Chapter 117 Parrot Head

Tang Wan knew the Yan couple's good intentions, and in order to get her parents to pay more attention to her, she never complained. She even asked the Tang couple to arrange various courses for her.

Sometimes, when she got really tough, she would only sleep three or four hours a day, but even so, she never received a word of praise or comfort from the Tang couple.

Instead, Yan Pingshun noticed something was wrong with her. After receiving the message from the school teacher for the third time that Tang Wan had fallen asleep again, Yan Pingshun went directly to the school to pick her up and brought her back. He asked Jiang Yu to watch over her and forcibly suspended some of her classes.

Seeing Yan Pingshun's firm attitude for the first time, Xiao Tangwan wanted to resist, but she still backed down.

However, after starting junior high school, Tang still entered his rebellious phase.

She deliberately skipped all tutoring and extracurricular classes, deliberately submitted a blank paper on her first entrance exam, wandered around fighting in various alleys after school, and deliberately dyed her hair in all sorts of colors before the Tang couple returned home.

Nevertheless, the Tang couple only glanced at her and didn't say another word.

After skipping school and the Yan family's house for a week, Tang Wan was finally caught by Yan Nian, who had also skipped class, in an alley.

Tang Wan's first reaction was to run, but Yan Nian had obviously been lying in wait at the exit and caught Tang Wan in his arms.

"You're under arrest, student who skipped class. Surrender now."

Tang Wan sighed and got out of Yan Nian's arms.

Tang Wan's brightly colored hair stung Yan Nian's eyes, but thankfully her good looks could withstand it. If it were anyone else, it would have been a disaster.

"Tang Wan, you've really made something of yourself!" Yan Nian clicked his tongue, amused by Tang Wan's expression.

He rarely called Tang Wan by her full name; usually, when he did, it meant he was on the verge of getting angry.

Tang Wan didn't speak and turned her head to the side, refusing to look at Yan Nian.

The latter sighed, probably knowing what had happened. His mouth opened and closed, but he couldn't bear to say anything more. He simply took off his hat and put it on her head, carefully buttoning it up.

After doing all that, he placed his large hand on Tang Wan's head, with a hint of oppression.

"Dye it back."

"No." Tang Wan rarely acted out.

"Really don't want it?"

"don't want!"

Yan Nian sighed again, his voice filled with helplessness. He hooked Tang Wan's hair, and after a moment's thought, took her hand and walked outside.

"Where are we going?" Tang Wan made a token effort to break free, but failed, so she let him hold her hand.

They grew up together, but somehow Yan Nian had grown a head taller than her.

Yan Nian didn't say anything, but led her into the hair salon.

“Dye my hair the same color as hers.”

"Are you crazy?" Tang Wan grabbed him, but Yan Nian ignored her and pulled her to sit down.

"Aren't you afraid Uncle Yan will beat you with a broom?"

"Wait for me here." Yan Nian put his hands on Tang Wan's shoulders and pressed her down to sit on the sofa before going upstairs with the young man.

Before dyeing her hair, he didn't forget to order milk tea and snacks for Tang Wan so she could have something to eat and pass the time.

By the time it was all done, it was already eight or nine o'clock in the evening.

Looking at Yan Nian's multicolored hair, Tang Wan was at a loss for words.

"How about it?"

"Not very good." Tang Wan pouted, finished the last sip of her milk tea, and threw it precisely into the trash can.

Yan Nian tossed her hair, looked in the mirror next to her, and seemed quite satisfied.

"Sure enough, handsome people look good with this kind of colorful parrot hair."

He took out his phone, put his hand on Tang Wan's shoulder, and snapped a picture, officially capturing the two parrot heads.

Looking at the photo, Tang Wan was speechless. She took another look and couldn't help but smile. She took another look and the two of them burst out laughing.

As they strolled down the street, their two parrot-like heads stood out conspicuously. Ignoring the stares of others, they walked hand in hand, seemingly oblivious to everyone around them, heading towards their home.

Jiang Yu, however, didn't have the leisure for that while at home.

Jiang Yu, who was waiting for Yan Nian to return with Tang Wan, kept glancing at the alarm clock on the wall or looking out the window. She even lost interest in watching her favorite melodramatic movie on TV.

"Honey, why haven't Niannian and Wanwan come back yet?"

"Didn't Yan Nian say he was taking Wanwan to eat first? It should be soon, so don't worry." Yan Pingshun placed the warm water in front of Jiang Yu, then sat down next to her, put his arm around her shoulder, and gently patted her to soothe her anxiety.

"The teacher said Wanwan hasn't been to school for a week, she doesn't answer the phone, and she doesn't come over for meals, although they keep in touch via text message..."

"Didn't Yan Nian send over the photos? Kids in their rebellious phase are like this; we need to guide them properly. Don't be too impulsive and just start yelling at them, or you'll only trigger their rebellious tendencies..."

"I know, I know!" Jiang Yu interrupted Yan Pingshun before she could finish speaking. "When have I ever been mean to Wanwan?"

"Last time, she had a fever of 39 degrees, and you scolded her all morning."

"How can this be the same? Goodness, she's acting like nothing happened. If Niannian hadn't noticed something was wrong, the consequences would have been unimaginable. No wonder she suddenly said she wanted to go to school early to finish her homework."

Jiang Yu crossed her arms and said, "You weren't much better. The very next day, you rushed to the teacher and changed the parents' contact information to the two of us."

Yan Pingshun's eyes widened. "I'm practically her godfather, and Wanwan is my daughter. The girl has a fever of 39 degrees Celsius, and her biological parents not only don't answer the phone, but they haven't even offered a word of comfort! If her parents are inactive, I, as her godfather, can't be inactive!"

The two were arguing when they suddenly stopped.

“Wanwan always keeps things to herself. If you don’t find out, she can keep it a secret forever.” Jiang Yu was completely baffled as to where things went wrong.

“I asked Uncle Chen, and he said that although children may not remember things from their childhood, it will more or less affect their personality. Besides, Wanwan is precocious and remembers things early. She must be used to being patient and doesn’t want to cause us any trouble.”

"No way! They should be talked to and scolded! No matter how rebellious someone is, they still have to let others know they're safe. This isn't something to joke about."

Jiang Yu slammed her hand on the table, causing ripples to spread across the water in her glass.

Just then, a noise came from the main gate.

"You're back! Have you eaten?" Her voice was sweet and melodious, as if she wasn't the one who had been so aggressively trying to teach the two a lesson just moments before.

Looking at the two people's colorful hair, even though he was mentally prepared, Yan Pingshun still sighed with his eyes closed. Jiang Yu, on the other hand, had her eyes shining and looked eager to try.

"Uncle Yan, Aunt Jiang." Tang Wan was blocked by Yan Nian's side, and she lowered her head, pressing her hat down somewhat uneasily.
