this battle, who will win and who will lose is still uncertain!"
After saying this, he raised his hand and threw the Chiyou Banner into the air. The Chiyou Banner grew larger in the wind, and when it stopped about ten feet above Li Gan's head, it had become a large banner about two zhang high, with a width of about half a zhang and a length of about one zhang when the banner was unfurled.
The wind howled, causing the blood-red banner to flutter in the breeze, and the strange runes on its surface seemed to move gently as if they were alive.
Then, Li Gan sat cross-legged on a relatively flat stone at his feet. He closed his eyes, formed a complex hand seal with his hands, and murmured a long incantation.
As he chanted his incantation, a massive amount of demonic energy began to emanate from his body, shooting into the sky and surging into the Chi You Banner.
The demonic energy emanating from Li Gan's body increased, and even with his cultivation level, he seemed to be struggling to use this technique. As time went on, his body began to tremble slightly, and his cheeks turned pale.
More and more demonic energy rushed to the Chi You Banner. Gradually, the Chi You Banner stopped absorbing the demonic energy and instead allowed it to swirl around its sides like a black mist.
Then, the profound demonic energy began to swirl on the huge flag, spinning faster and faster until it gradually turned into a black vortex about the height of a person. From the vortex, bursts of arrogant laughter could be faintly heard, sounding extremely arrogant.
"Li Gan, stop!!"
Suddenly, a woman's voice clearly reached Li Gan's ears from afar, causing his hand to tremble and the demonic energy on the Chi You Banner to surge, almost dissipating the newly formed vortex.
Fortunately, Li Gan quickly stabilized, and the black hole vortex on the Chi You Banner also stopped dissipating.
As the woman's voice fell to the ground, a silver flying sword shot out like a meteor, piercing straight towards Li Gan, who was sitting cross-legged.
"lady?!"
Yu Chen saw the woman flying towards him at high speed and exclaimed in shock. He quickly reacted, and a black longbow appeared in his hand with a flash of black light. He drew back the bowstring, and a long arrow made of demonic energy took shape. Then he released the bowstring, and the long arrow rushed towards the flying sword at extremely high speed.
The long arrow quickly collided with the flying sword, instantly halting the sword's forward momentum. Moments later, the arrow was shattered by the flying sword, scattering into specks of demonic light, but the flying sword's speed had already slowed down considerably.
Suddenly, another long arrow shot out at high speed, hitting the tip of the flying sword and spinning endlessly.
By this time, the momentum of the flying sword had weakened, and it was no longer able to shatter the long arrow. Liu Lingying landed on the flat ground beneath the ruins, looked at Li Gan from afar, and waved to retrieve the flying sword.
