Chapter 192 Two Choices



Tian Wei isn't a crybaby, but lately, too many things have been weighing on her. She's just a recent college graduate, and the pressure of work and the burden of family are like a boulder weighing her down, making it hard for her to breathe.

She exhaled, as if speaking out would require expending all the courage she had accumulated.

“I took leave last week to go back to my hometown because my neighbor called me and said something had happened to my mother.” Tian Wei gritted her teeth, blinked, and her hands trembled slightly, as if she was angry, or perhaps she was still scared.

“When I got back, my mother was already in the hospital. She was covered in bruises, and her head was wrapped in gauze. The doctor said that these would gradually heal, but... my mother will spend the rest of her life in a wheelchair.”

"Your dad hit you?" Tang Wan's question was calm, without surprise or pity, as if she were asking, "Have you eaten?"

"yes."

Just one word, yet it took all of Tian Wei's strength to answer. She clutched her skirt, head bowed, ashamed of having such a father.
