"Isn't that Meng Zhili? Who's the girl next to him? She's so pretty, could she be his girlfriend?"
"No way! My only hope for the start of school is Meng Zhili's face."
"They don't seem like boyfriend and girlfriend; they don't seem very familiar with each other."
"Why would a noble lady take the bus to school?"
"You know what, I'm actually quite envious of them. Look at their opening ceremony, and then look at ours. The difference between people is just so huge!"
"Exactly, who stole my life as a rich kid?"
The bus this morning was mostly filled with students from No. 1 High School, in twos and threes, some curious, some disdainful, and some envious. Their discussions weren't loud, but in this quiet space, even if Meng Wan didn't want to listen, a few words would inevitably reach her ears.
Meng Wan didn't care, but Meng Zhili felt a little uncomfortable listening to it.
"How about I call you a taxi starting tomorrow?"
