Chapter 25 But what should we do?

Before Meng Zhili could say anything, Meng Wan kicked Peng Zhe in the shin. The kick wasn't very strong, but it was a clear warning.

Peng Zhe felt a little wronged. He hadn't said anything wrong, and besides, their feud with No. 1 Middle School had been going on for a while. Wasn't it normal for them to exchange a few sarcastic remarks when they met? He even got mocked by people from No. 1 Middle School when he went to buy breakfast.

Peng Zhe, who was full of complaints, dared not speak out and looked very resentful.

"This is my second brother."

Peng Zhe's eyes widened suddenly, his gaze shifting between the two of them. "So...it's true?"

Meng Wan ignored him and instead looked at Meng Zhili.

"Second brother, I'm leaving now."

"Okay, I'll wait for you at the school gate after school. No need to rush, take your time."

Meng Wan nodded, gave Peng Zhe a look, and the two walked towards the school one after the other. The commotion subsided, and it was almost time for school; everyone dispersed and returned to their normal routines.

Stepping into the school gate, Peng Zhe clearly couldn't hold back his words any longer.

"So that family reunion banquet was real?"

You received an invitation too?

"No, it's not that. I just happened to catch a glimpse of it yesterday when the housekeeper was organizing the invitations, but I didn't know Tang Zhiyi, so I assumed it was some Tang family that had popped up out of nowhere, and I ignored it. I was even thinking of asking you this morning when I saw people discussing it in the group chat, what's going on?"

"What else could it be? The real person is back, so this fake one has to go back to the rightful place too." Meng Wan laughed, showing no sign of sadness.

"Hey, no..."

“Tang Wan… no, Meng Wan!” A girl walked over and interrupted Peng Zhe.

Meng Wan raised her hand to greet her. "You're quite well-informed."

“In our area, any news from anyone spreads like wildfire.” Su Ping bumped fists with her. “Don’t forget to give me your clothes after school.”

"Even in this state, you're still thinking about clothes?" Meng Wan was both amused and exasperated. "How come I didn't realize before that you were obsessed with money?"

Su Ping looked at Meng Wan with an expression that said, "What nonsense are you talking about?"

"If you don't want the Tang family, then don't. It's not like you're starving or without clothes. Besides, shouldn't you be making money even more at a time like this? The money from the sales usually ends up in your pocket. Pity you? I'd rather pity myself, you cunning little devil."

"Pfft!" Peng Zhe overheard their conversation and couldn't help but laugh out loud. Su Ping glanced at him, and Peng Zhe immediately suppressed his laughter, making a zipper gesture.

"Alright, I knew you wanted it, so I prepared the same one beforehand. I'll put it in your locker in the changing room later."

Have you looked at the design drafts I sent you?

"The new Chinese-style cheongsam is quite nice. I'll send you the modification plans for the other styles tonight."

Su Ping nodded, stopped talking to them, and left directly. The two walked on opposite sides, appearing to outsiders as if they were classmates who were somewhat familiar but not really close and had to greet each other.

"So you two really faked your deaths to force you to your death?"

Meng Wan rolled her eyes at him. "With your English level, can you even become a diplomat?"

Peng Zhe tossed his red hair, his expression full of confidence, "EU server, kill it."

Meng Wan chuckled at his words and patted his shoulder. "Let's go, I don't want to be late with you."

"But I heard that the Meng family moved elsewhere after going bankrupt, and they're in debt and not doing very well. Are you comfortable living there? Is Brother Yan willing to let you suffer? If you don't want Brother Yan's help, you can stay in my villa for now, and I'll hire a housekeeper and a driver for you. Wouldn't that be more comfortable than living in the Tang or Meng families?"

Meng Wan was both amused and exasperated. Why were all the people around her giving away villas at the drop of a hat?

“I didn’t even accept Yan Nian’s help, but now I’m going to accept yours? Are you sure you can handle it?” Meng Wan looked at him, raising an eyebrow.

Peng Zhe paused for a moment, then belatedly broke out in a cold sweat. Putting aside Yan Nian, the people around Meng Wan were extremely jealous. If they knew that Sister Meng had accepted his help, he would probably have to consult a Taoist priest to determine an auspicious day before going out, right?

He swallowed hard and silently took a step back. "Thank you, Sister Xie Wan, for sparing my life."

Meng Wan chuckled, speechless, and ignored him.

The classroom was much noisier than I had imagined, with everyone showcasing their designs—some brilliant, others bizarre—which generated quite a bit of laughter.

The moment Meng Wan stepped into the classroom, the entire class fell silent instantly, their expressions somewhat strange.

"What? Did I get plastic surgery or undergo gender reassignment surgery? Your expression is so strange."

Meng Wan's words lightened the atmosphere in the class considerably.

"Hey, what kind of hospital is so bold as to dare to do something to Sister Wan's face?"

"That's right, that's right."

"If you're considering a gender reassignment surgery, think about me." A girl winked at Meng Wan.

Before Meng Wan could even speak, a hand landed on her shoulder, displaying a possessive nature.

"I am the rightful wife, all of you step back." After saying that, he kissed Meng Wan on the cheek, a solid kiss.

Meng Wan pulled a tissue from the podium, expressing her disdain for the heavy burden of love through her actions, but a smile played on her lips.

"Blue Star, aren't you disgusting?" Meng Wan's sarcastic remark made the whole class burst into laughter.

However, in any class, there will always be some groups that are not entirely harmonious.

"Ugh, some people are so shameless. They've stolen someone else's pampered life and still have the nerve to come to school. If it were me, I'd definitely transfer schools overnight, right?"

"Exactly, but I heard their biological parents are in debt, so they probably don't have the money to transfer schools, right?"

"Oh my god, isn't it true that the top student in our grade gets a full tuition waiver? Good heavens, could it be that they can't afford the tuition and are just shamelessly hanging around here?"

After they finished speaking, they laughed to themselves.

With a loud "bang," two piercing screams pierced everyone's eardrums, and many people frowned in disgust.

"Blue Star, what do you want to do!" The girl's eyes were filled with terror.

“I want to sew your mouths shut, take out your empty, water-filled heads and shake them, and finally dig out your hearts to see how dark they must be to be so sinister.”

Lan Xing smiled gently, but her eyes sent chills down your spine, making you feel as if she really would do it.

The two girls instinctively grabbed each other's hands, but their words were sharp and sarcastic.

"We didn't say who it was, why are you all so eager to assume it's us?"

"But what can we do? If it were you, you probably wouldn't even be able to go to school, right? After all, you can't get first place in the grade, can you?" Meng Wan patted Lan Xing on the shoulder, but her eyes were on the two girls.

Her eyes were bright, and a smile played on her lips; she showed no sign of the anger one would expect after being provoked.
