When Meng Zhilian ran out, He Tong had just arrived, and he was driving himself.
"Sorry, I forgot you were filming a variety show."
"No, have you been able to contact Wanwan?"
He Tong shook his head. "How did you get out? Did you finish recording?"
"No, Teacher Ou is a very nice person. She made an excuse for me to leave first."
He Tong nodded, stepped on the gas, and headed straight for the Meng family.
Guo Qingqing immediately called Meng Wan, but when no one answered, she immediately contacted Lin Mi and Xu Jiaojiao.
Without exception, no one could contact Meng Wan. They were filled with anxiety, but there was nothing they could do but pray.
The three members of Lanxing also received the news immediately, but instead of going to the Meng family, they used all their connections to inquire about the current situation in Gangcun.
Unfortunately, the situation is not optimistic. The sudden disaster caught everyone off guard. The area involved is wide, and more manpower is still being deployed. It is not possible to understand the specific situation in a short time.
"Does Yan Nian know?" Cui Qingling suddenly remembered Yan Nian.
"As soon as Ji Sheng saw the news, he went to the Yan family to find him. I knew you were coming, so I stayed to wait for you. I also called him just now, but he didn't answer. I guess he already knows."
"No matter what, let's go check on the Yan family first." For Yan Nian, Meng Wan is the only person in this world worth his time now.
It's hard to imagine how crazy he would be if he heard this news.
The group nodded and headed to meet up with Yan Shi and Yan Nian. The office, however, was not as noisy as they had expected.
Only Ji Sheng and Yao Qinglin remained.
"And him?" Lan Xing asked.
"Let's go." Ji Sheng shrugged helplessly.
“I guessed so.” The three of them immediately understood what Ji Sheng meant.
"Let's go to the Meng family first and discuss it. I don't think they can stop us."
"What about Tang Qi?" Cui Qingling suddenly remembered that there was also that person from the Tang family.
"That madman is probably long gone. If it's a coincidence, the two of them might even have landed at the same point."
Flights to that destination had long been suspended, so Yan Nian arranged a helicopter tour for himself, and it's already en route.
"How does he look?" The "he" here naturally refers to Yan Nian.
Ji Sheng shook his head. "He was frighteningly calm. After handing over his work to Assistant Yao, he contacted a helicopter and left."
"Didn't you try to stop them?"
Ji Sheng shook his head, and a chill ran down his spine as he recalled Yan Nian's appearance.
Those eyes seemed like abysses, devoid of any light, shimmering with a deep blue that sent chills down one's spine, a calm before the storm.
As Yan Nian's best brother, Ji Sheng naturally understood Yan Nian's thoughts. Stopping him at this moment meant that they would never be brothers again, which was one thing, but being trapped in regret and self-blame for the rest of their lives was the most painful thing.
Instead of just waiting, we should do something.
"Alright, that's enough. Let's go to the Meng family first." Su Ping's expression wasn't very good either.
The group of people didn't waste any time and hurried over to discuss countermeasures.
As luck would have it, the three Meng brothers were also preparing to set off.
In the blink of an eye, the Meng family home was empty, leaving only Mr. and Mrs. Meng and their two children.
"Will my sister be alright?" Meng Zhiyao asked, her eyes red.
"Of course, Tang Wan is amazing. She can do anything. She'll be fine." Tang Li's tone was firm. His eyes were also red, but he stubbornly refused to let the tears fall.
Qin Yi patted the two little ones on the head without saying anything.
Meng Boqun sat to the side, feeling uneasy. He didn't dare turn on the TV to watch the latest news reports, afraid that the three of them would be worried. He could only silently refresh the page on his phone again and again, just to see the latest news as soon as possible.
"Sir, this is the only suitable place to land right now; we can't go any further."
"Prepare for landing." Yan Nian didn't say another word.
As luck would have it, just as he finished checking the emergency kit and was about to go inside, another helicopter landed at the spot where he had landed.
It is Tang Qi.
Neither of them seemed particularly surprised when they saw each other, as if they had expected it.
"Together?" Yan Nian was the first to make the request.
His taciturn demeanor was quite different from his usual self.
"Let's go." Just one word, the same as always.
The two remained silent throughout the journey, conserving their energy as they made their way to their destination.
Surrounded by mountains, the earthquake had caused boulders and loose rocks to tumble down. The mountain paths were already difficult to traverse, and with the boulders blocking their way, they had no choice but to find another route up.
After walking for an unknown amount of time, the two did not reach the summit, but instead encountered People's Liberation Army soldiers and firefighters who were also heading into the mountains.
After some discussion, it was finally decided to let them join the main group.
The journey into the mountains was not easy, with frequent aftershocks. The group walked from dawn till dusk, and finally saw a glimmer of hope.
The dilapidated mountain village was in complete disarray.
Collapsed houses, bewildered crowds, and survivors gathered together, helping to transport the rubble.
The village was mostly populated by the elderly, women, and children, yet not a single one stopped to rest, endlessly helping to carry the load. In this sparsely populated area, they were also striving to save themselves.
Upon seeing the rescuers, the crowd's first reaction was not to cheer, but to freeze in shock.
"Look, the People's Liberation Army is here!" A shout drew the attention of everyone nearby.
Many people popped their heads out and quickly surrounded them.
"Please, please save the children!" an old man knelt on the ground, his voice pleading.
