At the hospital, Tang Li sat pitifully in a wheelchair, his hands and feet wrapped in gauze, and a large gauze pad on his face, looking utterly pathetic.
Tang Qi went to pay the bill and pick up the medicine, while Meng Wan went to get the report. The three children were placed in the hospital's pediatric ward, waiting for the two of them to return.
Tang Li had calmed down by now, and the thought of being seen crying by the two of them made her feel inexplicably shy.
Fortunately, Meng Zhiyao was a sensitive person, and Zhao Tianqi was a carefree person. Neither of them mentioned the matter at all. Instead, they surrounded him and asked him how he was doing.
"Once you're better, I'll go and tie up that Qin guy and beat him up for you! I'll avenge you!"
Zhao Tianqi patted his chest, looking like a good buddy, and appeared righteous, but what he said made people both laugh and cry.
"You even tied him up? You should learn the law." Tang Li may be a bit mischievous, but he wouldn't do anything illegal or disorderly, even though at their age they wouldn't be severely punished if they did.
Qin Yang dared to push him so openly for two reasons: firstly, he was purely evil; secondly, he knew the law couldn't touch him, which is why he dared to push him so blatantly.
Zhao Tianqi pursed his lips, somewhat dissatisfied that the matter was simply dropped.
Meng Zhiyao remained silent, as she usually was, but Tang Li sensed something was off.
"I'm fine now, don't be afraid." Unlike his attitude towards Zhao Tianqi, he always unconsciously showed more patience when facing Meng Zhiyao.
Meng Zhiyao nodded and forced a smile, which looked somewhat stiff.
"If you don't believe me, I'll get up and jump for you a couple of times?" Tang Li said, trying to get up, but was immediately pressed down by Meng Zhiyao.
"Tang Li!" Meng Zhiyao's face was serious, with a tone and expression that she had never used before, which startled the two of them.
"The doctor said if you don't take good care of yourself, you'll have health problems later! Is this something to be taken lightly?!"
Meng Zhiyao's eyes were slightly red, and Tang Li was most afraid of Meng Zhiyao looking like this.
"Okay, okay, I won't move, don't be angry." Tang Li tugged at Meng Zhiyao's sleeve, unusually giving in.
The roles of the two have been reversed; Tang Li, who should have been the one being comforted, is now the one comforting Meng Zhiyao.
“Your parents aren’t home, so come stay at my place for a while. I’ll take care of you,” Meng Zhiyao said matter-of-factly.
“I have a nanny at home. Besides, how are you going to take care of me? In the end, won’t you still have to trouble the nanny?” Tang Li may be young, but that doesn’t mean she is oblivious.
Normally, staying for a night or two is fine, but this is a serious injury that will take a hundred days to heal, and I'll need at least a month to recover. How could I possibly bother them?
“Then I’ll go to your house, and we can talk. I can also explain the lessons to you.”
Just like when he had a high fever, Tang Li insisted on visiting him every day, talking to him, and cheering him up, despite Qin Yi and his objections. Meng Zhiyao also wanted to do her part when he was in pain, to share some of his suffering.
"Me too! Me too!" Zhao Tianqi shouted happily, raising his hand.
"Go away, what are you doing here?" Tang Li wasn't so patient with Zhao Tianqi.
Zhao Tianqi was unconvinced and made a face at him.
The three of them were making a ruckus in the hospital's children's room when Tang Qi and Meng Wan happened to bump into each other in the elevator.
"How is it?" Tang Qi was still holding the payment receipt and a bag of medicine in his hand.
"It's not a big problem. Tang Li cushioned the injury with his hand, so his head wasn't hurt. It's just an external injury, but his ankle is a bit of a problem. If he doesn't take good care of it, he could easily develop habitual dislocations. I'll take him to the pharmacy to get checked out once he's almost fully recovered. He's still young, and his bones are still developing. If we're not careful, he could suffer long-term consequences."
Meng Wan watched the video as soon as it came out. Although it wasn't serious, it was definitely going to be tough for Tang Li, who had been pampered since childhood.
Tang Qi nodded without saying anything.
What are you planning to do?
Given Tang Qi's style, this matter won't just be left like this.
"You like being number one, right? Then let's see how many times you've been number one."
The elevator doors opened just then, and Tang Qi stepped out first. Meng Wan raised an eyebrow, offering no comment on Tang Qi's actions.
"Brother." Tang Li felt a little guilty when he saw Tang Qi. The three of them stopped arguing and stood obediently in place.
"You're still calling me 'brother' now?" Tang Qi lifted his chin and turned it from side to side. "You're not too bad, you know to block it."
"Won't this leave a scar on my face?" Tang Li was a little vain, and at this moment she wasn't worried about any aftereffects on her feet, but rather about the scars on her face from the two abrasions.
Meng Wan chuckled, speechless. "Don't worry, I'll give you some ointment later. You're quite vain for your age."

As they were talking, Meng Zhiyao suddenly walked over and tugged at Meng Wan's sleeve, her tone somewhat cautious.
"What's wrong?"
"May I stay at Tang Li's house for a while?"
When Meng Zhiyao said this, Tang Li looked away, but his ears twitched slightly.
Why did you suddenly decide to go?
“When I was sick before, Tang Li would always come over. His parents weren’t around, so I wanted to go and stay with him until he could walk again before I went home. Is that okay?”
Meng Wan looked at Tang Li, who shrugged. "He originally wanted me to come to his house, but I didn't agree, so he said he would come to my house instead."
"Me too," Zhao Tianqi added.
"You can have whatever you want, but don't get involved," Tang Li replied without hesitation.
"Are you okay on your own?" Meng Wan placed her hand on Meng Zhiyao's head and rubbed it.
